However, none of this happened; instead, the capital fell into a strange calm. If this were the tranquility before a storm, it might indeed have some truth to it.
Walking along the wide streets of the capital, Ouyang Zixin looked around listlessly. It had been a long time since she last went out, and the market was still bustling with activity. The shouts of vendors filled the air, and there were all sorts of goods on display. Yet now, she had no desire to shop. If it weren't for Yun Tianmo sending her a note asking her to dine at a restaurant called "Feng Fei," she wouldn't have bothered to step outside.
"Miss, why aren't you taking a carriage if you're not shopping?" Liu Ying followed closely beside Ouyang Zixin, puzzled. She had thought that after being cooped up in the Millennium Ruins, Ouyang Zixin would be eager to go out, but seeing her lack of enthusiasm made Liu Ying reconsider.
"Ah." Ouyang Zixin sighed and pointed towards the lively street, saying, "Look at how bustling it is! Unfortunately, all this liveliness belongs to others; it has nothing to do with me."
"How can it not be related?" Liu Ying didn't quite understand Ouyang Zixin's meaning. Isn't the vibrancy of the capital something that belongs to everyone? How could it not concern her in any way?
"You wouldn't understand." Ouyang Zixin shook her finger back and forth. Such profound truths are not easily recognized in a martial world like Yuhai Continent. She was speaking from experience; when she first read that saying, she didn't feel much about it. Indeed, many beautiful phrases and truths can only be truly appreciated through personal experience.
The two continued walking side by side, ignoring the vendors' calls around them without any intention of stopping to look.

"Hey, isn't that Miss Ouyang?" A sharp female voice came from Ouyang Zixin's left front. "What a coincidence!"
Ouyang Zixin turned toward the voice and saw a carriage nearby with its curtain lifted. A woman with heavy makeup leaned out, adorned with extravagant hair accessories. For a moment, she couldn't recognize who it was.
But someone who could call out to her must know her; so she simply stopped to wait for the person to reveal herself.
"Miss, it's Sito Rongyan." It wasn't that Liu Ying had a good memory; rather, she had stayed in the capital longer and knew more than Ouyang Zixin did.
The carriage bore markings of the Xu Family in the capital. Sito Rongyan had indeed married into the Xu Family.
At first glance, Ouyang Zixin couldn't recall who Sito Rongyan was and asked, "Who?"
"Hey, Miss Ouyang, it seems you have forgotten things easily. It's only been a short while since we last met. Don't you recognize me?" Sito Rongyan struggled to get down from the carriage, her heavy attire making it difficult. Supporting her elaborate hairpiece, she mocked, "Did you go to the Millennium Ruins? It seems like you've come out a bit daft."
As she approached, Ouyang Zixin finally recalled who Sito Rongyan was and clapped her hands in realization, saying, "Oh, the young lady has turned into a matron. I truly didn't recognize you!"
"Indeed, our lady is dignified and elegant. You, on the other hand..." A nearby maid proudly boasted about Sito Rongyan's status as if their lady were of the highest nobility, completely missing the sarcasm in Ouyang Zixin's words.
"Shut up!" Sito Rongyan shot a fierce glare at the maid. With a sudden movement, the maid stumbled and fell to the ground. Ignoring her, Sito Rongyan continued toward Ouyang Zixin with an unfriendly expression and asked, "Are we fated to meet again or are we enemies on a narrow road?"
Sito Rongyan's makeup was thick, and her slightly fierce face made it seem as if the cosmetics might just fall off. Ouyang Zixin took a step back with a look of disdain and waved her hand in front of her nose, saying, "Watch out for the dust!"
What can be said about the Yuhai Continent? The air is fresh and unpolluted, without any smog or dust issues. However, it turns out that while nature maintains its environment well in one aspect, it largely depends on people. If one thinks they create dust, they might find themselves unable to escape it.
"You!" First interrupted by the maid and now scorned by Ouyang Zixin, Sito Rongyan trembled with anger, her finger shaking violently as she pointed at Ouyang Zixin.
"Be careful; don't choke yourself. Then you'll come blaming me."
"Pfft." Liu Ying couldn't hold back her laughter. She had been worried that Sito Rongyan would cause trouble for the young lady, but now it seemed that before Sito could finish her words, she had already been thoroughly provoked by Ouyang Zixin. This feeling was quite enjoyable.
"Liu Ying, let's go." Ouyang Zixin didn't want to waste any more words with Sito Rongyan and called Liu Ying to leave; she still wanted to eat at Phoenix Flying Restaurant.
"Stop right there! You're not allowed to leave!" Sito Rongyan rushed forward to grab Ouyang Zixin, but with her current agility and attire, she couldn't match Ouyang Zixin's nimbleness. In a swift move, Ouyang dodged her grasp, causing Sito Rongyan to lose her balance and fall heavily to the ground.
"I didn't even touch you; don't come blaming me," Ouyang Zixin rolled her eyes at her. This person was truly foolish; even after getting married, she hadn't improved at all.
"Madam, are you okay?" The maid had already gotten up but was too afraid of angering Sito Rongyan to approach. Now seeing her fall, she hurried over to help. However, in her haste, she tripped over her own skirt and not only failed to assist Sito Rongyan but also ended up landing on top of her. Instantly, they became entangled.
"Liu Ying, do you think she's got something against this street?"
"Huh?"
"She passed through here last time when she got married."
"Oh, right."
"Ah, what a fateful connection..."
Ouyang Zixin walked away with Liu Ying, but their conversation was overheard by Sito Rongyan, who was so angry that she broke a nail and muttered, "Just you wait!"

"This must be Miss Ouyang?"
As soon as Ouyang Zixin entered, she was greeted by a person who looked like a shopkeeper. Upon hearing his words, she nodded graciously in acknowledgment.
"Cloud Young Master has reserved the best table; please follow me." With that, he personally led the way to the second floor of the restaurant.
"Where are the others?" The note Ouyang Zixin received only instructed her to come here for a meal, without any further details.
The shopkeeper, bowing slightly as he led the way, turned his head slightly and replied, "Cloud Young Master instructed that today we only need to ensure the young lady is well taken care of during her meal; nothing else was mentioned."
The three of them quickly arrived at the entrance of a private room. This was the largest private room on the second floor; there were other rooms on both sides, but it was clear they couldn't compare to the one reserved by Yun Tianmo. The shopkeeper let Ouyang Zixin into the private room and then withdrew. Soon after, dishes began to be delivered one after another.
"What is Yun Tianmo up to?" Ouyang Zixin thought to herself. There was enough food on the table for several people; did he think she was raising pigs?! (To be continued.)
