Ye Xiaohan looked at Liu Susu's expression, feeling quite annoyed. This only made Liu Susu's already unbearable image in Ye Xiaohan's mind even harder to tolerate.
She coldly stared at Liu Susu, as if silently demanding her to leave immediately and not disturb her business.

Liu Susu looked at Ye Xiaohan with an air of indifference, her smile growing more malicious.
"Oh, I forgot, you don't know anything yet!" Liu Susu said in an exaggerated tone. "Let me be the one to deliver this significant news that will affect Boss Ye's future."
Her eyes were filled with madness as she pronounced each word: "That big support of yours, the General Gu you worked so hard to seduce, is dead!"
Ye Xiaohan didn't even raise her eyelids. She had been standing the whole time, her gaze looking down at Liu Susu from a height.
"Madam Gu is truly humorous; I could laugh at this joke for a year," Ye Xiaohan replied flatly. "Since it's over, you might as well head back early. This shabby tavern is hardly suitable for Madam Gu's contemplation."
Seeing that she was not convinced, Liu Susu said, "Do you think I'm lying to you? How ridiculous! This is a pillar of the court; if I dared to spread rumors, I would have been caught long ago!"
She continued with pride, "The news hasn't spread yet, but it will soon enough. By then, without Gu Bei as your support, I wonder what kind of fate you'll face. I'm quite curious!"
Naturally, Ye Xiaohan didn't believe Liu Susu's words. Just like Liu Susu had said, Gu Bei was a general of the court; if something had really happened, news would have reached them long ago—there was no way it could be kept under wraps.
Moreover, just two days prior, Ye Xiaohan had received a message from Gu Bei's family that briefly mentioned local developments.

It seemed her facade was holding up well; Liu Susu didn't notice any flaws in it. She only assumed that Ye Xiaohan didn't believe her and began to feel anxious inside.
If Ye Xiaohan remained indifferent, then her plan to witness Ye Xiaohan's suffering would be in vain!
No! How could this Bitch live so comfortably? She should be suffering more than herself!
Liu Susu revealed all the information she had eavesdropped on outside Liu Chancellor's study to increase its credibility: "Three days ago, Gu Bei led five hundred Soldiers to launch a surprise attack on the enemy camp at midnight. And Ye Xiaohan's pain was the drop of water Liu Susu needed.
Unfortunately, after waiting for a while, Liu Susu noticed that Ye Xiaohan's expression hadn't changed at all; she still wore a look of disdain while talking to her. It was as if Liu Susu's words had not reached Ye Xiaohan's ears at all.
Liu Susu was so furious that she nearly jumped up, but out of years of noble etiquette, she managed to suppress such a vulgar reaction. Still, her tone could no longer maintain the confidence it had at the beginning.
"With those bandits' brutality, I think you can guess what kind of treatment Gu Bei will receive in their hands without me having to say it."
In order to see Ye Xiaohan's calm expression shatter, Liu Susu deliberately detailed everything: when they attacked, how they ambushed, what formation they used, and who led them.
Then she smugly added, "These are urgent reports sent up here. They are of great importance and cannot be made public yet. But you can prepare in advance to collect Gu Bei's body!"
Ye Xiaohan scoffed. "No matter whether this news is true or not, what does it have to do with Madam Gu? Even if I were to deal with it, it would be my business. Does Madam Gu want to join in on the fun? Oh dear, what identity would you use for that?"
The curve of her lips mirrored Liu Susu's expression perfectly. "How about as Gu Bei's sister-in-law? A sister-in-law who disregards her husband's reputation and her own dignity, even risking a fallout with him just to collect her uncle's body—now that's truly touching!"
Ye Xiaohan mimicked Liu Susu's tone, deliberately adopting an irritating pitch that successfully provoked Liu Susu.
"You little bitch! You really are just a bitch!" Liu Susu shouted without regard for her image. "Gu Bei treated you so well and did so much for you. Now that he’s dead, you’re not even sad at all! You’re simply cold-blooded and heartless!"
