Yun Tianmo felt anger, while Baike was surprised. Neither of them expected Ouyang Zixin to give up her safe retreat, even if it meant hurting herself further. At the same time, Nameless's confused questions echoed in Mind.
Ouyang Zixin covered the wound on her shoulder, thinking that this outfit was likely ruined, stained with blood everywhere, and she wondered if it could ever be cleaned.
"Why aren't you trying harder?" Ouyang Zixin casually glanced at her injury and teased Baike, "What’s wrong? Did you tire out after whatever you did earlier?"
If one didn’t know better, they might think Ouyang Zixin and Baike were good friends; her words sounded like casual conversation or a joke. However, to Yun Tianmo's ears, it felt more pointed. It seemed that Ouyang Zixin's target was not just Baike but also—him.
"What are you going crazy about?" Yun Tianmo stepped forward to check her wound, but Ouyang Zixin took a step back at the same time. Proud as he was, this was the second time in a short span that she had clearly rejected him. No matter how much he cared, he couldn’t bring himself to step closer.
"Am I going crazy? Ha ha, are we both going crazy?" Ouyang Zixin laughed loudly as if she had heard the greatest joke. If not for the hint of tears in her eyes, one might think she was genuinely amused.
"Yun Tianmo, did my presence interfere with your good plans?" Ouyang Zixin's laughter abruptly stopped. She looked seriously at the man who had made her so upset that she felt like vomiting blood, hoping he would speak the truth. No matter how hurtful that truth might be, she no longer wanted to hear lies.
"I don't know what you're talking about." If Yun Tianmo couldn’t recognize the implications in Ouyang Zixin's words at this moment, he would truly be letting down his sharp mind. But what caused Ouyang Zixin's unusual behavior? If he couldn't figure this out, it would be difficult for her to return to normal.
"Hmph, don’t know?" Ouyang Zixin sneered. "Yun Tianmo, why won’t you just tell the truth? I saw everything between you and Baike; I saw it all clearly."
"And what about you? Am I interfering with your good plans?" Turning around, Ouyang Zixin pointed at Baike and asked the same question. Looking at this fresh and charming woman in everyone's eyes, Ouyang Zixin wondered if she would also be attracted to Baike if she were a man.
Baike was just about to say something nonsensical when Yun Tianmo shot her a glare that silenced her. Remembering how she had impulsively attacked Ouyang Zixin earlier, she dared not say more. At least until her relationship with Yun Tianmo improved, it would be best not to have any conflicts with Ouyang Zixin.
Yun Tianmo's furious glare at Baike was perceived differently by Ouyang Zixin.
Now, in front of her, they were exchanging glances filled with meaning. So why not just admit their relationship?
Ouyang Zixin lowered her hand that was pointing at Baike, suddenly feeling that her questioning of the two was quite ridiculous. What position did she have to criticize them here?
Then she laughed. She laughed very loudly, almost unable to straighten up. And she didn't stop.
At that moment, Baike looked at Ouyang Zixin as if she were a madwoman. She didn't want to stay any longer; she needed to go back to find Tian Ying, who was still waiting for her.
Yun Tianmo watched the wildly laughing Ouyang Zixin and wanted to step forward but couldn't bring himself to do it. As someone in a higher position, even though he liked Ouyang Zixin, it was difficult for him to change his way of acting on the spot, especially since Ouyang Zixin clearly wasn't acting normally.
"Ha ha, you stop right there, don’t rush to leave," Ouyang Zixin said, forcing herself to hold back her laughter so Baike wouldn't leave.
Having laughed for too long, Ouyang Zixin felt that the corners of her eyes were becoming overly moist. Just as she tried to raise her arm to wipe away the tears of laughter, the pain from her shoulder injury made her gasp.
"You can leave or not; it's none of your business. You, Mo Wang, should keep an eye on her. I think she's not quite normal," Baike said, somewhat startled by Ouyang Zixin's abnormal behavior. Without caring about Yun Tianmo's reaction, she finished what she wanted to say and turned to leave.
"I'm not normal? Ha ha, Nameless, she actually thinks I'm not normal." Ouyang Zixin didn't even look at Yun Tianmo. As for what Baike said about him keeping an eye on her, she didn't care! What was Baike trying to do? Offer charity?
Ouyang Zixin had never accepted anyone's charity, especially when it came to something as intangible as feelings.
Nameless?
Yun Tianmo heard Ouyang Zixin and finally realized that Nameless, who had always been by her side, was nowhere to be found. He and Nameless were supposed to have some sort of connection, and if it weren't for Ouyang Zixin calling out Nameless's name, he might not have even noticed whether Nameless was there or not.
"Master, they can't see Nameless now, nor can they hear his voice." Nameless was somewhat worried about Ouyang Zixin's almost frenzied behavior at that moment, but soon he felt relieved. She needed to vent; he remembered that there were several ways for a person to release their emotions, including crying and laughing. Ouyang Zixin confidently spoke directly to him, which surprised Nameless; they only needed to communicate mentally.
"Haha, right, you're inside me, they can't see or hear you. Luckily, I still have you." Ouyang Zixin was initially taken aback but then laughed again, patting her head as if she had forgotten something very important. "Look at me; I really resemble her. I must be losing it."
"Come out." Yun Tianmo could no longer hold back as she listened to Ouyang Zixin's ramblings and coldly called out to her. Of course, the target was actually Nameless inside Ouyang Zixin.
In the past, Nameless might have obediently come out because he couldn't quite grasp what his relationship with Yun Tianmo was. She was the only one besides his master who could sense him. However, now it was different; sorry, but he wouldn't be listening to Yun Tianmo's words. If he could come out now, he would probably go straight for a confrontation.
"Are you calling me?" Ouyang Zixin feigned ignorance as she looked at Yun Tianmo and then pointed at Baike. "Or should I call her?"
"Ouyang Zixin, can you act normal for once?" This was the first time Yun Tianmo called her by both name and surname. She always felt that this woman was special, but there was no need for her to act so irrationally upon meeting.
"Oh? Then tell me what being normal means," Ouyang Zixin replied coldly as she looked at Yun Tianmo. This time her tone returned to normal; it was her usual indifference. "First you were nice to me, then you turned around and rushed off to embrace other women. Is that your idea of normal?"
Baike nearly gasped upon hearing this; if it weren't for her strong self-control, she might not have been able to cover her mouth in time.
Because when Ouyang Zixin was with other women, that murderous gaze was directed at her. (To be continued.)
