As Jack continued on steadfastly, he felt the speed advantage that the bicycle brought, making his journey much faster than walking. However, the post- wasteland posed significant obstacles to the bicycle's progress. The road was filled with cracks, debris, and various unexpected barriers, making it difficult for the bicycle to move smoothly. Many times, Jack had to dismount and lead the bicycle through impassable areas, with each step filled with hardship and challenge.
As they left the hustle and bustle of the city and entered the outskirts, the once lush and vibrant natural landscape had become desolate. As far as the eye could see, the dense forests had turned into silent dead trees, and the grasslands had become dry, barren land, all silently telling the tale of the disaster of the apocalypse.
This desolate scene made Jack's mood heavy, but he also understood that in the background of this doomsday, such a scene had become the new normal. Nevertheless, Jack did not give up hope. He still held onto the dream of finding Paradise Town, hoping to find a piece of untamed land there and start anew.
Every time Jack had to get off and walk, it strengthened his determination to find a new home. He knew that every step brought him closer to his dream, even though the journey was filled with difficulties and challenges. As long as he kept moving forward, he would eventually reach his destination. Ah Mao and the other dogs always followed by his side, becoming his strongest support on this long journey.
As Jack and his loyal companions journey along the post-apocalyptic road, they encounter a variety of mutated creatures. Some of these creatures have strange forms, while others move swiftly. They are regular inhabitants of this new world and an inevitable threat on the journey. Fortunately, Jack is always able to timely detect their presence and cleverly avoid them, ensuring the safety of himself and his dogs. These experiences, though filled with peril, also make Jack more familiar with how to survive in this unpredictable world.
On this journey, Jack not only has to confront the threat of mutated creatures but also hopes to find traces of other humans. In this disaster-ravaged world, finding others who have survived holds great significance for Jack. However, the reality is desolate and lonely. He searches through the ruins, hoping to discover signs of life in some corner, but apart from empty streets and abandoned buildings, he finds no evidence of other humans.
This feeling of loneliness constantly reminds Jack that the world he is in now is completely different from before the apocalypse. However, even so, Jack does not feel despair because he cannot find other humans. On the contrary, this situation has strengthened his determination to go to Paradise Town. He believes that in that place called paradise, there must be other survivors, and there must be a community that can help people find hope and dreams again.
As night falls, Jack looks for a place to spend the night. His gaze finally falls on an abandoned house nearby. In the dim yellow light, the house appears particularly gloomy against the thick clouds, as if telling the story of the time before the apocalypse.
Jack gently stopped the bicycle and walked towards the house. He carefully pushed open the door, and the slight creaking sound of the door seemed particularly clear in the silent night. The interior of the house still bore the traces of its past inhabitants, but now everything was covered in dust and sand, indicating that no one had been here for a long time.
In the hallway leading to the living room, Jack discovered two bodies that had turned into white bones. They lay there, as if trying to escape to somewhere before their death, but ultimately could not escape their fate. Another set of white bones sat quietly in a chair in the living room, as if still immersed in memories of the past, never having left.
This scene made Jack's mood heavy. These bones used to belong to living, breathing people with their own stories and dreams, but now all that remains are these silent remains. Jack silently prayed for them in his heart, hoping they could find peace in another world.
To avoid disturbing the former inhabitants, Jack carefully found a relatively clean corner in the house to settle himself and his dogs for the night. Despite the unknown and dangerous world outside, at least for this night, they could have a shelter from the wind and rain.
In this abandoned and pitch-black house, Jack was well aware that no electricity at night meant darkness and cold. So, he began searching the living room for possible light sources and heating supplies. After some searching, Jack's efforts finally paid off as he found some candles and matches, which were truly valuable treasures for seeking a bit of warmth and light in the night.
Jack quickly lit a candle, and the warm yellow light immediately spread around, dispelling some of the cold and darkness. He carefully placed the candle on the table, allowing its brightness to illuminate a larger area. However, just these candles were not enough; they needed more warmth to withstand the cold of the night.
So, Jack used his telekinetic power to smash the nearby chair and use it as makeshift firewood. Although this method was somewhat rough, in this post-apocalyptic world, survival was the most important thing. He carefully stacked the broken wood pieces to create a small fire ready to be lit.
As the fire was successfully ignited, the warm firelight and heat began to spread, bringing a little comfort and solace to Jack and the dogs. On this cold and desolate night, this small fire seemed to become their only reliance and hope, making them feel less lonely and helpless.
Under the glow of the fire, Jack and the dogs sat together, enjoying this rare warm moment. Even though the outside world was still full of unknowns and dangers, at this moment they had a temporary refuge.
