With a swift motion, Bu's figure darted forward, kicking up dust in his wake. Before the dust could settle on his clothes, he had already appeared dozens of feet away.
"Everyone run! The Tough Guy is coming!"
A participant located near the Alchemical Puppet shouted to the dozen or so people beside him as he spotted Bu rushing toward them.
"Tough Guy" was a nickname given to Bu by the first batch of participants he had severely beaten. Over time, as more participants fell victim to Bu, this nickname became widely recognized among all.
For many participants, the term "Tough Guy" was a bloody scar in their hearts; whenever it was mentioned, it was often accompanied by a mix of anger, fear, and frustration.
"Why run? There are so many of us; why should we be afraid of him? If he dares to make a move, the Tough Guy will end up like a dog."
One tall participant among the group shouted defiantly, seemingly looking down on the one who had warned them.
"You don't want to run? Fine, you stay here and fight him." The one who had shouted disdainfully glanced at the tall participant before activating his skills and fleeing.
Seeing this, the others followed suit without hesitation and began to escape.
"Hey, wait for me! Let's go together! I was just laughing!"
Realizing that everyone had fled in an instant, the tall participant panicked. Leaving him alone here would be asking for trouble. He quickly rolled up his pants and sprinted after them.
"Serves you right for showing off," the others running ahead sneered at him.
Before Bu even got close, the area around the Alchemical Puppet was already in disarray. All the participants had taken off running, with not a single one daring to stay behind and face him.
In a moment, Bu's figure approached swiftly. He looked regretfully at the fleeing figures ahead; their bobbing backsides seemed quite plump—what a waste of experience.
Bu was eager for this group of people to make a move against him; that would be delightful, as it would be an opportunity to do a good deed and gain some Experience. However, these people were too wicked, not a single good person among them.
The Alchemical Puppet, a Low-Level Fellow, stood alone in place. As soon as Bu approached, this metallic lump went berserk, swinging an axe directly at Bu's face.
With only about ten minutes left in the Qualification Challenge, Bu had no time to play along with this iron lump. He needed to gain more Experience.
He moved like a fluttering butterfly, dodging the Alchemical Puppet's axe swing and closing in on its body.
Bu Shuang's hands suddenly swept through the air and returned to his chest. The surrounding air rapidly rippled and contracted, forming a powerful airflow.
Furious Cloud Palm was his strongest strike at this stage. Bu had been gathering power for a long time, and the air around him rippled in waves just as the Alchemical Puppet prepared to swing its axe again.
Bu shouted loudly, his palms emitting Dark Radiance as he thrust them forward. The airflow created by the contraction of the surrounding air exploded with a deafening sound, and the violent current followed his palms to strike the Alchemical Puppet's chest.
It was as if a mountain had collapsed.
With a tremendous crash, the massive and heavy body of the Alchemical Puppet was sent flying into the air by Bu's palm. After tracing a parabolic arc, it fell back down with a Thunderous sound, crashing into the ground and creating a Crater. Sand and stones flew everywhere, metal fragments scattered explosively, and dust filled the air.
"My goodness, is he a humanoid beast? How can he possess such immense strength?" An elder in the audience exclaimed in astonishment at this incredible scene.
"Brent is truly powerful; even Reynold probably couldn't achieve such a feat of sending an Alchemical Puppet flying with just his physical strength," another young man remarked in admiration.
"There will definitely be a battle between them; it's something to look forward to," someone else chimed in.
A ringing sound echoed.
Bu received a System Notification Sound, and 10 points of Experience were added to his total. This Low-Level Alchemical Puppet had been defeated by him.
It was simply unbelievable! Even Reynold would need to exert considerable effort to deal with a Low-Level Alchemical Puppet. Yet Bu, with a single strike from both palms, turned this Alchemical Puppet into scrap metal.
This was largely due to the buildup of power he had just executed. With his impressive strength value of 9 points, even a normal attack would be hard to withstand. Coupled with the 30% Amplification effect of Furious Cloud Palm, his attack power reached a terrifying level.
Just moments ago, Bu had gathered his strength and then struck suddenly, like a lion ambushing its prey or a tiger descending from the mountain, moving like lightning and striking like thunder. He unleashed a force and confidence that made this single move the pinnacle of his energy and spirit in perfect condition.
With one strike, he crushed everything in his path!
He walked slowly to the Crater, where the body of the Alchemical Puppet lay horizontally in the pit, emitting white smoke. The metal armor on its body was already twisted and shattered, and even the Energy Core in its chest had been reduced to glass shards.
Bu jumped onto the Alchemical Puppet and picked up the Alchemical Ropes tied around its head, putting them on his wrist.
After silently estimating the time, he realized he still had about six or seven minutes left, enough for him to defeat another Alchemical Puppet.
Bu Xun looked around and was surprised to find that there were only a few Alchemical Puppets left from the dozen or so that had been present just moments ago.
The remaining few Alchemical Puppets were surrounded by dozens of people and seemed close to being defeated as well.
With a helpless shrug, Bu dismissed the thought of joining in; he would just wait for the remaining five or six minutes to pass.
Looking at the thirty-six Alchemical Ropes tied around his wrist, he felt confident that winning was completely within reach.
Time passed quickly, and the second round of the Qualification Challenge was about to conclude.
