"Stay here. If I let out a long howl later, it will prove that the White Bone Ghost Lotus is in hand, and my brother will take you down the mountain quickly." Having been watching Byron and the others, at this moment, he felt the timing was right and quickly instructed Eve. Then, he suddenly dashed out of the cave with an unusual stride, swiftly heading toward the cave of the Two-Headed Lizard King Beast.
"Be careful." As he moved, Eve inexplicably called out, her voice surprisingly filled with concern, which startled her after she said it.
Not long after he left, Simba, having received Byron's order, responded with a quick acknowledgment. Suddenly accelerating, he dashed out of the encirclement under the cover of Byron and Six People, transforming into a wisp of green smoke as he rushed toward the same direction as him.
At the top of Yin Mountain, nearly eighty percent of the Two-Headed Lizards were restrained by Byron and his group. Encouraged by the King Beast, these Two-Headed Lizards had completely fallen into madness, glaring with blood-red eyes and attacking recklessly at Byron and his companions surrounded by the Seven Star Formation. This frenzied assault, combined with the unexpectedly Quasi-Advanced strength of the King Beast, made it extremely difficult for Byron and his group to maneuver even with the Amplification from their formation.
Byron wielded a Broad Sword, his hair disheveled as he fought with all his might. His eyes were filled with fierce battle intent. Each swing of his massive sword crackled with lightning like a furious thunderbolt descending from above, carrying immense force. The myriad sword lights amplified by the Seven Star Formation appeared sharp and condensed, causing the Two-Headed Lizard King Beast to roar in anger.
However, even though they had restrained most of the beast horde, it could not last long. The other five members besides Byron could only barely defend themselves against the frenzied attacks of over a hundred Two-Headed Lizards. Although Byron seemed evenly matched against the Two-Headed Lizard King Beast in their fierce clash, each of his attacks landed on the King Beast's massive body with thunderous sounds and sparks flying but left no wounds at all.
In contrast, while the King Beast initially struggled to adapt to Byron's attack patterns—especially due to the paralysis effect caused by the lightning power in each of Byron's strikes—it gradually became accustomed to them over time.
The King Beast possessed Quasi-Advanced strength; even if its realm was not stable, its fierce and bloodthirsty energy field was genuine.
After overcoming its initial discomfort, it began to unleash a ferocious counterattack. Its powerful claws shot out like a mountain crashing down, surrounded by an energy field that contrasted sharply with its swift movements.
Boom!
Caught off guard, Byron roared as he raised his sword to meet it. A shadow fell upon him as it collided with his giant sword, creating a deafening explosion. A tremendous force akin to a landslide or tsunami crashed down on him. The Seven Star Formation above him buzzed ominously before a massive halo of light enveloped him in an instant.
Crack! Crack! Crack! The moment the halo appeared, it emitted sounds of being overwhelmed before shattering into countless specks of light. Byron spat out a mouthful of blood as his body shot backward like a cannonball toward the ground. With a thunderous crash, the ground trembled violently as dust surged upward like a rising mushroom cloud.
"Boss!" The faces of Black Tower and others turned pale with fear as they attempted to rush in for rescue but were once again surrounded tightly by the frenzied attacks of the Two-Headed Lizards. They could only watch helplessly as the Two-Headed Lizard King Beast dove down fiercely while spewing two clouds of red and blue poison mist and extending its claws to pounce on Byron in the pit below.
The sudden change in circumstances was dizzying; Byron and his companions who had been able to maneuver somewhat were now trapped in a dire situation due to the unexpectedly Quasi-Advanced strength of the Two-Headed Lizard King Beast. At this moment, Bu was merely thirty yards away from the cave of the Two-Headed Lizard King Beast.
With Bu's speed, he could cover that distance in just two steps. Not far behind him, Simba’s figure transformed into green smoke was also faintly visible; he had clearly noticed Bu at this point.
"Damn it! Stop!" After just a moment's surprise, Simba reacted instantly with a furious roar. Seeing Bu about to rush into the towering cave that stood dozens of yards high, Simba's eyes widened in rage. With a violent shout, his speed suddenly surged as he tore through the ground with an ear-piercing sound, plowing a long trench behind him as he closed in on Bu within ten yards.
Seven people were in the group, and apart from the strongest, Byron, the lean Simba was the fastest. Otherwise, the task of stealing the White Bone Ghost Lotus would not have fallen to him. At this moment, as he sprinted at full speed, Step immediately sensed several sharp sounds of wind slicing through the air behind him, indicating that the enemy had already launched an attack.
"Hmph." Bu Leng chuckled, not turning around to counterattack. Step Nine activated, and his figure suddenly soared into the air, darting into the dark cave.
"You bastard!" After three attacks missed their target, Simba gritted his teeth and shouted angrily, tightly gripping his Hooked Longsword as he pursued into the cave.
