Chapter 209: Are You Afraid?
Xiaqiu glared at the several Giant Sea Kings, his expression filled with anger at their audacity.
However, he was surprised to find that he could hear their voices.
As he watched them draw closer, Xiaqiu quickly shouted, "I'm not the killer!"
"Not the killer?"
The Giant Sea Kings paused slightly, then fixed their gaze on Xiaqiu.
"Conversation?"
"That's rare."
These Giant Sea Kings were able to communicate with each other and even understand human speech.
Hearing their voices, Xiaqiu said, "If you don't believe me, ask Shirahoshi."
"Is that... a Giant Sea King?" Shirahoshi looked up at the enormous shadow above her, her face showing signs of fear, yet she sensed their goodwill.
"Mr. Xia is not the killer."
Shirahoshi recalled something and quickly added, "He saved me, and he is my benefactor. He's a good person."
"That's right, that's right! I'm a good person."
Xiaqiu said proudly.
"How could someone so ugly possibly be a good person?" a voice filled with doubt came from one of the Sea Kings.
"You bastard, you still..." Xiaqiu glared at the other, not wanting them to think that just because they were so big, he wouldn't dare to fight back.
"You can't do this."
Princess Shirahoshi said angrily. Xiaqiu felt a surge of joy inside; it seemed that in the eyes of the mermaid, he was still quite handsome.
"Although Mr. Xia doesn't look good, he is indeed a good person," Shirahoshi said seriously.
"What are you talking about?"
Xiaqiu shouted at Shirahoshi, "Shirahoshi, do you believe I’ll eat you?"
Shirahoshi froze for a moment and then burst into tears, "Mr. Xia is bullying me again."
"Again? It seems you've been bullied more than once."
"He's definitely a bad person."
The Giant Sea King observed this scene and slowly lowered its body.
"Bastard."
Seeing this, Xiaqiu cursed loudly and turned to run.
These Sea Kings were longer than Noah's Ark, and he didn't have the ability to defeat them yet. Their mouths were so large that they could easily swallow him whole.
These Sea Kings were much larger than the Island Eater, making Merry seem insignificant compared to the mouth of the Island Eater.
Xiaqiu was limited in size compared to Merry; they could swallow several of their own kind in one bite.
Not worth the trouble, time to run.
Xiaqiu took off, and Shirahoshi, witnessing this scene, hurried after him. "Mr. Xia, wait for me!"
As Shirahoshi caught up, Xiaqiu slowed down. Shirahoshi grabbed hold of Xiaqiu's tail, and then Xiaqiu dashed forward, racing toward Fishman Island.
"What a coward."
"I knew you weren't the killer."
"Just an interesting fellow; I never expected him to talk."
"And his strength is impressive. That power I felt earlier was quite peculiar—was that Conqueror's Haki? It's the first time I've seen it manifest in an animal."
"I have a feeling we'll meet him again in the future."
"Let's head back and wait for the day of our agreement to begin."
The Giant Sea King slowly retreated, disappearing into the distance.
Xiaqiu dove into a bubble and submerged into the water, then gradually floated back up, exhaling a sigh.
That was close.
Even among creatures, I’m not the strongest.
"It's all your fault." Xiaqiu shot a glare at Shirahoshi for attracting such trouble.
"I'm not doing it on purpose."
Shirahoshi was scolded and immediately started to sob, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"Stop crying."
Xiaqiu snapped, running off into the distance.
"The Dragon Palace is this way."
Shirahoshi quickly caught up and asked Xiaqiu, "Where are you going?"
"Leaving," Xiaqiu replied. "It's almost noon. We agreed to leave at noon, and I need to head to the exit."
"Huh? Are we leaving so soon?" Shirahoshi's expression froze.
Xiaqiu nodded. "Of course, we have to leave. Neptune Yellow Ape and the G1 base commander are waiting for us. We need to hurry."
"Alright then."
Shirahoshi said reluctantly, "But I haven't thanked you yet. Mr. Xia, you've saved me twice."
