It seems that encounters between pairs have become an inevitable occurrence within the Millennium Ruins.

Well, there's no rush. Do you remember that every change occurring in this Underground Palace is due to some mechanism being triggered outside? Thus, the mechanism triggered by Feng Chengxuan and Zhai Yiqi once again allowed Yun Tianmo and Ouyang Zixin—oh right, and Nameless—to enter a mode of good fortune.
"Thud."
What was that sound?!
Ouyang Zixin was patrolling the mountains with Nameless when she suddenly heard something fall from above. She quickly turned around to look behind her, but due to the sudden movement, she couldn't stop in time and bumped into Yun Tianmo's chest with a thud.
"Hiss—" She gasped in surprise, covering her nose and unable to speak for a moment. What was up with this person's chest? Was it made of steel? So hard! She wondered if her nose had been broken.
"Master, are you alright?" Nameless glanced at Yun Tianmo secretly and saw that he seemed unaffected.
After a while, Ouyang Zixin regained her composure, wiped her tearful eyes, and shouted at Yun Tianmo: "Why were you following so closely behind me? It's one thing to follow me, but why stand so close? And when you saw me turn around, couldn't you step aside? Don't you know that bumping your nose hurts?"
Her voice echoed throughout the Underground Palace, making it feel less desolate. Even Nameless felt that since Yun Tianmo appeared, the entire Underground Palace seemed less eerie and cold; to exaggerate a bit, it felt as if it had become lively.
Yun Tianmo glanced at Ouyang Zixin, also catching sight of Nameless's spinning eyes. He slightly parted his thin lips and said, "It's my fault."
"Of course it's your fault! Are you blaming me?" Ouyang Zixin replied irritably. This person was really something. Wait, what? "You... you blame yourself?"
Yun Tianmo nodded, looking completely justified. He didn't think there was anything surprising about his words. It was indeed his fault. He knew she was about to turn, yet he maliciously blocked her, causing her to bump into his chest. Now seeing her nose slightly red and her tearful eyes, he felt that his earlier action of blocking her was inappropriate. So he readily took responsibility.
Unfortunately, Ouyang Zixin did not think this was a normal situation. She had known Yun Tianmo for quite some time; when had he ever taken the initiative to accept responsibility? Especially in front of her—he usually took every opportunity to bully her. For someone like him to directly say it was his fault?
"Nameless, what has happened to this world?" Ouyang Zixin turned mechanically to look at Nameless, her eyes filled with confusion.
Nameless responded with a look that seemed to say "You finally noticed the world has changed," then silently floated away. He wanted to find the source of the sound he heard earlier and see if anything had appeared.
Watching Nameless drift away, Ouyang Zixin felt she needed to educate him properly in the future. He really shouldn't float around in the Underground Palace; it could easily lead to misunderstandings. If someone got dizzy and mistook him for several others like him, it would be terrifying!
Ouyang Zixin rubbed her eyes; she had truly been dazed by the collision and had seen three figures resembling Nameless.
"Ah—"
Yun Tianmo looked at Ouyang Zixin, who suddenly screamed and pointed behind him with her mouth wide open, completely losing her composure. He frowned; while it looked somewhat cute, he couldn't let his image slip, so he said, "Shut up."
Ouyang Zixin's expression gradually turned fearful as if she had seen something terrifying. She shook her head vigorously and pointed even more forcefully at Yun Tianmo's back. Her strange demeanor left Yun Tianmo puzzled; what on earth was going on? Was she trying to tease him?
Despite his doubts, he turned around to take a look, and that glance made him understand the source of Ouyang Zixin's fear.
"Stand behind me." Yun Tianmo swiftly turned around, pulling Ouyang Zixin onto his back, while he faced the several Ghosts that had suddenly appeared before them.
In such an ancient Underground Palace, encountering situations like this was not unusual. However, these entities should have been more likely to appear when the entrance to the Underground Palace was first opened. How could they be present now, after so long with living beings still breathing?
"Ghosts." Ouyang Zixin shrank against Yun Tianmo, gripping his sleeve tightly, trembling with fear. She had always been terrified of these things. Even though she had changed continents and gained some cultivation, this deep-seated fear was difficult to overcome.
Yun Tianmo, who was used to seeing Ouyang Zixin fearless, was taken aback by her current state. He could clearly feel her trembling behind him, her words slightly slurred from fear. He tightened the arm that was protecting her, bringing her closer.
"Contact Nameless." Seeing the ghostly figures floating aimlessly in front of them, Yun Tianmo thought they were completely different from Nameless but seemed to share some connection. He wanted Ouyang Zixin to reach out to Nameless to see if communication could be established.
