As Emilia concluded her conversation with the Fairy, her gaze shifted and fell upon Peter Parker and Chen Fan, who were huddled together tasting the dishes. This sight made her eyes flicker slightly, prompting her to take a longer look.
It wasn't anger; it was surprise.
— The nine-to-five fairy was actually working overtime!
“Lady Emilia, did you notice anything?” Rem looked up at the approaching Silver-Haired Girl.
Emilia withdrew her gaze and smiled. “There are no dangers around, and no magical beasts in sight!”
After saying that, she glanced at Chen Fan. The Fairy had informed her that a powerful spirit was nearby, one that instilled fear in all the magical beasts of the Beast Forest, preventing them from coming close.
This spirit was not Peter Parker but rather the lazy boy.
“Since there are no dangers ahead, we should pass through the Beast Forest quickly before it gets dark. That way, we can return to Lord Roswaal's mansion first thing in the morning!” Rem calculated the distance and time, presenting herself as sharp and efficient.
“The Beast Forest... is it really dangerous?” Lai Yueang's face turned pale at the mention of the Beast Forest; it reminded him of his days grinding for experience in games.
This place was crawling with monsters, with piles of corpses everywhere!
It was famously known as a burial ground—
The term Beast Forest sent shivers down the Tang Siblings' spines, but after glancing at the approaching Chen Fan, their worries eased. With him around, there shouldn't be any incidents involving magical beasts trying to show off!
They patted their foreheads, feeling more at ease!
The night breeze brushed gently, carrying a coolness that felt distinctly different from the season in the Marvel Universe; here, autumn had already settled in.
The Dragon Car moved through the tranquil forest, enveloped in silence. Not even the chirping of an insect could be heard, only the creaking sound of the car swaying echoed at the edge of the woods.
After two hours had passed, the shadow of Beast Forest finally fell behind the Dragon Car, and at that moment, the occupants inside let out a collective sigh of relief.
"We'll camp here for the night and set off early tomorrow!" Rem guided the Dragon Car to a large tree and came to a steady stop. He called everyone to get out while retrieving some food from the vehicle to place over the rising campfire.
Chen Fan remained inside the Dragon Car, his eyes slightly closed, appearing lost in thought. No one dared to disturb him, especially not when he wore such a serious expression.
...
The firelight flickered on everyone's faces, casting a warm red glow that dispelled the encroaching chill.
After a simple dinner, Lai Yueang let out a satisfied sigh, looking quite content and full. In contrast, the other two siblings struggled to swallow their food, their faces pale.
—They hung their heads in silence.
"Hey sis, is there something wrong with our taste buds?" Tang asked with a hint of doubt as he glanced at his older sister. After all, Lai Yueang was enjoying her meal thoroughly and kept praising the maid's cooking skills.
Tang Xin'er understood well why their meal was unappetizing. From the behavior and attire of the Island Nationer, it was clear they were just ordinary citizens; naturally, their cooking would be average as well.
And what did her brother and she usually eat?
It was either Seven Treasures Mountain Delicacies or exquisite gourmet dishes. Transitioning suddenly to rustic cuisine was bound to be unbearable!
Yohou sighed, "This is the difference between ordinary people and the wealthy!"
After dinner, everyone refrained from chatting. They took a moment to calm their minds before settling down to sleep. A protective barrier had already been set up around them, so there was no need to worry about responding hastily to any emergencies.
At this moment, the strength of the otherworlders became apparent.
They simply laid a carpet on the flat ground and covered themselves with a thin blanket, allowing them to sleep soundly.
The few travelers were dumbfounded.
Sleeping like this? Weren't they afraid of discomfort? Of dampness? Of rheumatism and arthritis?
What would pampered modern people do in such a situation? They were panicking!
As the night passed, dawn broke gently, accompanied by the cool morning breeze. A series of sneezes echoed through the air; two of the modern individuals had caught a cold the previous night.
Tang Xin'er, with her warrior physique, fared relatively well. Beneath her delicate exterior lay a strong constitution. She hadn’t slept at all but had dozed lightly—well, in warrior terms, she had been meditating and circulating her energy.
So after a night had passed, she still felt quite energetic.
The other two, however, looked miserable, their faces expressing despair as they rhythmically sneezed: "Achoo! Achoo!!!"
“Leah, you need to help them out, or we’ll be drenched in their spit!” Peter Parker yawned, his body weary but his mind alert, unable to fall asleep despite his exhaustion.
Yohou's gaze fell upon a corner of the Dragon Car, where the boy lay peacefully asleep. It felt envious and puzzled; despite consuming more food, how could he sleep so soundly?
Even without Peter Parker's reminder, Emilia had no intention of ignoring the two additional patients she noticed.
She extended her hands, intertwining them as she conjured something from thin air. Her delicate lips moved slightly, producing a light sound. Two hazy halos solidified into a magic circle, releasing specks of starlight that enveloped the trembling figures.
After about three minutes, the magic circle slowly faded away. Tang and Lai Yueang blinked in surprise as their fatigue and discomfort vanished; their colds were cured.
They exchanged glances, their eyes clearly conveying the same thought: This truly is another world!
“This is healing magic?” Chen Fan woke up after sensing the unusual aura. Rubbing his eyes and pondering for a moment, he extended his hand under the curious gazes of everyone around him. His index finger traced an intricate pattern, and suddenly a chibi-style magic circle extended from his fingertip, appearing as solid as jade—clear and translucent.
Peter Parker slapped his cheek and asked skeptically, “Chen Fan… you’re not an elf too, are you?”
Only elves and those who had made contracts with elves could wield elven magic; it was a unique form of magic exclusive to these two groups. Unlike common magic that anyone with elemental affinity could learn, elven magic was special.
“When I communicated with Fairy yesterday… they seemed to think you were an elf too, Lord Chen Fan! And a very powerful one at that!” Emilia remarked lightly, her eyes brightening, especially when she looked at the magic circle at the boy's fingertip. The concentrated magical energy was immense and refined.
In response to the curious gazes around him, Chen Fan waved his hand, causing the magic circle to dissipate instantly. He smirked and said, “I’m not an elf. The reason I can use magic is due to my Blessing!”
“As long as it's knowledge I want to learn, I can grasp it instantly. Magic is just a form of knowledge; it still counts as part of my Blessing’s abilities!”
“Blessing? This Blessing is quite similar to Reinhardt's!” Peter Parker said with a jealous look, not hiding his feelings at all. He understood why this boy had become so strong—because they were both favored children of the world!
“I really look forward to seeing you and Reinhardt have a duel; it would definitely be exciting!” Peter Parker continued. If two Cheat Codes went head-to-head, which side would the world lean towards? He was very curious!
Chen Fan rolled his eyes at this.
“Can I learn magic too?” Lai Yueang rubbed his hands together, his eyes filled with intense desire. Magic! This was magic!
“This?” Under Lai Yueang's intense gaze, Peter Parker felt a shiver run down his spine and grinned, “...When we get back to Roswaal's mansion, I'll help you test it out!”
“As long as your elemental perception isn't too poor, learning one or two spells should be quite easy!”
Lai Yueang's question also piqued the interest of the siblings. They didn't look at Peter Parker or Emilia but focused their gaze on Chen Fan.
“If you two want to learn, just go ahead and do it!” Chen Fan said lightly with a knowing smile. “Don’t forget that mark I gave you yesterday; it has many benefits!”
This wasn’t because Chen Fan valued the siblings highly or wanted to give them great advantages; rather, in his eyes, the adventures of ordinary people were as effortless as those of a god.
What seemed like common goods to Chen Fan could become significant opportunities in the hands of ordinary people!
