Zhang Qiu and Lan Ningshan were searching around the not-so-spacious private room when Lan Ningshan suddenly plopped down on the sofa and said, "There isn't even a box here. How can we hide anything?"
As soon as Lan Ningshan finished speaking, she noticed Zhang Qiu lunging toward her. She quickly raised her hands defensively and looked at Zhang Qiu warily, asking, "What are you doing?"
Zhang Qiu replied, "Get up."
As soon as Lan Ningshan stood up, Zhang Qiu instructed, "Sit down like you did before."
Lan Ningshan remained still, looking at Zhang Qiu with suspicion, unsure of what he was up to.
Zhang Qiu urged, "Sister Lan, sit down quickly."
Seeing the urgency in Zhang Qiu's tone, Lan Ningshan complied and sat back down. A bright smile instantly appeared on Zhang Qiu's face, prompting Lan Ningshan to ask, "What's wrong with you?"
Zhang Qiu didn't answer but instead told her to get up again. With questions in her mind, Lan Ningshan stood up once more and saw Zhang Qiu leaning over the side of the sofa, tapping and knocking around.
When Lan Ningshan had just sat down, Zhang Qiu had caught her remark about there being no boxes. Suddenly realizing that this was precisely the secret they were trying to uncover, he thought that if there were no boxes, it must be hidden somewhere else. The sofa was large enough to easily conceal something.
Zhang Qiu attempted to move the top leather cushion of the sofa aside. Realizing his intention, Lan Ningshan joined in. However, to Zhang Qiu's surprise, there was nothing unusual underneath the sofa. Lan Ningshan was also bewildered; she had been excited about completing their task but now felt it was all in vain.
Sweat had already formed on Zhang Qiu's forehead. The noise outside continued unabated, leaving him with little time. He forced himself to calm down and began surveying the entire room from top to bottom. Finally, his gaze landed on the table.
Aside from the floor, the only place he hadn't checked was the table. As he contemplated inspecting it, he hesitated again. What if there was nothing wrong with the table?
"Zhang Qiu, stop dawdling and think of a solution," Lan Ningshan said as she paced back and forth nearby.
A panicked voice from the earpiece of Wang Hailong came through: "What happened? Why is everyone running out?"
Lan Ningshan quickly pressed the call button to respond to Wang Hailong, informing him about the fire on the second floor and their current situation with Zhang Qiu.
"Zhang Qiu, I command you to retreat immediately!"
"Understood."
Wang Hailong's final command gave Zhang Qiu determination. Zhang Qiu grabbed Lan Ningshan, who was about to leave, and said, "Don't rush; there's one last place."
Qiu Wan began pushing the two glass tea tables in the private room. No matter how hard Zhang Qiu pushed, the glass tea tables remained unmoved. Lan Ningshan urged, "Zhang Qiu, hurry up! If we don't leave now, it will be too late."
Zhang Qiu remained unfazed, focused on the two glass tea tables in front of him. He reached out with his right hand and knocked on them. Suddenly, he pushed, and a section of the glass tea table's base caved in, revealing a hidden red button.
Zhang Qiu smiled, reset the base, took Lan Ningshan's hand, and headed outside. Inside the room, the brothers sprayed dry powder everywhere with fire extinguishers, creating a white haze. Zhang Qiu and Lan Ningshan maneuvered through the chaos to the door as a waiter urged them, "Hurry up! Move it!"
Zhang Qiu and Lan Ningshan descended the stairs to the lobby. The music played, lights were bright, but the place was empty except for scattered debris. Stepping out of Azure Blue Rose's doors, Lan Ningshan sighed in relief; they had finally escaped without serious harm.
Upon seeing Wang Hailong, Lan Ningshan said dejectedly, "Captain Wang, I'm sorry; we..."
"You all did very well," Wang Hailong interrupted her. "I saw your efforts."
"Zhang Qiu, why are you smiling?"
Wang Hailong inadvertently looked up and found Zhang Qiu smiling at him. The mission had failed; was there really anything to smile about?
Zhang Qiu said seriously, "Captain Wang, let's take action."
"Take action?"
"Yes, take action."
"You mean..." Wang Hailong didn't continue, but he vaguely felt that Zhang Qiu was about to share some good news.
"Captain Wang, I have already figured out where the enemy is hiding the drugs. I am now requesting approval from the organization to act immediately."
Wang Hailong turned his sorrow into joy and pointed at Zhang Qiu, asking, "You're not lying to me, are you?"
"Absolutely not."
Lan Ningshan looked at Zhang Qiu in surprise and lightly nudged him, saying, "When did you find out? Why didn't you tell me?"
Zhang Qiu chuckled and replied, "The situation was urgent at that time. It's not too late for you to know now."
"Zhang Qiu, quickly tell me where it is!" Wang Hailong was eager to know. He was just about to order a retreat; if they couldn't find the enemy's hiding place, acting recklessly would only make Chen Hu more vigilant.
"I'll take you there."
Zhang Qiu turned to leave, but Wang Hailong grabbed him and said, "Don't go."
"Why not?"
"For your safety. You're helping us, and your identity can't be exposed." Wang Hailong stared intently into Zhang Qiu's eyes, his expression serious.