Just as the hour struck, Sean Sterling's figure appeared above the Gladiatorial Arena.
"The time is up, the second round of the Qualification Challenge has ended."
Sean Sterling's authoritative voice echoed throughout the venue, causing all participants to stop their actions, even the last Alchemical Puppet froze in place.
At this moment, there were only about two hundred participants standing in the Gladiatorial Arena, among them several dozen contestants wearing pig heads, looking utterly miserable.
Sean Sterling glanced around at those in the arena. When his gaze landed on Bu, the corner of his eye twitched slightly, appearing quite strange, as if he wanted to laugh but was forcing himself to hold it back.
"Alright, now take out your Alchemical Ropes. I will use Mental Power to record them and determine the top three for this round." Shifting his gaze away from Bu, Sean Sterling's expression turned serious as he spoke in a deep voice.
Swish, swish.
More than two hundred participants raised their Alchemical Ropes. Sean Sterling surveyed the crowd and carefully sensed with his Mental Power. After confirming everything was correct, he announced the top three for this round.
Sean Sterling looked at Bu, and his pale, peculiar pupils made Bu Xin feel uneasy. Moments later, Sean Sterling declared, "First place: Brent. Six Alchemical Ropes."
Boom!
Before Sean Sterling could announce the second name, the audience erupted in excitement. Some shouted Bu's name while others loudly expressed their dissatisfaction. The entire spectator area surged with noise and commotion.
Warren Earl, who was watching from the stands, let out a sigh of relief after Sean Sterling announced Bu's name. His face was unable to hide his extraordinary excitement, trembling with joy.
Bu had achieved first place in the second round of the Qualification Challenge; this accomplishment was a tremendous honor for their Aldra Family.
Bu represented their Aldra Family in the Qualification Challenge; thus, their fates were intertwined—one's glory was shared by all, and one’s loss affected everyone.
Now that Bu had won first place, their Aldra Family naturally shared in the glory and would likely receive a steady stream of nobles visiting to congratulate them in the coming days.
Wendy was also cheering and jumping with joy, her beautiful face flushed with excitement, and her two adorable dimples were charming. She was internally celebrating, "Brent has won first place! Brent has won first place!"
Locke was closely watching the entire competition, finally feeling completely convinced by his exceptional master. Perhaps being a Servant to such a powerful individual was not something to be embarrassed about.
The audience outside was in awe, as Brent had obtained a total of six Alchemical Ropes, one more than the number of Alchemical Ropes Reynold had acquired.
Although this did not necessarily mean that Brent was stronger than Reynold, it at least proved that Brent's strength was formidable enough to compete with Reynold.
Reynold, the first strong contender of the younger generation in Sparta City, had held this prestigious title for a long time. Perhaps now when people mentioned it, they would also include Brent's name.
"Do you have confidence in defeating him in the upcoming matches?" An elderly man with a gaunt face spoke to Reynold, who was seated on a sofa.
Reynold remained expressionless, holding a glass of red wine that swirled lightly. Upon hearing the elder's question, he turned his head slightly to glance at him, then took a sip of wine and replied in a flat tone, "He's an interesting Fellow, but not worth worrying about; just brute force."
The elder quietly observed Reynold for a moment before slowly placing his right hand on the table and gently stroking it. He then fixed his gaze on Reynold and said firmly, "If there is no assurance, the family will send assassins to deal with him. This Qualification Challenge cannot afford any mistakes."
"No need for that. I will handle him myself." Seemingly irritated by the elder's interference in his affairs, Reynold spoke in an undeniable tone, his disdainful aura manifesting once again.
The elder frowned slightly; seeing Reynold's resolute attitude, he chose not to press further and returned to his seat.
"Alright, gentlemen and ladies, please quiet down." Sean Sterling's voice echoed throughout the Gladiatorial Arena as the murmuring crowd gradually fell silent.
As the scene began to calm down, Sean Sterling proceeded to announce the names of the next two competitors.
"Second place: Kashati. Seven Alchemical Ropes."
"Third place: Anthony. Five Alchemical Ropes."
The audience was filled with disdainful expressions, and the atmosphere was thick with jeers.
Indeed, the crowd's eyes were sharp; in this round of the Qualification Challenge, only the first place result held any real value. The second and third places were riddled with inconsistencies.
In the first round of the Qualification Challenge, both the second and third place contestants had obtained more than ten Alchemical Ropes. However, in this second round, even a Fellow who only managed to secure five Alchemical Ropes made it into the top three, which was simply ironic.
This was largely due to Bu's interference. In the second round of the Qualification Challenge, any Fellow with a bit of skill had been robbed by him. As a result, those who were initially strong gradually fell behind those with slightly weaker abilities.
Many contestants who had been robbed once learned their lesson and kept their distance from Bu, avoiding any confrontation while quietly amassing their fortunes.
For instance, Kashati, who secured second place, was the Red-Haired Woman who had wisely retreated after encountering Bu.
With her low-level abilities, as long as she avoided Bu, she could thrive anywhere she went.
Whenever Bu was around, she would always make a point to steer clear. Bu had a strong personality and preferred not to target women unless absolutely necessary. Thus, Kashati managed to dodge him multiple times and ultimately accumulated seven Alchemical Ropes, earning her second place.
