Although chaos engulfed the Southern Capital, the onslaught of the Demon race gradually slowed, instilling a glimmer of hope. However, Master Han stood atop the high wall, overlooking the battlefield with a furrowed brow. His instincts told him that things were not as simple as they seemed.
"What is happening?" Master Han murmured to himself, his eyes filled with confusion and concern.
Below, Li Tian and Chen Yao fought valiantly, leading the city’s police and military forces in resisting the Demon attack. Li Tian's sword light flashed like lightning, swiftly cutting down several Demons, while Chen Yao excelled in agility and precision, each strike landing accurately on the Demons' vital points.
"Everyone hold on! We can win this!" Li Tian shouted, his voice brimming with unwavering determination.
The police and soldiers were inspired by his words; they united and fiercely resisted the Demons' assault. However, as time passed, they noticed that the number of Demons around them was dwindling, and the momentum of the attack was gradually weakening.
"Something's off; why has the Demon offensive suddenly decreased?" Chen Yao frowned, filled with doubt.
"Yeah, it's not like the Demons to retreat so easily," Li Tian added uneasily, his instincts warning him that there must be a conspiracy behind this.
Master Han stood on the high wall, carefully observing the movements around him. His gaze swept across the distant battlefield, where he noticed some unusual signs.
"Li Tian, Chen Yao, be careful! I have a feeling this isn't as simple as it seems," Master Han called out loudly, his voice echoing in the air and creating a sense of tension.
Li Tian and Chen Yao exchanged wary glances. They knew Master Han's instincts were usually spot on; they had to be cautious.
Just then, a massive shadow suddenly appeared above them, rapidly approaching. Li Tian and Chen Yao reacted quickly, dodging to either side as a gigantic Demon Beast crashed heavily to the ground with a deafening roar.
"This is... a Skeletal War Elephant!" Li Tian exclaimed in shock.
"Oh no, what are we going to do about such a huge creature?" Chen Yao felt a wave of anxiety wash over him.
The appearance of the Skeletal War Elephant instilled fear in everyone; its massive body and immense power were overwhelming. It raised its front legs violently and slammed them down onto the ground, obliterating nearby buildings and scattering people in all directions.
"Everyone, concentrate your fire and attack its weak point!" Li Tian commanded loudly, his gaze firm and filled with determination.
The police and soldiers quickly sprang into action, directing all their firepower at the Skeletal War Elephant. Gunfire erupted, bullets raining down on the Skeletal War Elephant, but its defense was astonishing; the bullets had almost no effect on it.
"Damn it, this guy's defense is too strong!" Chen Yao gritted her teeth, knowing they had to find its weakness to defeat it.
"Chen Yao, watch out!" Li Tian suddenly shouted as he saw the Skeletal War Elephant swing its front leg violently towards Chen Yao.
Chen Yao dodged swiftly but was still knocked back by the tremendous force, crashing heavily to the ground and spitting out a mouthful of blood.
"Chen Yao!" Li Tian exclaimed in alarm, rushing to her side and trying to shield her with his body.
"I'm fine, just a little hurt," Chen Yao said, forcing herself to stand up, a glint of determination in her eyes. "We have to work together to deal with this monster."
Li Tian nodded, and the two quickly formed a defensive line against the Skeletal War Elephant. Their sword and blade lights intertwined, creating a powerful barrier in an attempt to withstand the creature's attacks.
The battle in Southern Capital raged on fiercely, but the demon forces seemed to be slowing down. Li Tian and Chen Yao fought bravely, leading the city's police and soldiers in a tenacious resistance. However, Chen Yao's dissatisfaction with Li Tian's performance grew stronger.
"Li Tian, your attacks are too weak!" Chen Yao said discontentedly, her eyes filled with disdain. "This won't truly defeat the demons!"
Li Tian furrowed his brow, feeling a wave of frustration. "Chen Yao, I'm doing my best, but their defenses are too strong. We need to find their weaknesses."
"Hmph, your best poses no threat to them at all!" Chen Yao coldly replied, increasingly disappointed in Li Tian's abilities.
