After the fluorescent light source disappeared, the entire backroom was enveloped in darkness. Kevin, Mary, and Alan could clearly feel the oppression brought by the silence and darkness, as if countless eyes were staring at them in the dark. The three of them huddled closer together, forming a tight little team to face this unknown threat. 0

Alan quickly pulled out the flashlight he had just taken from the resource box in his backpack. When he turned it on, a bright white light pierced through the darkness. Every corner the beam passed seemed to hide a danger, so they proceeded forward with even greater caution. 0

Mary tightly gripped her bow and arrow, ready to shoot any creature that threatened them at any moment. Her breath was slightly tense, but with the company of Kevin and Alan, she gathered the courage to continue forward. 0

Kevin led the way with an axe in hand, his gaze sharp and ready to respond to any sudden crisis. He held the axe high, staying vigilant and guiding the team while also giving them confidence. 0

At this moment, they clearly heard a series of howling, as if a pack of hungry wolves were searching for food. The sound was sometimes strong and sometimes weak, sometimes coming from a distance and sometimes close by. What was even more unsettling was that, along with the howling, there were sounds of animals scratching, as if some creature was lurking in the shadows, watching them. 0

Alan tried to stay calm, shining the flashlight ahead and reminding, "Everyone be careful. We don't know what's causing these sounds, but there are definitely creatures here. We need to work closely together and face this together." 0

When Alan swept the flashlight, the deep passage swallowed all the light like black velvet. With their footsteps, faint echoes continued to reverberate in this narrow space. But just as they began to feel a little relieved, a fast and blurry shadow suddenly flashed through the beam of the flashlight. They only caught a glimpse of the creature, but that moment was enough to send shivers down their spines. It had exposed, wrinkled skin, humanoid in shape, but its movements and structure were completely inhuman. The black hair on its head danced like a flag in the wind, and most shockingly, it moved on all fours like a dog, disappearing into the darkness in an instant. 0

Mary's skin appeared unusually pale due to the shock, her fingers trembling slightly as she gripped the bow and arrow. Her eyes revealed a mix of disbelief and fear. Kevin tightly held the axe in his hand, his lips sealed, but his breathing sounded somewhat heavy. As the leader of the team, he knew he couldn't show weakness at this moment. 0

Alan tried to take a deep breath and adjust his emotions. He worked hard to stop his hands from trembling because he knew that the beam of the flashlight was their only guide in this darkness. He gripped the flashlight tightly and shone it forward once again. 0

Not far away, the end of the passage seemed to reveal a huge iron gate, with an emergency lighting device above it emitting a faint red light. In this oppressive environment, this faint light not only pointed them in the right direction but also seemed to guide them with a glimmer of hope. 0

Kevin sighed and said, "No matter what it is, we can't stop here. We have to reach that circuit breaker." 0

Mary nodded determinedly, still feeling a bit scared, but she decided to continue following. 0

Alan added, "We need to be careful, that creature might still be nearby." 0

The three of them stood closely together, forming a small team formation. Alan stood in the middle holding a flashlight, shining the light towards the electrical switch ahead; Kevin held an axe standing on the left side, his eyes sharp and alert to the surroundings; while Mary stood on the right side, her bowstring pulled taut, ready to respond to any unexpected situation at any moment. 0

Their pace was not fast, but each step was precise and firm. The distant circuit breaker seemed to be getting closer, but as they made their way, a series of indistinct animal running sounds began to echo in the narrow passage. The sound came and went, sometimes seeming to be behind them, and at other times appearing to come from above or the side. 0

What made them even more uneasy was the occasional low, mournful cries that stimulated their eardrums, filling the entire passage with a sense of terror. These sounds were neither human nor like any common animal, which heightened their unease. 0

Kevin furrowed his brow and said, "These sounds... feel like they're coming from some kind of creature we've never encountered before." 0

Mary tensely replied, "I just hope we don't have to actually face it." 0

Alan nodded, "Stay alert, we're almost there." 0

The sound of the three people's heartbeats was particularly clear in this dark passage, with each heartbeat accompanied by irregular, eerie sounds. Their mental state had reached an unprecedented level of tension, where every small sound could potentially signify unknown danger. 0

Before long, the three of them finally arrived in front of a huge electrical switch in the dimness. The silence of the place sharply contrasted with the surrounding environment. The metal surface of the switch showed a hint of rust, but it remained sturdy. Several emergency lights were installed around the switch, each resembling a sleeping guardian, protecting this mysterious domain. Although the lights were not on at the moment, their presence seemed to bring a glimmer of hope, hinting that the power could likely be restored to illuminate the darkness. 0

Kevin approached the switch, took a deep breath of the cold, desolate air, and let out a low sigh, saying, "Well, we finally made it." His voice carried weariness, but more so determination. 0

Mary gently stroked one of the emergency lighting fixtures as if hoping to awaken it. A glimmer of hope flashed in her eyes, and a faint smile appeared on her lips as she said, "As long as we can light up these lamps, this place won't be so scary anymore." 0

Alan fell silent for a moment, then took a step forward to carefully examine the control panel next to the circuit breaker. The buttons and indicator lights on the panel were covered with dust and cobwebs. He gently wiped away the dust with his sleeve and began to study the function of each switch and button, saying, "With light, those monsters might retreat out of fear of the brightness. We must try to restart the power." 0

Kevin and Mary both nodded and began to search for a possible power switch, hoping to light up the place again and bring a glimmer of hope to the three of them in this shadow. 0