Defeating Vander Decken IX had lifted the ten-year threat, allowing her to commemorate her mother.
And just now, he had saved her from other Jiao, saving her life twice.
"I just did something trivial."
"Just helping you out a bit," Xiaqiu said casually.
"Mr. Xia is truly a good person," Shirahoshi thought, feeling that Xiaqiu was someone who acted selflessly.
Another good person card.
Xiaqiu shook his head and quickened his pace, prompting Shirahoshi to hurry after him.
The two arrived at the shore, where a Sea Vessel was already anchored in the water. Numerous Fish Soldiers were busy transporting food and water inside.
In addition, Ace, Nami, that Mule, and Heckler, along with other members of Baroque Works, were present, as well as King Neptune and his three princes.
"That's too much; we don't need this much stuff," Heckler said helplessly.
"Yeah, if we load any more, it won't float," another added.
"Hahaha! We have enough buoyancy bags; as long as we stay within the weight limit, we can float. Bringing a little extra never hurts," King Neptune laughed heartily.
While they were talking, Cecilia looked into the distance and said, "The president is here."
"And Princess Shirahoshi," Vivi, wearing a mask, added.
Xiaqiu thundered over and asked them, "Are you ready?"
"Almost done," Shark Star replied. "We're nearly finished loading."
Xiaqiu then asked, "What about the log pose for the New World? Is it ready?"
"I've got it."
Heckler said, "The Neptune King gave us the new Permanent Compass."
"Great."
Xiaqiu nodded and said, "Then let's head out now."
The Neptune King stepped forward and added, "This time Mr. Xia is going to the New World, so he needs to be extra cautious."
"I'll remember that."
Xiaqiu nodded, gladly accepting the goodwill expressed by the Neptune King.
The Neptune King sighed and said, "I owe Mr. Xia a favor, but I don't know when I'll be able to repay it."
"There will be an opportunity."
Xiaqiu laughed heartily and jumped into the ocean, entering the passage.
Heckler and the others also activated the Vessel and moved toward the passage.
"Mr. Xia, goodbye."
Shirahoshi stood by the shore, crying uncontrollably.
"President, what did you do to the princess?"
Ace couldn't help but ask upon seeing this scene.
"I didn't do anything."
Xiaqiu quickly said, "Hurry up, hurry up! Who knows how long we’ll be crying."
Xiaqiu swam into the passage and then directly left to enter the ocean.
Heckler and the others boarded the Vessel, entered the passage, released bubbles, filled it with water, and then departed.
Once they entered the ocean, the Sea Vessel quickly floated upwards.
"Something feels off."
Xiaqiu looked at the figures at the bow of the ship. The Mule was steering, Eight was controlling the sails, and Nami was determining their direction.
How did they end up on the ship?
Xiaqiu approached them and asked, "Eight, are you three planning to follow us to the Bank's Restricted Area?"
Xiaqiu's primary goal was indeed the Bank's Restricted Area; he intended to reach there, find an assistant, and then meet up with Long.
"Of course not."
Nami replied from within the bubbles, "We're heading back to Whitebeard's Pirate Crew."
"Then you should take another ship. Are we supposed to take you back?" Xiaqiu asked in confusion.
"Of course not."
Nami said with a grin, "Isn't Kizaru here? We can't escape from an admiral's pursuit, so Dad plans to come pick us up."
“Whitebeard is coming here?” Xiaqiu's eyes widened.
“Not only that.”
Mule spoke up, “Old man mainly wants to meet you. He wants to see who has the audacity to make Ace leave the Whitebeard Pirate Crew.”
“This?”
Xiaqiu opened his mouth, not expecting the plot to unfold this way. From what he said, he must be quite angry, right?
Nami smiled and asked, “Boss, you’re not scared, are you?”
“Scared?”
Xiaqiu snorted coldly and said, “Me? Scared of Whitebeard?”
At this point, Xiaqiu narrowed his eyes. “Actually, I do want to meet him.”
