Moreover, what he found even harder to accept was that after years of painstaking research in martial arts, he had finally reached his current level of cultivation, and the Divine Realm was within his grasp. Yet, he never expected that all his efforts over seventy years would amount to less than one percent of a young junior's abilities. This blow was too great; Cheng Shunwu's mindset completely shattered with Jiang Chen's slap.
"I don't believe it! I was just careless! I want to fight you again!" Cheng Shunwu suddenly stood up, speaking with a hint of madness.
In this world, sometimes face is more important than life itself. Cheng Shunwu wanted to regain his dignity and challenge Jiang Chen once more. However, he was unaware that he didn't even have the qualification to fight Jiang Chen again.
Jiang Chen's expression darkened. He had already said and proven everything that needed to be said and proven, yet Cheng Shunwu still failed to recognize the situation. For someone who couldn't see the reality, Jiang Chen felt no need to be polite.
"Since you still don't believe it, then there's no need for you to believe it," Jiang Chen said calmly. He then shaped his hand like a blade, channeling his spiritual energy into a brilliant cold light that slashed down towards Cheng Shunwu.
A streak of cold light, dozens of meters long, appeared out of thin air, descending like a rainbow. Cheng Shunwu's eyes widened in shock as he could only stare in disbelief.
Before the cold light even reached him, a powerful pressure descended upon him. Despite being at the Pinnacle of Transformation level, he was now pale with fear.
"I believe! I believe! Please spare me, Mr. Jiang!" Cheng Shunwu suddenly knelt down, no longer caring about his image as he shouted for mercy.
The cold light stopped just three inches above Cheng Shunwu's head before vanishing into thin air. Although the cold light did not strike him, the fierce shockwave had already torn apart the clothes on his body. His blood vessels slightly ruptured, blood oozed from his seven orifices and skin, creating a gruesome sight, yet he was still alive.
If he had delayed begging for mercy by just one second, Jiang Chen would not have been able to stop in time. If the cold light had fallen, not even a steel body could have survived intact against such power.
"If you had believed earlier, you wouldn't have ended up like this," Jiang Chen said indifferently.
"Thank you, Mr. Jiang! Spare my life!" Cheng Shunwu said tearfully. Just moments ago, he had wandered near death's door and now felt an overwhelming sense of relief at still being alive.
Cheng Kai and Xiao Junyong were struck dumb as if hit by lightning; they couldn't accept what had just happened. Jiang Chen's earlier strike was terrifying—was this still human?
"Then Mr. Jiang, I won't disturb you any longer; I'll take my leave," Cheng Shunwu said as he stood up. His clothes were tattered and blood flowed freely from him; at this moment, fear consumed him so completely that he forgot about the pain.
"You can leave, but your grandson offended me. How do you propose we settle this?" Jiang Chen smiled. Since Cheng Kai had repeatedly provoked him, Jiang Chen would not let him off easily.
Upon hearing this, Cheng Kai was struck with terror and turned pale with fright.
Cheng Shunwu froze in place as he looked at his grandson. Suddenly gritting his teeth in determination, he growled, "Cheng Kai! You ungrateful fool! Offending Mr. Jiang means you must cripple your own hands to apologize!"
Seeing that his grandfather was serious and not joking around, Cheng Kai was terrified to the core; with a scream, he turned and ran away.
Seeing his grandson run away, Cheng Shunwu did not stop him; in fact, he hoped his grandson would escape.
"Thinking of running?" Jiang Chen smiled lightly, and a flicker of Spirit Fire appeared in his palm. He unleashed the Spirit Fire, chasing after Cheng Kai.
Cheng Shunwu realized that something was terribly wrong, but it was too late. The Spirit Fire, seemingly ordinary, ignited upon touching Cheng Kai as if it had landed on gasoline. In mere seconds, it engulfed him in flames, turning him to ashes that dispersed into the air.
Cheng Shunwu's body trembled uncontrollably; he could not tell if it was from rage or terror. His eyes were bloodshot, and his expression was twisted with fury. How could he not hate seeing his grandson burned to death before him?
"Kai'er! Kai'er!" Cheng Shunwu rushed over, grasping at the air with his hands, but in the gentle breeze, there were no remains of his grandson left.
"What just happened? Was that ghost fire?"
"How terrifying! Who is this Mr. Jiang? How can he be so powerful?"
"We saw him kill someone; he won't come after us to silence us, will he?"
Many people spoke in panic. Jiang Chen appeared harmless, just like an ordinary young man, but who could have imagined that such a sunny youth could kill without blinking? It was utterly frightening.
Lin Bingbing and her friend were nearly clinging to each other at this moment. Just a few hours ago, they had been fine; now they had witnessed two deaths right before their eyes.
Even Lin Bingbing, though aware of Jiang Chen's immense power, found it hard to fathom that he possessed such a cruel side and would go to such lengths to eliminate threats.
Li Ruoxi and others trembled in fear; Jiang Chen seemed inhuman. Xiao He and Cheng Kai had only offended him verbally and were killed for it. If Jiang Chen decided to settle scores later, they would be in grave danger.
If Jiang Chen dared to kill someone with such a powerful background as Xiao He and Cheng Kai, what chance did they stand as mere celebrities?
"Bingbing, I... I didn't realize how formidable Jiang Chen was before. I may have unintentionally offended him with my words. You have to help me explain later," Li Ruoxi pleaded as she grabbed Lin Bingbing's arm.
"Don't worry; Jiang Chen shouldn't hold it against you," Lin Bingbing reassured her.
"I'm really scared of him now. Bingbing, did you know he was this powerful before?" Li Ruoxi continued to fret.
"I didn't know; I only heard about it from a friend last night," Lin Bingbing shook her head.
"Ah, you trust people too easily. But this time, you trusted the right one," Li Ruoxi sighed.
At that moment, Xiao Junyong felt a bit better seeing Cheng Kai killed; at least his son had company on the road to the underworld and wouldn’t be alone.
As for revenge, Xiao Junyong dared not even think about it. Elder Cheng, a martial arts giant, did not dare seek vengeance for his grandson's death; how could he? Even though his heart was filled with hatred, Jiang Chen was a killing god who slaughtered without hesitation. Xiao Junyong knew that if he sought revenge, he would likely meet the same fate as Cheng Kai—reduced to nothing but ashes—and he certainly did not want to die.
Cheng Shunwu glanced at Jiang Chen but ultimately said nothing and left alone. The level Jiang Chen operated on was beyond what Cheng Shunwu could challenge; if Jiang Chen wanted him dead, it would be merely a thought away.
With Cheng Shunwu gone, the entire venue fell silent.
Jiang Chen glanced at Xiao Junyong and said calmly, "Do you think your son deserves to die now?"
"Uh, yes, he should die, he should die," Xiao Junyong replied helplessly, forcing himself to say it.
"Alright, let's end this matter here. I don't see any point in this underground boxing match anymore," Jiang Chen said lightly before walking away.
Although Xiao Junyong felt unwilling, he did not dare to stop him and could only watch as Jiang Chen left.
