Yang Bing, filled with rage, suddenly pushed the aggressive Ye Tong aside and glared at him, shouting, "If you mess up my plans, I swear I'll kill you right now."
Ye Tong felt a wave of brutal ferocity erupt from Yang Bing, rushing toward him like a tidal wave. Terrified, he quickly stepped back and stammered, "Mr. Yang, I was just trying to scare him. Look at my head and face—he's the one who did this to me."
In truth, even if Yang Bing handed a gun to Ye Tong right now, he wouldn't dare to shoot Shen Kun. He was good at intimidating others but lacked the courage to kill. Seeing Shen Kun cowering only made him want to take revenge on him even more; that was all there was to it. To put it bluntly, he was just a bully relying on his connections.
Yang Bing glared fiercely at Ye Tong, who timidly shut his mouth and took another step back. However, deep down in Ye Tong's heart, he had already developed a deep-seated hatred for Yang Bing.
Damn it, one day I’ll make you kneel before me begging for mercy. Just wait and see.
Having scared Ye Tong off, Yang Bing turned his dark expression toward Shen Kun, who was still bouncing nervously in place, and coldly asked, "You’re not dying on me now, are you?"
Shen Kun jolted upright; suddenly his back didn’t ache and his legs didn’t hurt anymore. He forced himself to endure the pain in his groin and nodded repeatedly at Yang Bing. "Mr. Yang, uh... I'm fine."
"Good. Let’s go," Yang Bing commanded expressionlessly.
Shen Kun shot a fierce glare at Ye Tong before bending over to pull open the door.
While others seemed unfazed, Ye Tong broke out in a cold sweat from Shen Kun's glance.
Damn it, why am I such a coward? Even if I want to deal with this guy, I should wait until I'm sure I won't face any retaliation first. What if we can't escape later and end up in their hands? Wouldn't that mean certain death for me?
Pale-faced with fear, Ye Tong had become the most eager to escape from this place.
Without considering Ye Tong, Yang Bing pushed Shen Kun out of the door. As Shen Kun saw the group of accomplices gathered in the courtyard ahead, he immediately felt a surge of energy, his body trembling as if he was about to make a move.
Yang Bing, who had been on guard, quickly reached out and grabbed Shen Kun by the neck, pressing the gun's muzzle against Shen Kun's waist. In a low voice, he warned, "If you dare to move, I'll take your life right here."
Shen Kun shivered and hurriedly said to Yang Bing, "I won't move, I won't move."
Yang Bing snorted and quietly ordered Shen Kun, "You tell them to put down their guns."
Shen Kun felt a wave of despair wash over him. He forced a smile and replied to Yang Bing, "Mr. Yang, that's probably impossible. Even if I asked them, or even if Charlie did, they probably wouldn't listen."
The composition of this gang was quite complex. Most of them were pirates originally led by Charlie; they had once been part of a failing mercenary organization. Unable to survive in the mercenary business, they turned to piracy. This group still listened to Charlie's orders, but they only respected him as their leader. They held little regard for Shen Kun, who had joined later. At best, they gave him some face because of his clever ideas that helped them make money. Among these people were others with more complicated backgrounds—murderers, kidnappers, drug dealers—everyone was a desperate outlaw who had joined Charlie's organization when they had nowhere else to turn. However, they all shared one common trait: each of them valued their guns above all else and would go to great lengths to customize their weapons for better handling. If someone asked them to put down their guns, their first reaction would be that it was an attempt to harm them. Even Charlie didn't dare to order these people to lay down their weapons.
Yang Bing stared at Shen Kun with a dark expression after hearing his response.
Shen Kun was almost in tears as he pleaded softly with Yang Bing, "Mr. Yang, Dad Yang, I really can't do it. If it were something else, they might listen to me; but asking them to put down their guns? They would probably shoot me on the spot."
Yang Bing frowned and glanced at the noisy group of bandits in the square, starting to believe Shen Kun's words.
How could such a rabble willingly submit to Shen Kun's commands?
With a quivering voice tinged with desperation, Shen Kun suggested to Yang Bing, "Mr. Yang, how about I just escort you out of here? These people are not easy to deal with. However, I can guarantee that I can get you out safely alone; if Charlie comes asking later, I'll take full responsibility."
Yang Bing let out a sneer; while Shen Kun's words sounded noble, they felt like an insult in his ears.
Yang Bing gripped Shen Kun's neck, pushing him toward the group of bandits. Shen Kun's legs trembled uncontrollably.
Everyone is born of parents; who isn't afraid of death?
Although Shen Kun had committed serious crimes in his home country and fled abroad, joining Charlie's gang in numerous heinous acts, his hands stained with blood, when faced with the prospect of death, he felt a surge of fear. Otherwise, why would he be calling out for Yang's father?
With one hand still gripping Shen Kun's neck and the other holding the seized Assault Rifle, Yang Bing approached the bandits, coldly saying to Shen Kun, "I’m not someone who kills innocents indiscriminately."
Shen Kun hurriedly nodded repeatedly, "Yes, yes, yes! Mr. Yang looks like a good person..."
At that moment, the group of bandits noticed Shen Kun and Yang Bing approaching. One of them shouted at Shen Kun, "You bastard Shen Kun! What are you gathering us for? Charlie isn’t home; do you really think you’re the boss?"
Yang Bing let out a cold laugh and pulled the trigger without hesitation. Only then did he finish his sentence: "Unfortunately, none of you are human."
The angry bullets surged forth with flames toward the thugs in the square. The bandits had not expected Shen Kun's 'partner' to suddenly open fire on them, causing instant chaos.
Shen Kun felt a jolt of panic; he instinctively ducked down and broke free from Yang Bing's grip on his neck. Without hesitation, he rolled away to the side.
In front of him were two or three dozen disorganized bandits. Yang Bing wouldn’t lower his gun just to shoot Shen Kun alone. However, he didn’t give up on him either. With his free hand, he swiftly drew Shen Kun’s handgun from his waist and fired two shots in the direction of Shen Kun’s figure.
The bandits had initially huddled together, but at the sound of gunfire from Yang Bing, aside from the first seven or eight who were taken down by his initial shots, the rest scattered in a panic. These were seasoned fighters who had tasted blood; as they sought cover, some raised their guns and aimed at Yang Bing.
