She couldn't outrun the monster. 0

Xu Nuan understood this very well; the monster's powerful limbs allowed it to roam freely in the jungle, hunting at will. However, Xu Nuan's gaze darkened. If speed was not an option, then she would have to find another way. 0

The initial panic and fear gradually faded, replaced by a desperate will to survive that ignited her brain into action. Abandoning the Folding Military Knife at her waist, Xu Nuan slowly retrieved a twenty-centimeter-long Bayonet from the side of her backpack, all while keeping her eyes fixed on the grinning monster across from her. 0

The dim light cast shadows from both her and the monster, flickering between darkness and light. The unhealed wound on her lip began to bleed, and Xu Nuan pressed her lips together, noting with no surprise that the monster's low growls grew more frantic. 0

Time flowed silently, and their mutual probing had yet to cease. 0

When she saw the monster start to sharpen its claws against each other, Xu Nuan knew it had lost patience. Her left thumb pressed against the hilt of the Bayonet, its sharpest point subtly directed outward. Xu Nuan swallowed hard, waiting for the perfect moment. 0

Her breaths quickened, her heart raced violently, and sweat trickled down her forehead, some droplets landing on her eyelashes. 0

This was instinctive reaction. 0

As the monster lunged at her with lightning speed, Xu Nuan nimbly dodged its right claw and seized its arm with her right hand. Locking its shoulder and pushing against its neck made her feel nauseous, but there was no time for hesitation. As she circled behind the monster, her left hand struck like lightning, plunging the Bayonet deep into its thick fur. From the monster's agonized scream, Xu Nuan knew that the blood reservoir had done its job. 0

This was precisely why she had taken the Bayonet from the Supply Station. 0

Before she could catch her breath, the shrieking monster suddenly turned around. Its frenzied claws swept toward Xu Nuan like a raging wind. She quickly pulled back the Bayonet to cross it defensively in front of her but still felt the fabric of her clothes tear under its assault. 0

The monster's attacks became wild and relentless as it charged toward Xu Nuan at breakneck speed. She hurriedly tried to block its advances while retreating, appearing vulnerable and on the brink of collapse. 0

The Skeleton-faced Monster let out a series of high-pitched, triumphant laughs, startling the birds that had been quietly perched on the branches. 0

Is this what it takes to feel proud? 0

A cold glint flickered in Xu Nuan's light brown eyes. Though her expression showed signs of retreat, she could only defend herself and not attack. The creatures here were strange and aggressive, but no matter how powerful they were, their intelligence could never surpass that of humans. 0

As she was continuously slashed without any real injury to her flesh, the monster grew increasingly impatient. 0

In the next moment, Xu Nuan stepped on a dry twig and stumbled backward. The monster's eyes lit up with excitement as it spread its arms wide, its blades glinting ominously in the sunlight. 0

Just as the monster thought it could sever Xu Nuan's head from her body, she rolled over on the ground. Seizing the opportunity presented by the monster exposing its chest during its attack, she lunged forward like a fierce tiger, driving her Bayonet deep into the creature's heart. 0

The immense shock sent the monster into a frenzy. It flailed its blade-like hands wildly, finally plunging one into Xu Nuan's shoulder. Warm blood sprayed out, and the scent of blood drove the monster further into madness. 0

Xu Nuan gritted her teeth against the excruciating pain in her shoulder and tightened her grip until the monster finally breathed its last. 0

"Hiss." 0

Her face contorted in agony as she pressed her right hand against her bleeding left shoulder. She scanned the restless jungle around her, now stirred by the scent of blood. Gritting her teeth against the pain, she climbed up a nearby tree, using the dense foliage to shield herself from view. 0

As dusk fell, the animals lurking below finished their meal. 0

Hiding in the tree, Xu Nuan finally had the chance to bandage her wounds. However, before she could take out the bandages, she collapsed from excessive blood loss and exhaustion. 0
