When the emperor is enraged, corpses float for miles; when the iceberg is angered, the cold ice reaches great depths.
After witnessing Sky Treading and Black-Clad Figure twice in one night, he realized he had kicked a hard metal plate. Now he regretted chasing after them; it would have been much better if he had just left directly.
The girl in his hands had taken a hit for him, her life and death unknown. Without hesitation, he threw her towards Yun Tianmo and turned to flee.
If he had encountered someone else, perhaps he could have succeeded, but unfortunately, the person he faced was Yun Tianmo, the true master of Sky Treading. Thus, he was destined to be unable to escape.
It was only when Yun Tianmo stepped on him that he truly understood what it meant to regret too late.
"Ninth Prince." A hoarse voice struggled to utter those two words, not as a question but as a certainty.
Yun Tianmo, holding the unconscious Ouyang Zixin, looked down at the person beneath him with the disdain one might reserve for an ant. With a cold snort, he twisted his ankle and kicked directly at the man's left arm.
A cry of anguish escaped him. The man who had originally seen Ouyang Zixin as prey curled up like a beaten dog, lying helplessly on the ground, trembling uncontrollably, whether from fear or pain unclear.
Ignoring that man for the moment, Yun Tianmo gently laid Ouyang Zixin down against him and reached out to her forehead.
Confirming that Ouyang Zixin's Sea of Consciousness was unharmed, he chose not to look at the bloody wounds covering her body any longer. Instead, he enveloped her entirely with Mysterious Energy. Although this would only temporarily numb her pain, there was no other way at the moment.
After all, he wasn't skilled in healing.
Now that Ouyang Zixin was safe, it was time to take a good look at the person who had attempted to put her to death and dared to provoke him.
In Yun Tianmo's heart, at some point, Ouyang Zixin had already been brought under his wing. Anyone who dared to touch her without his consent was simply seeking their own demise.
He initially thought that such a person would never appear, but unexpectedly, he encountered one so soon and even witnessed the attempt on her life, using her as a shield.
It must be said that the Black-Clad Figure encountering Ouyang Zixin was not lucky at all. He had truly run into a streak of bad luck.
There was nothing worse than pushing Ouyang Zixin out to block an attack. This action made even the ice-cold figure unable to contain his anger.
Looking down at the man with disdain, his appearance naturally did not escape Yun Tianmo's keen eye. Hmph, it turned out to be someone familiar.
"Blind fool." With that glance, Yun Tianmo became even less courteous and kicked directly at the man's face.
The Black-Clad Figure realized that he could no longer hide his identity. After taking that kick, his nasal bone shattered completely. If he hadn’t died, it was because the Ninth Prince still forbade it.
"I didn’t know..." The man dared not remain lying down any longer; he crawled up and knelt on both knees, trembling as he explained why he had attempted to kill Ouyang Zixin.
He had entered Luoping Village not long ago and noticed this girl sneaking into the village. He had followed her for quite a while and discovered that she was neither one of his people nor did she have any accomplices. To ensure the secrecy of his actions, he had no choice but to act; he had no idea that this girl was actually acquainted with the Ninth Prince.
Hmph, no choice?
"With your cultivation level, it's better not to have it at all." Since he recognized Yun Tianmo and referred to himself as a servant in front of him, how could he fail to recognize Yun Tianmo's Mysterious Energy? He even dared to block him, and worse yet, used Ouyang Zixin as a shield.
In fact, the Black-Clad Figure was now no different from someone without any cultivation. He thought about slowly healing after returning, but after that kick from Yun Tianmo, half of his meridians were already severed. Even if he were to cultivate again in the future, he would achieve nothing significant.
But he dared not say anything more, silently lowering his head, hoping only to save his own life.
“White Beast, are you truly unaware or just pretending to be foolish?”
Yun Tianmo called out his name at that moment, which meant that he definitely would not survive this encounter.
The White Beast trembled all over, incredulously looking up at Yun Tianmo. His pale face appeared quite ghastly, and his eyes were fixed on Yun Tianmo, seemingly waiting for an answer.
Yun Tianmo had never been a soft-hearted person, but tonight he seemed to have developed a sense of compassion, preparing to do a good deed and let the person called White Beast die with clarity. He pointed at Ouyang Zixin and asked, “Do you know who she is?”
To dare to kill someone without even knowing their identity—such a person, no matter how high their cultivation level, would not earn his respect or be used again.
And since he was no longer useful, the only way to keep secrets was for him to die.
The White Beast had yet to grasp the significance of that girl’s identity; after all, she was merely a woman who had caught the Ninth Prince's eye. He had not heard of the Ninth Prince placing particular importance on any woman before.
Seeing that he still hadn’t figured it out, a cold smile crept onto Yun Tianmo's lips as he uttered two words.
Upon hearing those two words, the White Beast first reacted with disbelief, then it was as if he had received a tremendous shock. He began to tear at his own hair with both hands, his mouth agape but unable to produce any sound for a long time. Finally, he let out a scream filled with regret, sorrow, and despair.
Looking at it now, even if Yun Tianmo did not take action, the White Beast would ultimately not survive. So he no longer lingered and turned to pick up Ouyang Zixin, preparing to leave; her injuries needed urgent attention.
“Wait… wait…” The White Beast’s dazed eyes struggled to focus as he crawled closer to Yun Tianmo. He wanted to see that girl one last time—the girl he had almost killed by mistake.
Now, he no longer had that eerie and sinister aura; he was just an ordinary person who had lost the will to live, with only the completion of his final wish left before seeking death.
His cold gaze swept over the White Beast. Yun Tianmo did not expect him to want to take another look; it was simply a delusion.
He extended a finger towards the dawn sky and released a wave of Mysterious Energy. Immediately, two shadow guards appeared, one on each side, pinning him in place.
"Why are you called the White Beast? Why have you become part of the plan? You should be very clear about this. However, now you have acted on your own and harmed those you should not have harmed, so..."
Yun Tianmo gradually walked away, and he did not deliberately infuse his voice with Mysterious Energy, so the words that followed became indistinct. However, this did not hinder the understanding of the two shadow guards and the White Beast.
"Haha, I am... foolish! I have brought this upon myself!"
The two shadow guards had seen the White Beast before; his cultivation was above theirs. They initially thought that Master had left him for them to deal with and that it would take some effort, but they never expected this expert to have become so deranged.
They exchanged glances, seeing disbelief in each other's eyes—
Master wanted to kill a key figure in the plan for Ouyang Zixin!
Heavens, what incredible secret had they uncovered? (To be continued.)
