Lingchi Peak, located in the basin surrounded by Exiled Nation, Dream Nation, and Cloud Nation within the Three Kingdoms, towers high above, making its summit invisible to the eye.
It is said that Lingchi Peak is fraught with dangers. During the turmoil of the Yuhai Continent, this area was not protected by any barriers, allowing Mystical Beasts to enter and exit freely, wreaking havoc across the continent. They could injure lightly or devour heavily, until finally, under the combined efforts of the masters from the Three Kingdoms, a high-level barrier was established.
After the period of chaos passed, the Mystical Beasts that once ruled Lingchi Peak became a hunting ground for various nations, losing their former might.
For this expedition, many talented youths from the Three Kingdoms were dispatched to participate. The purpose was twofold: to increase their experience and to showcase each nation's strength. The cultivation level of the younger generation represents the future power of an empire; thus, excelling in this expedition would not only bring personal glory but also pride to their nation.
As the young lady of the National Protector's Mystic Master Manor, Ouyang Zixin was arranged to be among the first group entering. Each noble lady participating in the expedition could bring up to five attendants, ostensibly for their safety but actually a test of each household's strength.
Ouyang Hao also wanted to assign three guards to Ouyang Zixin; after all, bringing only two maidservants seemed insufficient.

Soon after, over a hundred people from the first batch began entering Lingchi Peak. Ouyang Zixin chose an inconspicuous corner to avoid the main group.
She was unfamiliar with most of those present and had no one to team up with. The only person she knew was Sito Rongyan, who she certainly could not ally with. It would be good enough if Sito Rongyan did not come at her aggressively.
Upon entering Lingchi Peak, Ouyang Zixin immediately felt the surrounding Mysterious Energy intensify significantly. Taking a deep breath, she instructed Liu Ying to conceal her presence. Although she did not know how many people noticed that she had brought two maidservants along, since Liu Ying practiced shadow guard techniques and could provide support from the shadows, it was undoubtedly the best choice.
"Do not reveal yourself easily without my command." Ouyang Zixin snapped his fingers, and Liu Ying immediately concealed herself in the shadows.

"Hurry, that's a mid-tier Flame Ice Beast! Capture it..." A sharp voice pierced through the air, filled with excitement.
Two burly guards sprang into action, blocking the beast's path from both sides. This Flame Ice Beast had already reached mid-tier cultivation and had vaguely developed intelligence. Seeing its escape route cut off, it became enraged and lunged at one of the guards.
The guard raised his hand to strike but remembered the order to capture it alive; he abruptly changed direction and struck a nearby trunk instead. The other guard, seeing this, did not hesitate and leaped forward, his hands clamping down on the beast's neck like iron pincers. No matter how much the Flame Ice Beast struggled, it could not break free from its grip.
The guard who had missed his strike now turned back around, gathering Mysterious Energy in his palm and shooting it towards the Flame Ice Beast's eyes with a loud shout.
With its neck restrained and Mysterious Energy aimed directly at its eyes, there was no way for the Flame Ice Beast to evade; ultimately subdued, it lay on the ground gasping for breath.
"Haha, I didn't expect this Flame Ice Beast to be so weak! You all, quickly skin it while it's still alive. Remember, do not let it die before that." A young woman exclaimed joyfully. "The skin taken while it's alive is the most beautiful; I want to take it back as a gift for my mother. She will surely love it."
Tsk tsk, truly cruel.
Passing through this place, Ouyang Zixin heard the woman's words. Although she had hunted Mystical Beasts before, she had never skinned one alive.
The Flame Ice Beast seemed to understand human speech, whimpering as if it were either begging for mercy or mourning its impending fate.
"Miss?" Liu Lvy was unsure why Ouyang Zixin wanted her to stop. What was so interesting about hunting and skinning a Mystical Beast?
"Do you recognize who this woman is?" Ouyang Zixin asked, feeling a bit sorry for the Flame Ice Beast lying on the ground, despite its pitiful state.
"I do. That woman is the Second Young Lady of the Zhao Family from the imperial capital, born of a legitimate line," Liu Lvy replied without hesitation. "It is said that she is ruthless; even the servants in her household fear her like a tiger. Every year, she beats and scolds countless maids and servants to death, and even the guards cannot find favor with her."
Zhao Family.
Ouyang Zixin silently noted this down, thinking it would be useful to know how to deal with her if they ever crossed paths in the future.
She had no interest in what happened next. Although she felt pity for the Flame Ice Beast, it was only temporary. In this world of survival of the fittest, if the people brought by the Zhao Family's Second Young Lady were not strong enough today, it would be them who would die.
"We should go."
"Yes, Miss." Liu Lvy said, taking Ouyang Zixin's hand and quickly leading her deeper into the dense forest.
They needed to find a safe place to rest before nightfall.
