Ding Ze and Li Qing climbed onto the rooftop, while Cui Ming laid Mi Xiaonan on the living room sofa. The injuries caused by Force could only heal on their own; outsiders couldn’t help. 0

Beiyue also made it to the rooftop and asked, "What’s going on?" 0

Li Qing shook his head and replied, "Nothing found... Wait, something is approaching." 0

Li Qing waited quietly, and suddenly shot off at an angle. A box appeared on the highway outside the villa, bouncing before releasing a terrifying little clown doll that exploded into smoke. A wave of Psychic Force pierced through Li Qing's body, causing him to tremble all over as he gritted his teeth to endure it. Beiyue leaped to Li Qing's side, ready for action. Li Qing said, "Fear Technique, Spiritual Connection." He had been hit. 0

Ding Ze, well-versed in such matters, remarked, "It's Jack, Joker Jack." 0

Joker Jack was the best assassin from the Western Continent—without a doubt. He was a bloodthirsty killer. While other assassins would kill their targets and leave, he would torment them to death with tricks, accompanied by his maniacal laughter. He was a mad and irrational assassin. 0

Being from the Ding Family, Ding Ze recognized the doll's design immediately; Jack had arrived. The name Jack came from the king of Poker cards and was also a clown in appearance. No one knew this assassin's real name; he was simply called Jack because of the doll's resemblance to him. 0

Cui Ming held the Fate Card tightly and dashed out of the living room, climbing onto the roof beside Ding Ze. He whispered, "Nine o'clock direction, thirty-five meters." 0

Without hesitation, Ding Ze unleashed a bolt of energy that shot out like lightning. The bolt struck an unknown object with a muffled explosion, revealing a figure that looked just like the Joker from a Poker deck. Beiyue moved swiftly, his blade slicing through the air toward Jack. Jack maintained his smile as he swayed slowly to the left; after one slash, he transformed into black smoke. 0

Cui Ming called out, "Eleven o'clock direction, forty-seven meters." 0

Ding Ze attacked again, causing another explosion where Jack had been. In his invisible state, Jack couldn't use Force to accelerate or run away; he couldn't evade Ding Ze's attack either. This was a weakness of practitioners who relied on invisibility. Jack suffered continuous blows as his body’s Force fluctuated and began to backfire. With a malicious smile directed at Ding Ze on the rooftop, he vanished from sight. As Cui Ming's Fate Card reached its limit and could no longer detect Force fluctuations, he shook his head at Ding Ze. 0

Ten seconds later, Li Qing expelled the Psychic Force and returned to normal, feeling quite annoyed. "I won't curse, I won't curse," he muttered. He was originally the nemesis of the invisible Force, but he had been hit by the opponent's mental attack, feeling as if he had fallen into a trap. The mental attacks from Spiritual Connection were quite powerful, capable of briefly controlling a person to attack their own allies. At the same time, as long as one was on guard, it was difficult to be hit. In such situations, Spiritual Connection would devise various tricks to ensnare the opponent, such as the invisible clown bomb created by Jack. If it were just Li Qing alone, he would have no means of resistance and would undoubtedly face death. 0

However, with Beiyue alongside him, there would be no problem because Jack wouldn't dare to attack Li Qing. Attacking Li Qing might not necessarily kill him, given that he was a support-type enhancement practitioner. Moreover, revealing himself would mean facing Beiyue directly. Practitioners of Spiritual Connection had weak defensive capabilities; once they actively or passively revealed themselves and were approached closely, Beiyue could easily inflict serious injury or even kill Jack. 0

Ding Ze's energy-based attack power was exceptionally strong; those two bolts of energy lightning were enough to severely injure Jack. He not only had to consider retreating but also whether he could save his own life. Jack was fortunate this time; Li Qing and the others did not pursue him because they were unaware of how many people Jack had with him. If they were lured away, Mi Xiaonan would be in grave danger. 0

Cui Ming asked, "Is that all you can do?" 0

Ding Ze replied, "I’m too lazy to use other moves." With that, he descended and returned home. 0

Why did Jack attack Mi Xiaonan? Perhaps there was an answer, or perhaps there wasn't; maybe Jack was simply a madman. Even Pirate King Ronk held back three points from such a lunatic. Jack was also one of the top ten wanted criminals in the alliance because he was not only a high-priced assassin who took jobs from practitioners but also accepted contracts from ordinary people. He had been involved in multiple political assassinations and even killed for pleasure. 0

... 0

Half an hour later, Mi Xiaonan woke up but couldn't speak yet; he first needed to heal. Evelyn arrived shortly after and was shocked to hear that Jack had been spotted. She immediately began pursuing him. Pursuing criminals was Evelyn's specialty; tracking footprints and scents were her forte. Although Jack hadn't triggered any traps, if she became careless because of that, it was very likely she could catch up to him. As the sheriff, she had her own methods for capturing people and wasn't afraid of being killed by Jack; she theoretically understood Most Wanted Criminals very well. 0

If Eva could still be considered a rational assassin, Joker Jack was purely a madman. According to Evelyn's judgment, there was about a 10% chance that Eva would return to vent her anger on Cui Ming, while there was over a 50% chance that Jack would strike again. 0

The awakened Mi Xiaonan recounted his experience. 0

After disembarking from the ship, he took a taxi to report to the villa. It was still early in the day, and there weren't many people on the road. A clown stood in the middle of the street tossing three balls back and forth; when the taxi driver honked his horn, the clown stepped aside. Mi Xiaonan wasn't clear about the exact location of the villa; he got out nearby and asked security for directions before walking toward it. Then he encountered an unexpected attack. Reacting swiftly without considering who attacked him or his current situation, Mi Xiaonan immediately formed hand seals and activated Ninjutsu as he dashed toward the villa. 0

He could tolerate Eva's presence, but he couldn't tolerate Jack's madness; with someone so unhinged, the safest method was to eliminate him. Beiyue teamed up with Ding Ze while Li Qing, Mi Xiaonan, and Cui Ming formed another group using walkie-talkies to coordinate their pursuit of Jack with Evelyn. The police from Department 101 set up totems at various intersections; these totems were treasures gifted by the alliance to City-State Law Enforcement Officers that could sense Force fluctuations within five hundred meters. However, the downside of these totems was that they were easily destroyed and could only indicate that there were Force Practitioners within five hundred meters without distinguishing friend from foe. 0

Evelyn activated another ability, her sensing ability. She materialized Force, enhancing her nose and eyes to see and smell the traces of the suspect. Unfortunately, there were too many people in the city, and Evelyn lost the trail after just ten kilometers. The good news was that Jack wouldn’t dare to heal within that distance, which would inevitably worsen his injuries. This also indicated that Jack wasn't reckless enough to disregard everything. 0

Beiyue and the others centered their search around the ten-kilometer radius, not to find Jack, but to force him to stop healing as much as possible, thereby exacerbating his injuries. Theoretically, if Jack did not cease moving to heal within a certain timeframe, he risked falling into an Unconscious state. In that state, Force would attempt self-repair, but with lower efficiency. With so many people in the city, a half-hour of Unconsciousness could make a fool virtually undetectable. 0

The worse possibility was that Jack had companions. Whether or not they were practitioners, they could use cars or other means of transportation to escape the area while Jack continued to heal. 0
