After the event, Lucy and Jack were discussing the progress of their investigation into the Black Shadow Company on their way back to the secret base. Despite obtaining some valuable information, the whole situation remained shrouded in mystery. Jack couldn't help but furrow his brow, feeling that something was not quite right.
At the same time, "War dog" Victor Kael was also returning to his residence. Despite appearing calm after the event, he was filled with unease. The city was filled with war and chaos, and mecha knights were highly esteemed there. In that chaotic land, he became a mercenary, using his skills and past leadership experience to quickly establish his own mercenary group, named "War Dog."
The purpose of "War dog" is very simple, which is absolute loyalty to money. He understands that in this world filled with war and interests, money is the only thing he can rely on. In that land of flying war, his mercenary group can survive and thrive, and he has regained some dignity and confidence because of it.
However, in a dangerous mission, "War dog" faced an unprecedented challenge. Their employer demanded that they attack a military factory in the border area, hoping to change the course of the war by destroying the production chain. Victor thought it was just a simple sabotage mission, but he soon realized that the situation was far more serious than he had imagined.
They launched the operation according to the original plan, using the mobility and powerful firepower of the mechs to quickly suppress the defensive firepower of the factory and arranging for their subordinates to install explosives. However, just as they were on guard, a large number of enemy forces suddenly appeared, rushing in like a flood. Although the members of "War dog" were all brave and skilled warriors, they quickly found themselves in a bitter struggle against the overwhelming enemy numbers.
The battlefield was constantly changing, with intense gunfire and the sound of mechs colliding filling the air. The members of "War dog" fought desperately, but the enemy's numerical and tactical superiority made it difficult for them to escape their predicament. He continuously devised new tactics on the battlefield, commanding his subordinates to counterattack, demonstrating extraordinary combat skills and leadership in an attempt to protect his team. However, the overwhelming number of enemies gradually forced them into a corner.
In the intense battle, members of 'War dog' fell one after another, leaving Victor isolated and helpless. His mecha suffered severe damage under the enemy's siege, making it difficult to control. As the situation became increasingly dire, he could only give it his all and struggle to resist the enemy's onslaught.
However, he realized that the situation was irredeemable. Just as he decided to fight to the death, a shockwave suddenly exploded, causing a strong vibration and noise. Victor was shaken unconscious, and the mecha also suffered a massive blow.
When he woke up again, he found himself lying in a strange place. Surrounding him was a well-lit hospital ward with bright lights and white walls, which left him feeling somewhat confused. He removed some of the devices attached to his body and observed the room. On the table, there was a neatly arranged set of clothes, as well as some food and water. Victor felt confused but also somewhat reassured that at least his basic needs were being taken care of. However, when he tried to open the door, he found that he couldn't leave easily; the door seemed to be locked.
"Victor Kael, you're finally awake!" The voice carried a hint of mockery.
Victor was startled, realizing that he was being watched. He nervously looked around the room, trying to identify the source of the sound.
"Who are you? Why have you brought me here?" Victor asked anxiously, his voice filled with anger.
"Don't be in a hurry, Captain Victor," the man's voice continued, with a hint of ease, "After finally leaving Beta, the 'War dog' corps that was painstakingly cultivated was actually annihilated. Oh, you really are unlucky." Victor listened to the words of this stranger, anger surging in his heart, unable to accept the fate of his corps being destroyed.
"Say whatever you want," Victor's voice was full of anger, "you can either kill me right now, or let me go, otherwise I'll kill you as soon as I leave!"
The man continued, "Alright, alright, I won't make you angry," his voice contained a hint of humor, as if he didn't care about Victor's anger.
"But now, isn't there another member of War dog, Victor Kael?" His words carried a hint of provocation.
Victor made no response, just flipping off the surveillance cameras that were nowhere to be found in the room, his eyes showing a firm defiance.
"Let's do it this way, Mr. Victor," the man continued, "Our company, although prestigious, is lacking skilled individuals. It's our duty to defend and retaliate when our factory is attacked. When I saw your impressive combat skills, I immediately requested the higher-ups to hire you. So, you're alive now because of me."
Victor listened to the man's words coldly, filled with suspicion and caution. He didn't know the man's true identity or the intentions of the organization he represented. However, he wasn't planning to give up the opportunity to stay alive easily.
"Do you think I would just casually join you like this?" Victor's voice carried a firm tone, "I need more information and assurances before I consider it."
The man laughed, seemingly unimpressed by Victor's attitude, "Alright, alright, Mr. Victor, we are not insincere. Whenever you are ready, you can tell me." His voice carried a subtle and unsettling strangeness, making Victor feel even more uneasy.
Later, the lock on the door was opened, and Victor was set free. However, his freedom came with an invisible restraint. He was quickly arranged to become their enforcer, carrying out plans for sabotage and solo combat. Each mission left him puzzled about the true meaning behind it, and he could only follow the instructions from above.
As for the mysterious man, he was not clear about his name, only knowing that he was referred to by everyone as "Tiger Man." And within this organization, it seemed there was an even higher presence known as "The Doctor." As for this mysterious company, they called themselves the "Black Shadow Company."
Victor gradually began to understand the operational mode of Black Shadow Company. This organization seems to manipulate many things and has its own unknown purposes. His mind was full of questions, and he knew he had to find out the truth behind it in order to ensure his survival and freedom.
Through mission after mission, Victor gradually became more powerful. His combat skills became more proficient, and his operation of mechs became more precise. However, he could never ignore the shadow organization he was in, as well as the enigmatic man known as "the Doctor."