Zhang Qiu thought about it and found it reasonable. Since they had professionals on their team, he could leave the rest to them. He would step back and go home.
"Go up to the first floor. There's a large room on the second floor with individual booths separated by curtains. At the far west end, there are two dark Black Oak Doors. After you go in, at the base of the glass Tea Table, you can push it in about ten centimeters; there's a button right there. I didn't press it, but it's almost certainly correct."
Wang Hailong excitedly grabbed Zhang Qiu's shoulders and said that if this was true, he would achieve great merit. Wang Hailong then ran out to lead the team himself, continuously issuing commands through his earpiece.
"Team One, move out! Team Two, move out! Team Three, secure the front entrance! Team Four, head to the hotel rooftop!"
In an instant, team members dressed in black police uniforms and special operations gear rushed towards Azure Blue Rose, with Wang Hailong leading the charge, holding a Type 92 police handgun high above his head. The guards at Azure Blue Rose saw this and urgently contacted their superiors. However, after only a few words, they were subdued by armed police.
Chen Hu received the news as Wang Hailong entered the lobby while he was bringing people down from the second floor. Chen Hu looked at Wang Hailong and smiled, saying, "Officer Wang, it's good to see you again. I wonder what brings so many brothers here at this late hour? Yes, there’s a fire here, but isn’t that the fire department's job?"
Wang Hailong ignored Chen Hu's words and waved his hand decisively. "Conduct a thorough inspection."
"Yes!" The police responded in unison, their powerful shouts echoing in the lobby.
Chen Hu's expression changed as he watched the police coming up from the second floor. He stepped aside to let them pass, but his subordinates blocked the staircase. Both parties argued back and forth—neither side willing to yield—confident that the police wouldn't dare to open fire.
Wang Hailong shouted, "Who dares to obstruct the police in their duties? Take them away and lock them up!"
"Everyone disperse and cooperate with the police," Chen Hu waved his hand to his subordinates, and the dozen or so men blocking the staircase immediately stepped aside.
Wang Hailong led the group of officers upstairs and noticed a cold smile on Chen Hu's face as they brushed past each other.
Wang Hailong headed straight for Zhang Qiu's room. As he pushed the door open, a cloud of white powder rushed out, causing him to cough. Covering his nose, he entered and found the room indeed spacious, with a large stage in the center, but not a single steel pipe belonging to Zhang Qiu was in sight.
Wang Hailong realized this was a trick played by Chen Hu. In the past, when the police had inspected this place, it had been treated as an ordinary VIP room. Now, with Zhang Qiu involved, Wang Hailong understood what this place was really for. However, today's main objective was not to crack down on prostitution; seizing drugs would deal a blow to Chen Hu greater than a hundred raids on prostitution.
As Wang Hailong entered the room, Chen Hu followed him in and pointed at the disarray within, saying, "Captain Wang, there was a fire here just now. Shouldn't we move to another location?"
"No need; it's better here. I'll help you investigate the cause of the fire."
Chen Hu smiled and said, "Having Captain Wang inspect is perfect. I'm very curious if someone is trying to set me up."
Wang Hailong also smiled and began checking each private room one by one. One room's curtain had been reduced to ashes. As he walked in and looked at the deformed sofa, he kicked out a few plastic fragments from the ashes on the floor. Taking advantage of others' inattention, Wang Hailong slipped a few plastic pieces into his pocket.
Wang Hailong approached the room with the Black Oak Door, and his subordinates quickly pushed the door open. Once inside, Wang Hailong ordered, "Close the door."
The two dark Black Oak Doors slammed shut with a bang. Chen Hu, left in the large room, suddenly furrowed his brow as an ominous premonition rose in his heart.
Wang Hailong surveyed the glass tea table in the room and personally crouched down to search along its edge but failed to locate Zhang Qiu. He spoke into his earpiece, "Zhang Qiu, Zhang Qiu, where are you?"
"Captain Wang, I'm in the Alley, have you found it?"
"I found the room, but I can't locate a way to push it in. You go to the command vehicle; there’s a computer inside. I’ll transmit the live video to you, and you tell me where it is."
"Okay, I'll head back immediately."
Standing in the Alley to get some fresh air, Zhang Qiu quickly returned to the command vehicle. The technician had successfully connected with Wang Hailong and was just waiting for Zhang Qiu to arrive. On the computer in the command vehicle, the scene inside the Azure Blue Rose private room appeared. Someone was guarding the door while Wang Hailong crouched on the floor, with the camera positioned directly facing the Tea Table.
"Move left a bit, a bit more to the left, forward, yes!"
Following Zhang Qiu's instructions, Wang Hailong managed to push in a section of the glass Tea Table's base. He reached in and felt a circular button appear in his hand.
This is it! Wang Hailong eagerly pressed the button, and after a few seconds of pause, a section of the floor suddenly sank down. Wang Hailong walked over to take a look; all four sides were secured with combination locks.
Wang Hailong said, "Bring Chen Hu in!"
One of his subordinates went out, and Chen Hu was just outside. He was brought into the private room in less than a minute. Chen Hu looked at the safe beneath the floor, his eyes twitching slightly.
