In the morning sunlight, Jack woke up startled. He struggled to open his eyes, only to find no one beside him. Mr. Tang was gone, leaving the room empty with only him. He quickly sat up, looking around, trying to find some clues or messages, if Mr. Tang had left anything behind.
Jack's eyes scanned every corner of the room, and he found a note placed on the table. He hurried over, picked up the note, and read the few lines written on it.
"Jack, I know your choice, but I have to do something. I can't let you get into danger. Please don't pursue me, continue your journey, stay alert. Good luck, Mr. Tang" After reading the note, Jack's mood became even more uneasy and confused. He couldn't help but start thinking about what Mr. Tang said and his actions. What exactly does Mr. Tang want to do, and why did he suddenly leave? Jack was filled with questions.
At that moment, an even more worrying thought came to Jack's mind. He suddenly remembered that yesterday Mr. Tang had suggested killing the old man. Jack realized that Mr. Tang might have some suspicion about the old man, or he might have some hidden motive. This made him even more worried about the old man's safety. He thought about the possible ways Mr. Tang listed to frame someone, and also thought that Mr. Tang might have already taken action.
Jack rushed out of the room in a state of nervous tension, searching frantically in the narrow house. He was afraid of missing a corner and inadvertently overlooking the old man's trail. He carefully inspected every room and every corner, fearing that the old man might be hiding in some inconspicuous place.
Jack's heart began to race, and his thoughts became jumbled. He couldn't understand why Mr. Tang would suddenly leave, nor did he know the old man's condition. His worry and anxiety churned in his mind, and he increasingly longed to find the old man and ensure his safety.
However, despite Jack's growing concern, he searched the house over and over, but still found no trace of the old man. This sense of helplessness weighed heavily on him, and he felt that he might have missed some important clues. Jack couldn't help but wonder if there was another way to find the old man, while also praying in his heart for the old man's safety.
He rushed out of the door, trying to find the old man's whereabouts. However, after only a few steps, he heard the voice of the old man coming from behind him. "Young man, why the rush? Just like your companion." Jack's steps came to a sudden halt as he turned to look at the source of the voice, only to see the old man sitting leisurely in a rocking chair outside the door, casually smoking a cigarette.
Jack was slightly surprised to see the old man sitting here, seemingly unthreatened or in danger. He hurried over to the old man, feeling relieved but also filled with questions about what Mr. Tang had said.
"Where is the other person?" Jack asked eagerly, scanning the surroundings in hopes of finding Mr. Tang's whereabouts.
The old man smiled calmly, and the smoke in his hand slowly dissipated in the air. "It seems like he left for something, but he asked me to convey a message: 'It's my turn to play with the mecha now.'"
Upon hearing this, Jack couldn't help but laugh. Although he still had some questions in his mind, at least he could be sure that the old man hadn't been threatened. He immediately asked the old man where the nearest station was.
The old man raised his head and gazed at Jack for a moment, as if pondering something. Finally, he nodded slowly and pointed in a direction in the distance. "There is a small village over there with a station. You can take a train from there to your destination."
Jack gratefully smiled and nodded at the old man. "Thank you very much for your help, and thank you for your kindness."
The old man smiled gently, his eyes revealing a hint of warmth. "Young man, I wish you a smooth journey, and may you find the answers you seek."
Jack sincerely thanked the old man for his blessing, then turned to prepare for the journey back home. With his luggage on his back, he carried both the doubts about Mr. Tang's departure and the anticipation for the unknown journey in his heart.
Jack returned to their hiding place and as soon as he entered, he saw Lucy and Li Ang waiting for him. Lucy's brows were furrowed, while Li Ang seemed a bit impatient, both of them showing signs of unease.
Lucy spoke first, "Jack, where did you go? We've been looking for you all day!"
Li Ang also echoed, "Yeah, how come you suddenly disappeared?"
Jack felt the dissatisfaction of the two and knew in his heart that his behavior might have worried them. He quickly walked up to them and apologetically said, "I'm sorry, Lucy, Li Ang, I didn't mean to not tell you. The situation is a bit complicated, I will explain it to you."
Lucy's expression softened slightly, but she still stared at Jack with some confusion. "Okay, explain to me, what exactly happened?"
Jack began to recount his experience, starting from when he received the letter from Duel Kingdom, going to Duel Kingdom to participate in the auction and discovering the involvement of the Black Shadow Company, encountering Mr. Tang, and fighting his way out of the situation. Finally, he dramatically met little bean's grandfather. He tried to explain the whole process in detail to Lucy and Li Ang, so they could understand his choices and actions.
After Jack finished speaking, Lucy and Li Ang's expressions became even more complicated. Lucy frowned, clearly worried about Mr. Tang's sudden disappearance and the involvement of the Black Shadow Company. Li Ang remained silent for a moment, then looked deeply at Jack and said, "Are you sure you did the right thing? We really need to be careful now, or we might end up in even greater danger."
Jack knew Li Ang was right, and nodded. "I understand. I also feel uneasy, but I feel like I can't just sit passively and wait. I have to understand more and find out the truth."
Lucy gave a light cough and said, "Alright, Jack, since you've made up your mind, let's face it together. We must unite and deal with this situation together."
At this point, Li Ang raised a question, "But, Jack, you said that part of the arena was bombed. Can the competition still proceed as normal?"
Jack's face showed a look of embarrassment. He understood Li Ang's concern and explained, "The area that was bombed was just the parking lot, which doesn't have much impact on the actual competition. There are multiple areas within the arena, and we only destroyed one of them."
Jack continued to explain, "Moreover, we should be able to focus on activities outside the arena and find more clues about little bean. I believe there must be more unknown secrets about him, and as long as we can get close to him, perhaps we can discover some valuable information."
Lucy immediately proposed a new plan, "How about this: you go to the arena and perform well in the competition, which will give you a chance to get close to little bean. Meanwhile, we can prepare behind the scenes and wait for the right moment to question him."
Jack nodded in agreement, thinking the plan was feasible. "Right, this way we can divide and conquer while ensuring we don't raise too much suspicion. Once I achieve some success in the arena and get close to little bean, you can intervene, and together we can question him, perhaps revealing more information."
All three nodded, seemingly having their own plans in mind. Lucy spoke up, "The mecha also needs some adjustments. After all, 'Roc Wings' is currently in the spotlight. We need a different model of mecha to avoid attracting too much attention."
Li Ang continued, "Yes, I've been improving the TTD core recently and we're on the verge of a breakthrough. This will make our mecha even more powerful and better equipped to face future challenges."
Three people secretly made a decision. They decided to achieve excellent results in the upcoming "Duel Kingdom" competition as an opportunity to further penetrate the inner workings of the "Black Shadow Company" and understand their conspiracy and true purpose. On the dangerous path ahead, they knew that only by working together could they unveil the dark veil and bring light to the world.
