Chapter Forty-Seven: Sea Beast
Xiaqiu spotted Moo Moo, stealthily making his way toward the island.
It seemed that after nine months, he had found this place, attempting to return to the side of the fearsome Dragon Pirate Crew.
Nine months had passed since Xiaqiu last battled him, and he had grown from thirty-two meters to thirty-five meters, increasing the size difference.
In addition, he had consumed an Officer and five Fishmen, and had even grown tentacles.
Now, he was stronger than before.
Even before devouring Crocboy, he had the strength to defeat an Officer.
Now that Xiaqiu had consumed Crocboy, his power surpassed Moo Moo's by a significant margin.
So this time, he wouldn't have to struggle as hard in their fight.
This time, he was determined to kill him.
Xiaqiu slowly approached Moo Moo.
Two thousand meters, one thousand meters, five hundred meters.
As he closed in to five hundred meters, Moo Moo suddenly halted, pausing for a moment before swimming toward him.
Had he noticed him?
Xiaqiu recalled that during their first encounter, Moo Moo had sensed him early on and locked onto his position.
The exploration range was approximately five hundred meters.
Xiaqiu's auditory range could detect creatures over twenty meters in length, and it could even sense them from three thousand meters away.
If there was no escape, then it would be easier to handle.
Xiaqiu swam towards Moo Moo, who was also approaching from the opposite direction. They drew closer and soon caught sight of each other.
"Hmm?"
Moo Moo spotted Xiaqiu and tilted his head slightly, feeling a sense of familiarity.
But in the next moment, Moo Moo's eyes widened in fury, his expression filled with rage as he waved his left Pectoral Fin.
It was evident that his left Pectoral Fin had four spines, but one was missing—only three remained.
That was the one Xiaqiu had bitten off.
Recalling that moment filled Moo Moo with immense anger.
"Do you remember me?"
Seeing his expression, Xiaqiu felt a twinge of curiosity.
"Kill him."
Without hesitation, Moo Moo charged straight at Xiaqiu.
Xiaqiu swam to the side, facing Moo Moo.
Trying to run away?
Seeing Xiaqiu's movement, Moo Moo hurriedly chased after, reaching Xiaqiu's side, opening its large mouth to bite at Xiaqiu.
Moo Moo's fallen teeth had already grown back, sharp as ever.
But just as it was about to bite Xiaqiu, Xiaqiu's tail suddenly lashed out.
Bang.
The opponent's head was knocked to the side.
Xiaqiu turned around, intending to bite back, but suddenly realized that the opponent's body tilted in the direction of the blow to its head.
Boom.
Moo Moo fell headfirst, slowly sinking down toward the seabed.
What just happened?
Xiaqiu was baffled. How did the opponent fall so suddenly?
Did it get knocked out by itself?
If struck in the right spot on the jaw with enough force, it could indeed cause someone to lose consciousness.
After consuming Crocboy, his body became stronger, and his power increased significantly, allowing him to shatter a giant rock with ease.
Knocking him out was not a difficult task either.
Xiaqiu looked down, opening her instant membrane to focus on the falling figure below.
The enemy she once struggled to defeat was now so easily vanquished.
Xiaqiu shook her head, planning to descend and finish him off.
He had once tried to hunt her, and she had fought with all her might to survive. Now that she encountered him again, there was no way she would let him go.
Closing her instant membrane, Xiaqiu turned and prepared to chase after him.
But at that moment, Moo Moo, who was continuously plummeting downward, suddenly flipped over. His upper body bent down as his body twisted, tail fin swaying, and the massive Pectoral Fin propelled him through the water as he shot off into the distance.
Awake?
Had he regained consciousness so quickly?
No, something was off.
His transition from being unconscious to escaping was too swift and fluid; there was not a hint of hesitation.
If he had been knocked out, the process of waking up couldn't possibly be this fast.
Was he pretending to be unconscious?
Feigning unconsciousness to distance oneself, then escaping once the other lets their guard down.
How clever.
Xiaqiu was infuriated by being tricked in such a manner and immediately accelerated to chase after him.
Xiaqiu's speed was not much faster than Moo Moo's.
Moreover, after Moo Moo plummeted two or three hundred meters, he suddenly surged forward, pulling Xiaqiu back a considerable distance.
Xiaqiu chased from behind, and after a long pursuit, he managed to close the gap by over a hundred meters.
"What's over there?"
Xiaqiu noticed that the direction Moo Moo was heading towards was where Cocoa West Village was located.
If he continued to chase, he would only catch up when they were nearly at the island.
The two massive beings would create quite a commotion if they fought there.
He would have to call for help from the evil dragon Pirate Crew. Even though he could easily kill Moo Moo without taking any damage due to his superior strength, it would still take some time.
At that point, if Arlong and the other Fishmen showed up, he would be left with no escape.
As long as you stay with Arlong, you will eventually meet your end at my hands.
Xiaqiu gradually came to a stop, watching Moo Moo grow increasingly distant in the horizon before turning back towards the direction he had come from.
“Are they not chasing anymore?”
Moo Moo swam for a while, relieved that the terrifying Black Fish had stopped pursuing him. He let out a sigh.
It was truly frightening.
Its strength was overwhelming, and the whip of its tail had hurt him badly.
Fortunately, it had given up the chase.
With his heart at ease, Moo Moo continued to swim toward the distance.
At that moment, he spotted a boat on the Water Surface, heading toward the island.
“A boat?”
Moo Moo's eyes lit up; he could attack them and feast on the people aboard.
Thinking this, Moo Moo slowly surfaced, revealing his menacing jaws as he watched the figures on the boat.
...
“Finally back.”
On the boat, Ah looked at the distant island and let out a sigh.
Beside him, Nami sat in the cabin, opening a cloth bag and counting the money inside.
Five hundred thousand Berries.
This amount of income was more than what she earned at home.
If her family had had this much money back then, Aunt Bellemere wouldn't have been killed.
But it wasn't enough.
If she earned five hundred thousand Berries in a month at sea, plus the two hundred thousand Berries Arlong promised her every month, it would still take her over a decade to save up One Hundred Million Berries.
Moreover, she couldn't go out to sea every month.
So next time, she had to steal more money.
Nami thought to herself, but just then, with a loud roar, a massive figure burst from the water, causing the boat to shake violently.
"What?"
Nami fell to one side and looked into the distance, where a gigantic Sea Beast appeared before her.
This Sea Beast had two horns on its head, a huge nose with a ring through it, and most importantly, its left cheek was swollen.
"A Sea Beast? This is bad."
Nami felt a surge of anxiety, but after the Sea Beast appeared, it didn't attack; instead, tears welled up in its eyes.
“Moo Moo?”
Ba stood at the bow of the ship and shouted, “Where have you been for so long?”
But the next moment, Moo Moo began to cry loudly, huge tears spilling from his eyes, falling one by one.
“What happened?”
Ba looked at Moo Moo, unsure why he was crying, as if he had suffered a great injustice.
But it was okay; he would make some food to comfort him soon.
Moreover, Moo Moo was back. If that sea fish came here again, Moo Moo would be able to deal with it.
