Chapter Seventy-Six: Devil Fruit
Is he a Devil Fruit User?
After Xiaqiu collided with Leon, he saw Leon's form—a massive Lionman.
Unless he is a Beastman, he must be a Devil Fruit User.
The latter seems more likely.
The Lionman must be the Lion Form of the Cat-Cat Fruit.
In One Piece, the Cat-Cat Fruit, Lion Form has only appeared once, which was Lucci's Leopard Form.

"It's useless," one pirate shouted.
"Even our captain's transformation didn't work. We... we stand no chance against him," another pirate stammered.
Seeing the Pirate Ship wrecked and Captain Leon killed instantly filled them with dread towards Xiaqiu.
"Damn it."
The White Man's face darkened; he knew he was no match for the creature, but if they all worked together, there might still be a chance of victory.
At that moment, Xiaqiu charged toward the ship with tremendous force. With a thunderous crash, Xiaqiu collided with the vessel once more.
On the fourth impact, the sinking of the Pirate Ship accelerated.
Boom.
Xiaqiu turned around and swung its tail, smashing a recently lowered Pirate Ship. Three pirates on board fell into the sea, drifting away into the vastness.
Xiaqiu immediately pursued them, swallowing them whole before turning back to continue its assault on the Pirate Ship.

The pirates on the ship showed despair as they watched Black Fish approach. One pirate fell into the water and was devoured by Black Fish.
"Don't be afraid, we attack together," shouted the White Man. Suddenly, he leaped into the air and lunged at Black Fish.
"Follow Lord White and charge!" Several pirates jumped into the sea after him.
"We should run."
The remaining pirates on the ship saw this and said, "Let's take this opportunity to escape."
One by one, they jumped into the sea and swam toward the distance.
The White Man lunged at Xiaqiu's head, wielding a curved blade, and struck down fiercely.
Xiaqiu quickly dove underwater.
