In the cave halfway up the Yin Mountain, two urgent and piercing screams echoed, lingering in the air. Hong Lian remained calm, his eyes showing no signs of disturbance. In his arms, Wendy furrowed her brows, gripping the fabric of Hong Lian's robe a little tighter.
"Brent, they captured me this time, and I'm so scared. I'm afraid I won't see you again. They want to kill you. That Barto killed you and then took me and Sister Amy as concubines. We both decided to commit suicide, but they were always on guard, and we had no chance until you suddenly rushed in. I saw their blades falling on you, and I felt... I felt..."
Half-reclining in Hong Lian's embrace, Wendy's tears blurred her vision as she softly murmured like a dreamer. Her hands wrapped around Hong Lian, her expression filled with sorrow that was heart-wrenching.
"With me here, no one can hurt you." Hong Lian's gaze softened as he gently brushed a strand of blue hair from Wendy's forehead. His movements were tender, and the coldness in his tone seemed to melt away. He was Hong Lian, yet also Bu; despite his fierce aura, he always reserved a place in his heart for the one he loved.
"When we return this time, I will work hard to study magic. I want to become strong like you so that I can protect you, Brent. I want to be with you for a lifetime." Wendy suddenly lifted her head, her beautiful blue eyes shining with determination and persistence.
"Mm." A hint of a smile appeared at the corner of Hong Lian's eye. This smile graced his usually cold face like the melting of an immense iceberg, radiating a glory that left Wendy somewhat entranced.
The sound of footsteps interrupted their rare moment of intimacy. Daisy approached them and knelt on one knee. As her graceful figure bent, it accentuated the curve of her hips, exuding an indescribable allure.
"Servant Daisy greets my master and Lord Brent."
Her voice was clear and melodious like pure spring water. Daisy gently lifted the black veil that concealed her face, revealing a bright and charming visage. As she raised her head to look at Wendy, her gaze lingered on Hong Lian for a moment longer, hiding a glimmer of light in her eyes.
Hong Lian's expression remained indifferent as he assessed the woman before him. He was well aware of Daisy's intentions and couldn't help but shake his head inwardly.
"This woman is cunning and loves to play tricks. After we return, we must impose some restrictions on her; otherwise, she will surely become a future threat. The few bandits I killed before were all manipulated by this woman except for Fourth; the first and second were completely unaware they were being played by her. As for anyone who leaks information or reports us... well, they won't have a good ending."
"Lord Brent can rest assured; Daisy is now one of you and part of the same camp. She naturally won't do anything harmful to herself or others. Moreover, with Lord Brent's strength, there is no need to fear Kaibo."
Daisy was also perceptive; seeing Hong Lian speak this way prompted her to express agreement immediately while flattering him subtly. Her bright eyes sparkled as she smiled sweetly at Hong Lian.

A smile appeared on Brent's lips as he whispered back, "Wendy and Amy have been rescued by me; Kathy and the others are dead at my hands. You and Elena should wait for us at the valley entrance of Black Abyss Ravine."
"You killed Kathy? Brent, I heard from Elena that Kathy has an older brother at the academy who is a third-generation Golden Mystic Student named Kaibo."
"I already know about this; let's talk later. We're coming out now, so you don't need to enter Black Abyss Ravine." After finishing his last sentence, Brent put away the Transmitter while Hong Lian escorted the three women along the mountain path toward the valley entrance of Black Abyss Ravine.
Although Wendy had become a low-level Level 1 Mage under Sean Sterling's guidance, this improvement in strength was not significantly greater than that of an ordinary person. She followed closely beside Hong Lian throughout their journey, relying on her for support. In contrast to Wendy, Amy and Daisy did not require Hong Lian's assistance, allowing their group to maintain a decent pace.

Hong Lian preferred silence; although she was born from Brent's consciousness, she developed a distinct personality—cold as an ice mountain at times but showing softness only when interacting with Wendy.
For Wendy, being held by the one she loves brings warmth that symbolizes happiness and absolute security. Even in silence, this warmth conveys a sweetness that outsiders find hard to understand; even without words, it surpasses countless sweet expressions.
In this atmosphere of silence, as Daisy's apprehension grew stronger in her heart, the fog ahead began to thin. They could clearly see the valley entrance where two indistinct figures stood like characters from a painting—unmistakably unreal yet captivating.
"Brother Brent" noticed the two indistinct figures, and Amy's expression changed slightly as she spoke softly, her steps slowing down a bit.
"It's fine, it's Reynold," Hong Lian said calmly, clearly aware of Amy's concerns.
Feeling relieved, Amy's steps became light again. She had experienced a lot and had a deeper sense of vigilance than a common person, especially after learning about Kathy's brother's identity. This made her particularly attentive to the matter, reflecting her caution beneath her strong exterior—a lesson learned from today's events.
As they gradually approached, the distance between them closed, allowing them to see the smile blooming on Reynold's face. However, while Reynold smiled, there was a hint of gloom on Elena's beautiful cheeks.
"It's good that you returned safely, but how did you end up like this?" Reynold observed Hong Lian, surprised by her sudden change in demeanor and her blood-red hair. Yet this surprise turned back into a smile when he saw Wendy being led by Hong Lian and Amy following behind.
Though he appeared calm at the time of their capture, he was equally anxious inside. Now seeing the two women return safely brought him joy.
"Who is this young lady?" His gaze fell on Daisy, and Reynold felt a spark of interest. At that moment, Daisy also smiled warmly at him, her smile bright like a spring breeze.
This smile might charm an ordinary man, but for someone like Reynold, who was obsessed with martial arts, it couldn't stir his heartstrings. The initial feeling of amazement was merely an appreciation from a normal man seeing a beautiful woman.
"This is Daisy, a servant just accepted by Sister Wendy," Daisy said gracefully, her voice cool and pleasant. Accompanied by her smile and the sudden glimpse of white at her chest, she exuded an enchanting charm.