The cave was pitch black, damp and cold. As soon as Step entered, he was nearly overwhelmed by a strong stench that made him want to vomit. He quickly held his breath and sped along the only path in the cave.
Along the way, countless white bones and mutilated beast corpses were scattered everywhere, resembling a slaughterhouse. Strangely enough, there was no mist in this cave; thus, even though it was dark, Step could see a considerable area clearly.
"Kid, don't run! If you don't want to die, stand still!"
Simba's furious roar echoed behind him, sounding exceptionally clear due to the cave's acoustics.
Step shook his head and smiled, continuing forward without slowing down. Simba's angry shouts followed closely behind him. However, despite this, it was difficult for Simba to catch up in such a short time—especially in this dark cave filled with bones that created many obstacles. His speed was clearly affected, making it hard to close the distance like he could outside.
"The deeper we go into this cave, the more it descends and the temperature drops. I fear I have already traveled several hundred feet down. If that's the case, I must be nearing the heart of Yin Mountain," Bu Shuang thought with a flicker of surprise in his eyes. Just then, he faintly heard the sound of flowing water ahead, which made his eyes light up.
With another burst of speed amidst Simba's furious roars behind him, Step suddenly found himself in a wide-open space filled with bizarre sights.
The intense stench faded away at that moment as he came upon a vast Underground Cavern that stretched endlessly before him. In its depths, it appeared quite narrow—just wide enough for one person to pass through.
The scenery inside the cavern was extraordinary; strange-shaped Stalactites hung from the ceiling—some resembling elephant trunks, others like bells or waterfalls cascading down—reflecting off the surface of an underground river that flowed gently with a tinkling sound and shimmering colors.
However, what marred this beautiful scene were countless bones scattered haphazardly around the cavern. Near where the riverbed widened like a grand hall stood a massive rock protruding from the ground. This rock was covered with more bones piled high like a mound but had a noticeable depression in its center—clearly where the Two-Headed Lizard King Beast often rested.
"White Bone Ghost Lotus!" Bu Shuang's gaze sharpened as he spotted a flower growing among the gaps in the pile of bones on that massive rock. The flower was pure white with black petals; it had not fully bloomed yet, and its blood-red stamen was not yet prominent. However, judging by its state of bloom, it seemed very close to opening.
"Kid! You better die!"
Just as Step became entranced by seeing the White Bone Ghost Lotus, Simba had caught up behind him. Without hesitation, he thrust his sword toward Step's back with an angry roar. The Sword Aura flickered like a serpent's tongue—condensed and incredibly sharp—sending a piercing sensation even before it reached him.
Bu Shuang's gaze suddenly turned cold, her narrow eyes sharp as willow leaves, piercing and fierce. With the treasure ahead, there was no need for words. The Taiyuan Spear appeared in her hand, swinging around her waist in a half-circle, she took a stance like a bow and executed a counterattack!
A dazzling light flashed, resembling the twinkling of stars in the universe. Coupled with the Crescent Moon Execution, the counterattack added an element of surprise to the already lightning-fast Chasing Stars and Pursuing the Moon. Its speed was astonishing, arriving before the opponent could react, and its force was overwhelming, directly targeting Yellow Dragon!
Clang!
The sound of metal clashing resonated through the cave, creating waves of echoes.
Xinba's face turned crimson as he felt the pressure; his sword technique had only unfolded halfway before being met by the spear's tip, which struck him like a mountain. He stumbled back several steps, crashing hard against the cave wall, a sweet taste rising in his throat—he had suffered a setback right from their first clash.
With one move to repel the enemy, Bu showed no hesitation. Her eyes were as cold as blades as she surged forward. With a mocking laugh, she unleashed another thrust, the blood-red spearhead resembling a shark eager to drink blood, roaring through the air as it lunged at Xinba.
"Seeking death! Heart extraction and skull splitting!" Xinba exclaimed in fury as he regained his breath. Seeing Bu pursue him again ignited his rage. His clothes fluttered without wind as he unleashed energy several times greater than Bu Qiang. Above him, the Seven Star Formation spun rapidly, casting several rays of light to shield him. With a whoosh, his Hooked Longsword flew from his hand, transforming into a streak of light that sliced toward Bu.
Swish! Swish! Swish! As Xinba executed this peculiar move, his longsword spun in mid-air and released countless sharp sword energies, each taking on a hooked shape that tore through the air like flocks of birds, spreading sharp metal energy across the surroundings.
Startled, Bu An scolded herself for being overconfident. Activating Step Nine, she halted mid-air and shifted to a defensive stance. The spear's Reformation Technique was suddenly unleashed in the form of Starry Night, pouring down like silver starlight—a cascade resembling a galaxy. The spear's momentum retracted within it, navigating through and neutralizing all attacks.
