The helicopter hovered above the forest, with Bian leaning out, one foot on the landing gear, intently scanning the ground below. Occasionally, he fired a shot at places he suspected might be hiding someone, trying to flush Zhao Jun and the others out of their concealment. 0

The black dog also pulled out a handgun, occasionally sticking it out of the window and firing aimlessly. Sitting in the helicopter, he showed no concern for his own safety. 0

As the helicopter flew forward, it reached an open area where the trees were relatively sparse. Suddenly, the black dog shouted to Bian, "Bian, they're over there." 0

"Fly over," Bian replied, having spotted Tang Hao'er standing in the clearing with her hands raised, looking up at the helicopter. He couldn't help but shout with excitement. 0

The helicopter quickly approached Tang Hao'er. Bian leaned out further, one foot still on the landing gear, and pointed his gun at her while shouting, "Don't move! Where are the others?" 0

Tang Hao'er raised her hands and called out pitifully to Bian in the helicopter, "I got separated from them! I'm hungry; please take me back!" 0

Her sense of grievance was clearly feigned, but she was genuinely hungry. Since running away that morning, she had been on the move and hiding; her stomach had been growling for quite some time. 0

Bian and the black dog couldn't help but laugh at Tang Hao'er's response. They knew that these pampered rabbits couldn't handle the rigors of survival in the wild. It wouldn't take long before hunger drove them to surrender; this girl was already on the verge of breaking. 0

Bian chuckled and said to the black dog, "Let me down; I'll bring her up." 0

The black dog cautioned him, "Bian, be careful. The pair of shoes we found earlier means that whoever killed Rang is definitely nearby and armed." 0

Bian paused for a moment and then called out to Tang Hao'er, "Did you kill Rang?" 0

Tang Hao'er shook her head frantically. "I didn't kill anyone! I got separated from them when I ran away! I don't know where they are; please take me back! I can give you money!" 0

Bian squinted as he surveyed the surrounding forest. He certainly believed that Tang Hao'er, this delicate girl, could not have killed Rang; she probably wouldn't even dare to harm a fish. 0

After examining the area carefully, he shouted at Tang Hao'er, "Stay right there and don't move." 0

Tang Hao'er responded obediently with a soft "Okay," raising her hands as if she were a good girl. However, her pitiful plea nearly drove Bian and the black dog to their breaking point: "Can I lower my hands? My arms are getting sore." 0

The black dog laughed heartily at Bian and said, "She really is something else—conditional surrender! Damn it, now I suddenly want to ride a horse..." 0

Bian aimed his gun at Tang Hao'er and shouted, "Put your hands on your head and crouch down. I'm coming down to get you." 0

Tang Hao'er obediently followed Bian's instructions, placing her hands on her head and crouching down. Bian raised his gun and swept it around the area where people might be hiding, causing Tang Hao'er to scream in terror. 0

This time, Tang Hao'er was genuinely frightened. Zhao Jun and Li Wei were hiding behind a few nearby trees, and Bian's reckless shooting could easily hit them. 0

Li Wei, hiding behind the tree, nervously pointed his gun at Bian in the helicopter, his finger trembling slightly on the trigger. 0

This wasn't a paintball gun; the bullets fired could be deadly. 0

Zhao Jun, also tense, watched the helicopter hovering above. A few bullets from Bian had struck the tree he was hiding behind, sending bark and leaves flying. He knew that Bian was just conducting a firepower reconnaissance for safety reasons; there was no way he could spot them hidden beneath the tree canopy. 0

Zhao Jun took a moment to glance at Li Wei and Cheng Zhengxiong's hiding spot. Seeing Li Wei's anxious expression made him frown slightly. He picked up a stone and tossed it near Li Wei to draw his attention. 0

"Just don't lose your cool," he thought. "If you fire your weapon, Tang Hao'er out in the open will be in danger." 0

Li Wei looked toward Zhao Jun, who slowly raised a hand and gestured downward with his palm, mouthing, "Relax, relax." 0

Li Wei nodded vigorously, took several deep breaths, and turned his gaze back to the helicopter circling overhead. 0

The transport helicopter was a massive presence above them. The rotor blades whipped up strong winds that made the treetops sway violently, causing fragile branches and leaves to snap off. The immense pressure from the helicopter made it hard for them to breathe. 0

Zhao Jun glanced over at Cheng Zhengxiong and Su Mei. Cheng Zhengxiong was covering Su Mei's mouth while looking back at him. Their eyes met, and Cheng Zhengxiong nodded at Zhao Jun. 0

Zhao Jun returned the nod. He could tell that Cheng Zhengxiong had much better composure than Li Wei. If it weren't for Cheng Zhengxiong's shoulder injury, he would have handed over the AUG to him. 0

After finishing a magazine, Bian saw that there were no signs of anyone around Tang Hao'er. He turned to Black Dog and said, "I'm going down; keep an eye on the surroundings for me." 0

Black Dog raised his handgun with a grin and replied, "Don't worry; I've got this. Just make sure not to hurt my rabbit." 0

Bian laughed lightly as the black dog maneuvered the helicopter to a suitable spot. He grabbed the rope from inside the cabin and tossed it out of the door. 0

The helicopter was only six or seven meters above the ground when Bian threw the rope. Just as he was about to grab it and slide down, Zhao Jun suddenly burst out from behind a tree like a leopard, crouching down to pick up a large coil of rope left on the ground. He shouted loudly at Tang Hao'er, "Hao'er, run! Shoot!" 0

"Damn it, it's a trap!" Bian exclaimed in shock, hurriedly raising his Assault Rifle and pulling the trigger at Zhao Jun. 0

However, Zhao Jun had already dashed back behind the tree, frantically wrapping the rope around it and running in circles three or four times to tie a tight knot. 0

"Rat-tat-tat," the Assault Rifle in Bian's hands made a clicking sound; he had forgotten to change the magazine after firing all the bullets. 0

"Da-da-da-da," Li Wei's AUG erupted in flames almost simultaneously with Zhao Jun's shout to fire, sending a stream of bullets straight toward the helicopter. 0

The black dog panicked and quickly pulled up the helicopter, completely unaware that the rope dropped from above had already been tied to the tree by Zhao Jun. 0

Bian fumbled to change magazines. Just as he pulled one out, a sharp pain shot through his neck. With a scream, Bian fell directly from the helicopter. 0

Below, after securing the rope, Zhao Jun wasted no time and jumped out again, charging toward Tang Hao'er, who had gotten up and was running into the woods. 0

With himself now in sight of the bandits, they would surely choose to shoot at him first before targeting Tang Hao'er. 0

Zhao Jun's thoughts were simple: a man should take responsibility like a man. 0
