Tu Ling stepped slowly into the cool water, the clear stream rising to her ankles. She furrowed her brow slightly, calculating that today’s meal would have to consist of the fish she could catch here.
Her gaze then drifted to the vast forest beyond the stream, where lush trees formed a green sea, mysterious and full of the unknown.
Rising to her feet, her graceful figure appeared particularly enchanting under the sunlight.
With determined steps, Tu Ling entered the woods and selected three sticks of moderate thickness. She then carefully sharpened one end of each stick with her sharp knife.
When these three pointed sticks were handed to the three men, a spark of hope ignited in their eyes.
With weapons in hand, they could finally catch a fish or two, though their speed remained slow.
Watching their clumsy attempts, Tu Ling shook her head slightly and reminded them, “Don’t stab at the fish; aim just below it.”
Purple Night's violet hair fluttered gently in the breeze as he wore an expression of defiance. He thought to himself: What does a female know about hunting? To prove Tu Ling wrong, he deliberately aimed below the fish, only to find that it was as if magic had been cast upon it; he struck true.
Silver Trace and Bai Qi, seeing this, also tried their luck. While not every attempt was successful, they clearly caught many more than before. “This is amazing!” Bai Qi exclaimed, his eyes filled with wonder.
Originally, Tu Ling had only intended to catch ten fish, but as she immersed herself in the beautiful scenery around her and enjoyed it thoroughly, she turned back toward the shore and discovered countless fish leaping about.
A satisfied smile spread across Tu Ling’s face as she immediately directed the others to clean the fish’s insides right there.
Just as they were preparing to take the cleaned fish back to their cave, a dangerous look suddenly crossed Tu Ling’s face. A group of Male Orcs blocked their path, led by one who wore an arrogant expression and demanded that they hand over the fish.
If it were the original owner, she might have obediently handed over the fish and meat to please them. But they were faced with Tu Ling, who had crossed over from another world.
Having survived in a post-apocalyptic world, Tu Ling would never accept such an insult. Anger ignited in her beautiful eyes, and without hesitation, she delivered a resounding slap.
Ordinary strength might not leave a mark on these strong Male Orcs, but Tu Ling's physical abilities had long been enhanced. She infused some of her powers into her palm, and with that slap, the Male Orc was sent flying, crashing heavily onto the stone ground.
Almost instantly, a red and swollen handprint appeared on his face, and the mark seemed to be spreading.
Everyone stared at Tu Ling in shock. Wasn't she supposed to be a weak female?
Tu Ling's cold voice rang out: "Is this how your Matriarch and Faction teach you? Do you think you can speak to leaders of other Factions like this and live?"
Hearing this, the crowd looked at Tu Ling in fear. Only when they met her frost-like gaze did they realize she truly intended to kill them.
The Male Orcs immediately knelt down, admitting their mistakes. They knew well that disrespecting females in the tribe would lead to punishment; if their Matriarch agreed, they could even be executed.
They had dared to treat Tu Ling this way before simply because they thought she was easy to bully. Now, however, things seemed different.
Several Male Orcs lowered their bodies to the ground, not daring to lift their heads, trembling as they spoke: " Lord Tuling, spare us; we were wrong."
Tu Ling slightly raised her chin and added, "Return what you took immediately, and double it."
The Male Orcs didn't dare to hesitate for a moment and quickly agreed.
They looked at Tu Ling, their hearts filled with disbelief. Was it really that easy to come back?
Was that powerful and imposing female the same Matriarch they had known before, who was once weak and brutal?
Regardless of their dazed expressions, Tu Ling took out a massive iron rod that gleamed in the sunlight.
With practiced ease, she arranged three large stones in a circle, creating a makeshift stove.
"What are you standing there for? Get to work," her voice was decisive and strong.
Immediately, Silver Trace grabbed a pot and went to the stream to boil some water, placing it on the stove. Purple Night continued to roast meat, while Bai Qi went to clean up, obediently tossing leaves outside the cave entrance.
"Why do we have to throw away the bed? If we do, we'll have to sleep on the ground," Bai Qi couldn't help but ask.
Tu Ling recalled the feel of the leaves she had just grabbed; they were full of grass clippings, likely just something they had carelessly gathered from the forest. How could sleeping on that be comfortable?
Looking around at their surroundings was even more disheartening. "You all look human; how can this cave be so dirty?"
Bai Qi felt a bit wronged and muttered softly, "I used to keep it clean."
