You Were Born a Nobleman, Chapter 55: You Dare to Marry Without the Permission of the Wolf King!
Kong Xuan sighed lightly, "Lang Ye, do you know the origin of Peacock Mountain?"
"Wasn't it moved here from the Western Wilderness to suppress you back then?"
"Does that count as mine?"
"It counts, it's all yours, even a bird's droppings belong to you. Shu Que Wu Pan."
"Since it's mine, I don't care about its origin; no one is allowed to touch my things."
"How domineering! What about Tang Zisu? Is Tang Zisu yours?"
"Of course she is; she must be mine."
"Is it just because of your heart's blood? Kong Xuan, don't answer me; think for yourself."
Kong Xuan's expression stiffened for a moment but quickly adjusted, "What about you? Are you mine? If you're mine, I'll turn you into a person."
"Get lost; I've long been yours. What do you mean by saying this now?"
"So you've been mine all along; it seems I can't refuse to help you."
"Stop pretending. If you had a way, you would have said it earlier; why wait until today?"
"I'm thinking; I can come up with something soon."
"Then say it when you think of it. I'm going back to let Softy give me a bath; you think for yourself!"
"A bath? She's giving you one? You better stay calm."
Lang Ye discovered that Kong Xuan's ominous words came true; Softy was giving him a bath, and he couldn't stay calm.
Softy was vigorously brushing Lang Ye's wolf fur with a large boar bristle brush, beads of joyful sweat rolling down his little nose. She looked both diligent and adorable, a feeling of affection that had never been felt before surged within her.
Softy wiped the sweat from her forehead with her sleeve. "Ahei, things are not peaceful right now, so don't run around, okay?"
Lang Ye shook his wolf fur and splashed Softy with water.
"Ahei, you're so naughty. I'm trying to talk to you seriously. Stop messing around, be good, stand still, and don't move."
Lang Ye remained still, his wet head rubbing against Softy's palm.
"Sigh, Ahei, if something really goes wrong, does that mean I can't get married?"
Lang Ye thought: Get married? Do you dare to marry without my permission as the Wolf King?
"In a few months, I'll be eighteen. But Auntie says I have a hard fate and will bring misfortune to my husband, so no one will marry me. Actually, I don't really want to get married, but I want to have a home, someone who understands me and cares for me. What is a home really like?"
Softy brushed Lang Ye's fur absentmindedly; the brush hit Lang Ye's belly several times, but he didn't feel any pain. Softy, I will give you a home; I am the one you can rely on for life.
Lang Ye decided that even if he had to pluck all of Kong Xuan's feathers, he would find a way for her to transform.
Jumping brought some fresh wild fruits, and Tang Zisu immediately thought of Kong Xuan.
She filled both hands with fruits and went to the hillside behind the Shrine to find Kong Xuan.
Seeing Kong Xuan surprised Tang Zisu because the always pristine goddess was lying against a large tree with her hands behind her head.
"Xuan Xuan, come down! Are you related to monkeys for climbing so high?"
"Tang Zisu, the view up here is great. Do you want to come up?"
Tang Zisu felt a faint stir in her heart but maintained her graceful demeanor. "No thanks; I have nothing to do with monkeys."
Kong Xuan smiled and ignored her.
Tang Zisu felt a bit unable to hold back. She calmly said, "Alright, since you're so lonely, I'll keep you company, but how do I get up there?"
Tang Zisu only felt a white shadow flash before her eyes, and Kong Xuan was already standing in front of her like a celestial being.
"You, you..." Tang Zisu felt a tightness around her waist, and then she was lifted into the air, landing steadily on a tree.
"It's so high, Xuan Xuan, I'm scared." Tang Zisu tightly hugged Kong Xuan, fearing that she might fall if she let go.
"Tang Zisu, you're squeezing me so tight I can hardly breathe."
Tang Zisu's face turned red, and she quickly loosened her arms but immediately wrapped them around Kong Xuan again.
"I won't let go; I'm scared."
Tang Zisu's voice carried a hint of sulkiness mixed with an adorable charm.
For a moment, the two stood embraced on the tree, neither willing to let go.
Later, Tang Zisu would come to understand that for Kong Xuan, she could never learn to let go.
