Teased by Bu Yifan, Amy couldn't help but feel a bit flustered, standing on her tiptoes shyly, and momentarily recovering from her earlier sadness.
"Master, after last night's training, I feel that I am close to a breakthrough. If I persist a bit longer, I might be able to reach Low-Level soon. At that time, when I accompany you to Dysia Kingdom, I won't be too much of a burden."
Seeing that Amy got along well with Bu, she even directly acknowledged him as her older brother, which made Locke very happy, unable to suppress a laugh.
"Mm." Bu nodded, looking at Locke and Amy. With a sly smile, he said, "Locke, you know that I will be setting off with Senior Sean today to return to Aldra Family and bring back Wendy. How about this: since you are also on the verge of a breakthrough, stay in the capital to accompany Amy. After I resolve things over there, I'll come find you."
"Master, this..." Locke hesitated a bit.
"Don't worry, just do as I say. It won't take long," Bu waved his hand and shot a rather ambiguous glance at Locke and Amy. Then he exchanged a knowing smile with Ivan, both seeing a hint of mischief in each other's eyes.
"Amy wishes Brother Brent a smooth journey and success in returning." Perhaps sensing Bu's meaningful gaze, Amy's cheeks flushed with two shades of red. She glanced at the dazed Locke and shyly offered her congratulations.
"Uh, haha, thank you for your kind words, Amy." Bu raised an eyebrow and laughed heartily. As he waved his hand again, two items flew out from his Storage Bracelet and landed in Locke's and Ivan's hands.
One was a red soft armor with a subtle sheen; the other was a strangely curved short sword resembling a snake. These two items were the Exquisite-level Amplification Equipment obtained from Dead Ghost Gaia.
The Amplification Equipment that Locke and Ivan were currently wearing was so poor that it was almost unbearable for Bu to look at. As their master, it was truly embarrassing for him. In the past, when he had no means to improve their gear, he had to endure it; but now that he had the resources, he certainly wouldn't hold back and was determined to equip both of his fellows properly.
Locke and Ivan were initially taken aback by Bu's actions but quickly began examining the items in their hands without any hesitation. Clearly, they had no intention of being modest about their master's gifts.
"These are Excellence Level Amplification Equipment. You should thank the Dead Man heir of the Arthur Royal Family for these gifts. I've checked; both pieces have good attributes, especially this short sword—it suits you quite well, Ivan."
Bu Wei smiled as he turned his gaze toward Ivan. Seeing him skillfully handling the short sword with great fondness made Bu shake his head and say, "Alright, it's getting late. Ivan, come with me to Senior Sean's place; we will follow him through the Spatial Teleportation Array back to Aldra Family."
After saying this, Bu turned back to Locke and instructed him: "You stay here with Amy in the castle and focus on your training. Don't go anywhere. After all, I've offended many people in this capital city; while they may not dare to confront me openly, targeting you would undoubtedly make me exhausted and cautious."
"Master can rest assured; I know how to handle it," Locke replied seriously with a firm nod.
Bu smiled in satisfaction, patted Locke on the shoulder, nodded at Amy, then walked straight out of the room with Ivan following closely behind. Ivan even turned back with a cheeky grin towards Locke and Amy before bursting into laughter that made Amy's face turn beet red while Locke remained blissfully unaware.
When Bu and Ivan arrived at Sean Sterling's room, Sean wasted no time and waved his hand to announce their departure. The three of them hurriedly left the castle.
They hopped onto a carriage that sped along the road outside the inner city until they stopped near North Gate of the capital. The coachman happily accepted his reward from Ivan before leaving. At this moment, Sean Sterling raised his wand high as a green beam of light shot into the sky.
"Are you summoning the Green Dome?" Ivan looked at Sean Sterling's actions, feeling somewhat confused, while Bu Shuang thoughtfully gazed into the quiet space, waiting.
"As long as someone possesses Intermediate strength, they can obtain a Contract Beast through signing a contract. However, finding a powerful beast that meets the contract conditions is quite difficult. Brent, if you wish to acquire a Contract Beast in the future, remember to choose wisely; it's best to select one with great potential for growth and not to be tempted by immediate gains.
Aside from certain individuals who have mastered special techniques, an average person can only sign one contract in their lifetime and thus can only obtain one Contract Beast. You should understand the implications of this."
A black dot appeared in the distance, accompanied by a series of strange "chirps." As Sean Sterling watched the shadow slowly grow larger and take on the form of a green cloud, he smiled and began to speak to Bu Shuang.
