Chapter One Hundred Sixty-Four: Oh, In-Law!
Zhang Qiu saw Wang Zhengxiang shouting and quickly let go, repeatedly apologizing. He was so excited that he momentarily forgot that due to his martial arts training, he was stronger than usual and needed to control his strength to avoid hurting others.
Gao Zhi shouted loudly, "Brother Qiu, when are we going to find Biao Ge?"

Those with matters to attend to should do so; those without should sit quietly for a while. You’re all about to take the college entrance exam; you shouldn’t wait for others to push you into studying. Work hard now, and your future selves will thank you for your efforts."
After Zhao Guohong finished his lecture, he led Zhang Qiu and Jiang Xue to the Director's Office.
Inside the Director's Office, Zhang Zhi Hua was already there. Zhang Qiu called out, "Dad."
"Uncle, how's your leg?" Jiang Xue asked upon seeing Zhang Zhi Hua arrive personally, feeling an inexplicable pang of sadness.
Zhang Zhi Hua smiled slightly and took a couple of steps as if to prove something. "Uncle's leg is fine; it's recovering well. I’ll be back at work next week."
"Dad, maybe you should rest a bit longer," Zhang Qiu said, still worried about his father's leg.
Zhang Zhi Hua laughed heartily. "No more resting! How long would that go on? I need to get back to work and earn money to help you find a wife." He glanced at Jiang Xue, who blushed and lowered her head but smiled happily.
Director Zhao cleared his throat twice and timely said, "Zhang Qiu, do you see how hard it is for parents? Even when injured, their thoughts are still on their children. You must study hard and repay them; you can't always be mischievous. You're old enough now; it's time to be more responsible."
Zhang Zhi Hua took the opportunity to educate Zhang Qiu as well: "Did you hear what your director said? You need to study well."
"Yes, yes, that's definitely the case," Zhang Qiu replied cheerfully despite being called in by his parents.
"Zhang Qiu's father, let's get back on track. We called you here today because we need to discuss your son's issues," Director Zhao resumed a serious demeanor. Regardless of how they handled Zhang Qiu, they needed to maintain a proper attitude.
"Director, my son has caused trouble for the school again, hasn't he? I'm really sorry, I will definitely discipline him well," Zhang Zhi Hua apologized to Director Zhao.
Zhang Qiu called out, "Dad."
"Shut up," Zhang Zhi Hua snapped at Zhang Qiu.
Zhang Qiu pouted helplessly and stopped talking, watching his father and Director Zhao. Director Zhao said seriously, "It's like this, Zhang Qiu didn't cause any trouble for the school this time."
"That's good, that's good." Seeing that Zhang Qiu hadn't caused any trouble, Zhang Zhi Hua's previously gloomy face brightened.
Director Zhao, interrupted, continued, "Don't be in a hurry. Although Zhang Qiu didn't cause trouble, he did commit a serious taboo."
Zhang Zhi Hua shot a glare at Zhang Qiu. Zhang Qiu looked at Director Zhao; regarding dating, he wasn't worried about what his father would say. It was a joke; Jiang Xue had stayed at their home before, and his father was particularly pleased with her as a daughter-in-law. What could he possibly say?
"Zhang Qiu is dating this girl; do you know her?" Director Zhao pointed at Jiang Xue while Zhao Guohong stepped aside to give them space.
Director Zhao had expected Zhang Zhi Hua to explode with anger and harshly criticize Zhang Qiu, perhaps even hit him a few times. He thought he would have to act as a mediator to quickly resolve the situation with a light reprimand. However, to Director Zhao's surprise, Zhang Zhi Hua looked at Jiang Xue and then at Director Zhao and suddenly smiled, saying, "Director Zhao, I know about this matter. Jiang Xue had lunch at my house today; I cooked for her myself."
Director Zhao, Zhao Guohong, and even the usually silent Security Chief were left speechless. Was this really a parent?
After a long moment, Director Zhao gestured for Zhao Guohong to speak. Zhao Guohong was also stunned; it was her first time encountering such a parent. After thinking for a moment, she said, "Mr. Zhang, your child is currently at a crucial stage for the college entrance examination. Having a relationship could greatly affect his studies. Moreover, supporting him in this is perhaps a bit premature."
Zhang Zhi Hua looked kindly at Zhao Guohong and smiled, "You must be Zhang Qiu's homeroom teacher, the one who called me before?"
"Yes, that's me," Zhao Guohong nodded.
"Hello, Teacher Zhao. Here's how I see it: young people at this age all have someone they like; didn't we all have crushes back then? Nowadays some parents are adamant about their children not dating in high school but then push them into relationships as soon as they enter college—it's only been a few months apart! I feel it's better to respect the child's own choices; what do you think, Teacher Zhao?"
Zhang Zhi Hua's reasoning left Zhao Guohong dumbfounded. In her many years as a homeroom teacher, she had never encountered such a perspective from a parent. Most parents hoped their children would focus on their studies and avoid unnecessary distractions—especially relationships. But here was Zhang Qiu's parent who not only didn’t oppose it but also had profound reasoning behind it. No wonder Zhang Qiu dared to be so bold; it turned out the issue stemmed from his father. Zhao Guohong sighed repeatedly; truly, if the child is not taught properly, it is the parent's fault.
"I believe students should focus on their studies. For high school students, the only important thing is the college entrance examination; everything else can be set aside for this," Zhao Guohong said seriously.
"Teacher Zhao is right; we should study hard," Zhang Zhi Hua echoed while looking at Zhang Qiu and asking, "Did you hear that? You need to study well!"
Zhang Qiu nodded repeatedly. Just then, there was a knock on the door of the Director's Office, and a man with a dark complexion appeared in front of everyone. His face was lined with deep creases, and his eyes darted around nervously; it could only be Second Uncle.
"Second Uncle!" Zhang Qiu and Jiang Xue exclaimed almost simultaneously.
Second Uncle cautiously pushed the door open and walked in, rubbing his hands together. When he saw Zhang Zhi Hua, he grinned widely. Upon seeing Jiang Xue, his eyes lit up with excitement as he stepped in front of her, looking her up and down in surprise, saying, "Xue'er, you're out!"
"I'm fine now, Second Uncle," Jiang Xue replied with a sweet smile.
Second Uncle was unaware that Jiang Xue had already been released. Zhao Guohong had called him to the school, still thinking it was about Jiang Xue being detained. Auntie had specifically sent him to handle the situation. To his delight, Jiang Xue was fine, and Second Uncle smiled broadly, revealing his yellowed teeth.
Zhang Zhi Hua also smiled and said, "Second Uncle, Jiang Xue is fine now."
"Oh, in-law!" Second Uncle's words shocked everyone. Zhao Guohong thought to himself that this really confirmed the old saying—people who are not family do not enter the same door. How could Jiang Xue's parent be so surprising as to call him in-law right away? Are people nowadays so progressive in their thinking, or is he just too old-fashioned?
