Nangong Tuo clutched his chest. Although he was not feeling well at the moment, upon hearing that Ouyang Zixin was injured, he couldn't help but step forward to take a look. In his eyes, Yun Tianmo was the prince of Cloud Nation, the Ink King of Cloud Nation, and the Ninth Prince of Cloud Nation. So no matter how powerful Yun Tianmo was, it was still a matter for Cloud Nation, while Ouyang Zixin was from Exiled Nation and should be on his side.
"Yun Tianmo, you..." Nangong Tuo had just taken a step forward when he saw Yun Tianmo gently place Ouyang Zixin on the ground. The careful manner in which he did so left Nangong Tuo stunned. In his understanding, Yun Tianmo had never been polite to women. He remembered an incident in the Capital of the Departed Nation when Yun Tianmo disguised himself as a guard beside him and was noticed by a noble lady. She merely tugged at Yun Tianmo's sleeve, and he had sent her flying with the Mysterious Energy he released. But why was his treatment of Ouyang Zixin so different?
Did Yun Tianmo really have feelings for Ouyang Zixin?
"How long has it been since you've been beaten?" Yun Tianmo turned around, hands clasped behind his back, looking at Nangong Tuo as if he were an ant. The imposing aura he exuded indicated that he was genuinely angry.
Because of Nangong Tuo's earlier recklessness, one of Ouyang Zixin's wounds had not been properly treated, and it was still bleeding profusely. He had only done a simple treatment before handing it over to Nameless. Fortunately, Nameless mentioned that there were some holy items for blood replenishment that could temporarily keep her stable; otherwise, his attitude toward Nangong Tuo would have been quite different.
Even so, Yun Tianmo still had no intention of letting Nangong Tuo off the hook. They had spent quite some time in the Millennium Ruins, and everyone needed to vent their frustrations due to the oppressive unknown surrounding them. With Nangong Tuo presenting himself as a target, Yun Tianmo would naturally not hold back.
"What do you want to do?" After years of acquaintance with Yun Tianmo, Nangong Tuo could tell whether he was truly angry or not. Hearing his words made him involuntarily take a few steps back, feeling uncertain about whether Yun Tianmo really intended to strike.
"I-I was just concerned about Ouyang Zixin. How is she?" Nangong Tuo stammered. He genuinely didn't know if Yun Tianmo was treating her wounds; otherwise, he wouldn't have foolishly tried to pull him away.
Yun Tianmo looked at Nangong Tuo as if contemplating where to strike first. His gaze resembled that of a hunter assessing its prey, sending chills down Nangong Tuo's spine.
"Shield!" It seemed Yun Tianmo had found his target and summoned the Source Serpent Scale Shield. Immediately, he was enveloped in a dark red glow before vanishing from sight in an instant.
Before Nangong Tuo could react, he felt a powerful gust of wind strike his back just as he attempted to dodge. The wind mixed with Mysterious Energy hit him squarely in the back, causing him to stumble and blood to spurt from his mouth.
"You... you’re serious?!" Nangong Tuo had faced Yun Tianmo before but had never experienced such severity. This time, he truly felt fear. However, the pride of being a prince prevented him from uttering any pleas for mercy because this wasn't just playful banter; Yun Tianmo was dead serious.
Nangong Takuya, feeling invigorated, instantly activated his defenses. Although he knew that with his current cultivation level, it was impossible to withstand Yun Tianmo's attack, he could not just sit and wait for his fate.
Nameless noticed that both of them were fully committed and immediately used a teleportation skill to take Ouyang Zixin to a safer distance. This action happened to be seen by Yun Tianying. Concerned about Ouyang Zixin being caught in the crossfire, he thought about moving her to a different position. However, as soon as he turned around, he saw Ouyang Zixin disappear from her original spot and reappear in the distance.
Since Yun Tianying could not see Nameless, this scene appeared very strange to him. To confirm that he wasn't mistaken, he called over the shadow guard and pointed at Ouyang Zixin's current position, asking, "Did you see clearly? Was Miss Ouyang lying there just now?"
The shadow guard bowed his head to listen. After Yun Tianying's question, he quickly looked up and scanned Ouyang Zixin's new location. He felt a pang of uncertainty. Seeing his reaction, Yun Tianying realized that he probably wasn't mistaken; Ouyang Zixin had indeed changed her position out of thin air.
"Let's go check it out," Yun Tianying decided not to dwell on the inexplicable situation any longer. He had intended to move her anyway, so this just made things easier.
Bang!
As they were walking in that direction, they suddenly heard a heavy object fall behind them. Without needing to look back, they both silently mourned for Nangong Tuo in their hearts. What was this called? It was called: if you don't seek trouble, trouble won't find you.
"Has your Master ever mentioned when he obtained the Source Serpent Scale Shield?" Yun Tianying glanced at the expressionless shadow guard. When they were training these individuals, Mo had mentioned it, but he never expected not only did they succeed in training them, but each one was exceptionally talented. If it weren't for him rarely leaving Cloud Nation, he would want a few of these shadow guards himself.
The shadow guard shook his head mechanically; the Seventh Prince was really fond of joking. When did their Master need to explain such matters to them?
"Has your Master ever mentioned when he took notice of Miss Ouyang?"
This time, the shadow guard could no longer maintain his expressionless demeanor; his brows twitched slightly as he recalled what he had heard from the brothers during training camp. Could it be Miss Ouyang? Thinking this way made him realize how slow he was to catch on; why hadn't he thought of it earlier? He had been indifferent toward Miss Ouyang...
Suddenly, the shadow guard felt an unprecedented premonition—an oddly accurate one—he was about to return for retraining.
How should I respond to the Seventh Prince? I don't know? Or do I?
Oh my, brothers, why am I suffering so much?!
Yun Tianying chuckled; these shadow guards are really quite similar to Mo, it's so amusing to tease them.
Bang!
Another heavy blow landed, and Nangong Tuo's face was now a mess. After being knocked down this time, he simply gave up resisting; Yun Tianmo was doing it on purpose!
"Go ahead and hit me, but can you not slap my face? Am I not just a little bit more handsome than you?" Nangong Tuo wailed, but deep down he felt relieved. It seemed that Yun Tianmo hadn't truly reached the point of turning against him, so if he had to endure the beating, then so be it.
"Do you guys have a sadistic streak?" Yun Tianying glanced back for a moment. At this point, Nangong Tuo was in such a pitiful state that it was almost unbearable to look at, prompting another question.
If making the shadow guards go through this madness counts as sadism, then yes, Master does have a bit of that.
"Ahhh—Yun Tianmo, you pervert!!!"
Tsk tsk, poor Nangong Tuo.
