"Jayce said, 'This time I agree with Cui Ming. The average nature of people cannot reach the height of integrity. There is an instinct, for example, pens often go missing at bank counters. Later, the banks wrapped them in rubber bands, and strangely enough, even when the rubber bands broke, the pens remained. If there were a law regarding this, many who would normally keep found items would change their minds and gradually raise their moral standards to that height. In Twilight City, many people believe that found items should be returned to their rightful owners. Forcing this through law is not effective; people are afraid of legal punishment rather than genuinely wanting to do good deeds, which contradicts the original intention of doing good. Providing certain rewards and allowing for the legal and reasonable possession of lost items would greatly encourage integrity.' 0

Mi Xiaonan questioned, 'What are you all talking about?' Why do these people keep straying off topic? Every time a subject comes up, they can’t stick to it for more than two sentences before it changes? 0

Beiyue ignored Mi Xiaonan and retorted, 'If we cannot raise moral standards to a certain height, how can we encourage people to strive towards that height?' 0

Cui Ming replied, 'Individuals are not a collective; each person has their own thoughts. The highest moral standard is to be free of desires, which clearly conflicts with civilization. How high is this moral standard? Who sets the criteria? We cannot impose the morals of a few on the majority; we can only raise the moral baseline for most people. For instance, in ancient times, seeking women was casual. Then came prohibitions against minors; this baseline has been raised globally. Further along is a middle ground where unmarried men can seek adult professional women. Currently, most countries fluctuate around this middle ground. The highest standard would be to prohibit seeking women altogether. This moral height exists but goes against human nature; adults have physiological and psychological needs without partners or marriage.' 0

Jayce nodded, 'Imposing the morals of a minority on the majority is personal worship...' 0

'Shut up,' Beiyue looked at Cui Ming. 'Humans are different from animals; humans are ordered and intelligent social creatures. Complete freedom is impossible; rules are necessary to maintain overall order. For example, at crosswalks, many people used to avoid them for convenience. So why are more and more people using crosswalks now? Because of education and constraints that have improved people's quality. It’s not because most people don’t want to use crosswalks that they can disregard them.' 0

Cui Ming countered, 'Beiyue, that's sophistry. A crosswalk is a baseline, not a height.' 0

'According to your logic, what most people couldn’t do when crosswalks first appeared was considered a height; now most people can do it under constraints.' 0

Mi Xiaonan stood on her chair to observe the back row; Cui Ming never argued with Beiyue, while Beiyue had always disliked discussing these issues. Why had both changed their usual behavior? Especially Beiyue, who told Jayce to be quiet and focused solely on debating with Cui Ming. 0

Beiyue and Cui Ming sensed something was off as they exchanged glances until Mi Xiaonan reminded them, 'Cui Ming, it's your turn.' 0

Cui Ming remained silent, leaning against the window to look outside while Beiyue casually picked up a book and leaned against the other side to read. Mi Xiaonan couldn’t quite understand and turned to Jayce: Do you get it?" 0

Jayce was an experienced player in the game of love. It was clear to him that this woman was not involved with that man, yet there was a mutual attraction between them. It seemed to be their first foray into such territory, and young people like them often cared deeply about whether their views were acknowledged by the other. They would frequently feel anxious and try to persuade one another. After some time, three scenarios could unfold: one person compromises while the other enjoys that compromise; both mutually accommodate each other; or they clash head-on. The first and third scenarios were doomed to fail eventually. The second scenario, where both parties accommodate each other, had its flaws as well—one could either unconditionally accept everything the other said or stubbornly cling to their own views. Among all these situations, only when mutual accommodation occurred under certain concessions while still holding onto specific beliefs could a relationship truly flourish. 0

The feelings between men and women evolved over time; what some might call "Love at First Sight" could also be seen as mere physical attraction. These two had experience, yet in some ways, they were still innocent. Their communication remained at the level of soul and emotion, not yet reaching the depths of physical intimacy. If one of them were more seasoned, they might quickly bypass the soulful and emotional connection, using physicality to cover up any misunderstandings in those areas. The beauty of innocence lay in their enjoyment of simplicity and gradual maturity through complete experiences. However, their naivety made it easy for them to miss each other. Conversely, physical ties could aid emotional development, but if the foundation was not solid enough, it could lead to a dynamic where one dominated while the other submitted. If the dominant partner was too young, they might take the submissive partner for granted, leading to inflated self-confidence and ultimately resulting in heartbreak. 0

Unfortunately, it seemed that the woman was suppressing her emotions while the man repeatedly glanced her way. Although she was aware of his attention, she made an effort to focus on her book instead. This created a significant variable; first loves are beautiful but often end poorly—99% of the time, they do not have happy endings, and this couple would likely be no exception. 0

Call me a love expert: Jayce! 0

Mi Xiaonan observed Jayce with a mysterious smile on his lips and turned to look at the back seat, feeling puzzled. There seemed to be some change in the air, yet nothing felt different. 0

The journey was long, and they stopped at a small town inn for a break. As soon as Jayce appeared, he elicited screams from many women. He resumed his role as the charming romantic hero and blew kisses to greet everyone. Jayce was quite popular in Twilight City, known as the host of the television variety show Let's Fall in Love. Coupled with his royal background and numerous reports of his heroic deeds, along with his strong physique, handsome features, and captivating smile… he had become the national prince charming of Twilight City. His affection for his future heir's sister earned him the title of "National Brother." His popularity easily placed him among the top three in Twilight City. Once people learned he was also a practitioner dedicated to protecting Twilight City, he would be seen as an undeniably perfect man. 0

Cui Ming was dining on the second floor of the small inn when he noticed people nearby staring at their table. "Hey Jayce, are you really that popular?" 0

"Just average—world's third," Jayce replied without humility. "I'm exceptional; that's why I'm popular." 0

Mi Xiaonan stared at Jayce, feeling an impulse to zap him with electricity. 0

"Exceptional people always attract jealousy," Jayce smiled at the waitress who brought their food. "Thank you; you're beautiful." 0

The waitress dropped her tray in surprise, blushing as she turned and ran off to fetch another server who stared at Jayce. With an air of regretful elegance, Jayce made a gesture of disappointment. Cui Ming remarked, "Do you enjoy being treated like a star?" 0

"Who wouldn't? Otherwise, why would so many people want to become celebrities?" Jayce responded. 0