"Is it true that an average person can only sign one Contract Beast in their lifetime?" Bu Shuang's eyes lit up as she suddenly thought of something and asked Sean Sterling, "Senior, I've always been puzzled about why every time you summon the Green Dome, it always appears nearby immediately. Is it because Contract Beasts cannot stray too far from their masters?"
"Hehe," Sean Sterling shook his head lightly with a smile, glancing at Bu Shuang as he explained, "Contract Beasts are originally magical beasts. After signing a contract with a human, they are absorbed into another spatial dimension by a special force and completely disappear from the Fran Continent. They can only reappear within a kilometer of their master when summoned."
"Another spatial dimension?" Bu Shuang's expression grew more perplexed.
"That is a vast world that exists solely for Contract Beasts," Sean Sterling noticed her confusion and added, "All successfully contracted Contract Beasts are transported to that space. There, there is also killing and power struggles. If someone is unfortunate enough to have just contracted a new Contract Beast, they might end up dying in that space at the hands of other Contract Beasts and become food."
"This is the first time I've heard of this. Uh, hahahaha," listening to Sean Sterling's explanation made Ivan want to share his thoughts, but after receiving a cold glance from Sean Sterling, he quickly swallowed his words and forced out a laugh.
"Chirp chirp."
A gust of wind suddenly swept across the ground, stirring up dust as the Green Dome's robust figure descended from the sky. A fierce aura spread outwards, causing Ivan's face to turn pale with fear under the pressure of this Intermediate Level 4 beast; he nearly collapsed onto the ground.
Although he had reached Quasi-Mid-Level status, perhaps due to his personality, he lacked the solid mentality of a strong individual; in this regard, even Locke surpassed him significantly.
"Green Dome, long time no see." As Bu Wei approached and smiled at the Green Dome rubbing its large head affectionately against Sean Sterling's body, she reached out to pat its strong wings.
"Chirp!" The Green Dome suddenly turned its head and let out a call directed at Bu Shuang, its bulbous eyes glaring at her as if saying they were not familiar and she shouldn't touch it.
"Everyone get on; let's not waste any more time. We need to set off quickly," Sean Sterling urged as he patted the Green Dome's body and then leaped onto its back.
"Get on." Bu Shuang rolled her eyes at Ivan, who was forcing a smile. Once he cautiously climbed onto the Green Dome's back, she followed suit.
"Wind Wall, coalesce."
With a low shout from Sean Sterling, an Azure Barrier enveloped the three of them as the Green Dome took off into the sky with powerful leaps of its claws like an arrow shooting towards the heavens.
With the wind at his command, Wind Magic was unleashed by Sean Sterling, allowing him to manipulate the powerful gusts outside the Azure Barrier, which could not penetrate even a fraction. Instead, as the winds swept in, they merged into the light shield like rivers flowing into the sea, forming a cycle that reinforced the barrier.
The sea of clouds rolled beneath them, revealing a myriad of colorful scenes. The Green Dome flew at incredible speed, racing toward the location of the Spatial Teleportation Array under Sean Sterling's guidance.
Sitting cross-legged, he appeared as calm as an ancient well, his eyes unusually bright. Those who had not seen him for three days would surely look at him with new respect. He was eager to see what awaited him upon his return to the Aldra Family.
With Sean Sterling by his side and a royal decree from Habea III, he looked forward to witnessing Warren's ugly yet helpless expression when the time came.
Once forced to bow his head, he now held it high. The Aldra Family could no longer make him retreat even a fraction.
Hundreds of feet in the air, the long winds howled, and the clouds swirled like dancing dragons. As the Green Dome flew on, a dazzling silver light gradually emerged in the distance.
Looking once more at this strange Spatial Teleportation Array, he felt calm; gone was the sense of disbelief he had experienced upon first seeing it. Instead, Ivan's expression mirrored that of Kalandor back then—if not more exaggerated—his mouth agape as if it could fit an egg.
The Silver Rune, no larger than a baby's fist, flickered uncertainly. It exuded a terrifying pressure that spread in all directions like a sleeping dragon. Just one glance sent shivers deep within one's soul.
This was the mystery belonging to the supreme laws of space. Ordinary people could hardly comprehend it; even a single glance would leave them shaken. Only those who had stepped into legendary realms could grasp even a fragment of its profound meaning.