"This guy is coming again; we must join forces against it!" Li Tian declared loudly, a flicker of resolve flashing in his eyes.
"No, I don't need you. I can handle this on my own!" Chen Yao said coldly, determined to face the powerful enemy by herself.
Li Tian tried to stop her, "Chen Yao, this is too dangerous. We need to work together!"
"Stop talking nonsense. I don't need your help!" Chen Yao replied decisively, then swiftly leaped onto the back of the War Elephant.
Her movements were agile and quick, and the dagger in her hand glinted with a cold light as she aimed for the War Elephant's back. However, the dark Spiritual Energy defense net of the War Elephant reacted swiftly, deflecting her attack. Chen Yao felt a powerful recoil, her body shaking violently in mid-air, nearly causing her to fall.
"Damn it, how is this guy's defense so strong!" Chen Yao gritted her teeth, feeling a wave of helplessness wash over her.
The War Elephant let out a deafening roar and swung its massive front leg directly at Chen Yao. She dodged quickly but was still knocked back by the tremendous force, crashing heavily to the ground and spitting out a mouthful of blood.
Li Tian watched this unfold with growing anxiety and rushed to Chen Yao's side, shielding her behind him. "Chen Yao, are you okay?"
"Don't worry about me; I'm fine!" Chen Yao gritted her teeth against the pain, determination flashing in her eyes. "I won't give up; I will defeat it!"
Li Tian knew that relying solely on their combined strength would not be enough to defeat this formidable enemy. He quickly analyzed the situation and thought of a possibility: "The Skeletal War Elephant shouldn't have such high-level control over its abilities. This means there must be a caster controlling its defenses."
"Chen Yao, we need to find the caster; that's how we can break through the Skeletal War Elephant's defenses!" Li Tian exclaimed, determination shining in his eyes.
"The caster?" Chen Yao frowned, clearly skeptical about this idea, but she knew Li Tian's instincts were usually spot on. "Alright, let's work together to find that caster!"
The two quickly moved into action, searching for the hidden caster on the battlefield. They carefully navigated through the Demon Soldier's defenses, avoiding drawing attention. Li Tian's gaze swept across the battlefield as he tried to locate that key figure.
"There! Over there—there's a suspicious character!" Chen Yao suddenly pointed into the distance. There stood a Demon Clan Sorcerer on high ground, waving a staff and seemingly chanting some incantation.
"That's him, hurry up!" Li Ming shouted as they rushed toward the wizard.
The wizard noticed their movement and quickly waved his staff, sending a powerful wave of dark Spiritual Energy straight at Li Ming. Li Ming dodged swiftly, but the force of the dark Spiritual Energy still pressed heavily upon him.
"You will not destroy my Spell!" the wizard said coldly, his eyes filled with malice.
"We have to succeed!" Chen Yao gritted her teeth and charged forward, her dagger glinting ominously as she aimed for the wizard.
The wizard swiftly swung his staff, conjuring a dark barrier to block Chen Yao's attack. However, her speed and strength caught him off guard; the dagger pierced through the barrier and struck his shoulder.
"Ah!" The wizard let out a cry of agony, his body shaking violently as the staff slipped from his grasp, causing the dark Spiritual Energy defense to collapse.
"We did it!" Li Ming exclaimed, a relieved smile spreading across his face.
"Now, attack the back of the Skeletal War Elephant's neck!" Li Ming commanded urgently. He and Chen Yao sprang into action, channeling all their strength toward the creature's weak point.
With the protection of dark Spiritual Energy gone, the Skeletal War Elephant's defenses weakened significantly. Li Ming's sword flashed like lightning, leaving a deep gash on the back of the War Elephant's neck.
"We're almost there, everyone push harder!" Chen Yao encouraged loudly, hope shining in her eyes.
The Skeletal War Elephant let out a deafening roar, its body trembling violently as its defenses began to crumble. Finally, with a tremendous explosion, the Skeletal War Elephant collapsed into a pile of shattered bones.
"We did it!" Li Ming shouted again, his face beaming with joy.
