Jiang Chen's arrival took them by surprise, but it suited their intentions perfectly. There was no need to leave trouble for later; the accounts could be settled today.
"I've already given you time. I hope your backup won't let me down," Jiang Chen said with a calm smile.
"Hmph, just wait! My grandfather is on his way. You've successfully angered him, and he hasn't been out in a long time. Once he arrives, you'll have to face his wrath," Cheng Kai sneered, confident that Jiang Chen was no match for his grandfather.
"Actually, there's no need for Elder Cheng to intervene. You won't be leaving here today. This is my territory, and even if you're a dragon, you must lie down here. Kid, you're in a den of tigers and dragons now; let's see how long you can remain calm," Xiao He added with a grin.
After speaking, Xiao He clapped his hands, and the surrounding bodyguards in black quickly closed in.
"Jiang Chen, I told you not to come. They have the numbers; no matter how strong you are, you can't take them all on," Li Ruoxi whispered anxiously.
Jiang Chen glanced at the bodyguards. Although they appeared strong, they were not Martial Artists or Inner Energy practitioners. A Master of Transformation could easily take on a hundred of them.
"If these are your backup, I'm afraid they're useless," Jiang Chen replied with a smile.
"I know you're skilled—perhaps even a Master of Transformation—but you must realize what era this is. Who still relies solely on their fists?" Xiao He scoffed. With a wave of his hand, the bodyguards drew their guns and aimed them at Jiang Chen.
This sudden turn of events caused an uproar in the manor as many people rushed over to watch.
Li Ruoxi and the others turned pale, their eyes filled with terror. Faced with the dark muzzles of the guns, their legs felt weak, and they couldn't help but tremble.
"Jiang Chen, how many times have I told you not to come? You didn't listen! It's too late to regret now; they have guns—how can you possibly deal with that? Just admit your mistake and prioritize your life," Li Ruoxi urged in a low voice, panic etched on her face.
"Xiao He, let's talk this out calmly; there's no need for guns. It would be terrible if someone got hurt," Liu Sisi added nervously.
"Hmph, I'll consider letting him go if he crawls around this manor first," Xiao He sneered arrogantly.
In this day and age, having a gun meant being in charge; even martial arts experts had to yield when faced with firearms and explosives.
"Jiang Chen, just admit your fault!" Liu Sisi looked at him anxiously.
If a gun went off accidentally, Jiang Chen would be finished. The gravity of the situation made Liu Sisi and the others extremely worried.
Yet Jiang Chen remained unfazed, standing in stark contrast to Liu Sisi's frantic demeanor.
Looking at Xiao He, Jiang Chen smiled slightly and said, "I’m afraid that won’t be enough to deal with me."
Upon hearing this, Xiao He's smug expression darkened instantly. He had already drawn his gun; how could Jiang Chen act so nonchalantly?
"You really won’t cry until you see the coffin. Let’s see whether your speed is faster than my bullet," Xiao He said coldly, his face devoid of warmth. With that, he snatched the gun from one of his bodyguards and aimed it directly at Jiang Chen without hesitation before pulling the trigger.
The gunshot rang out, startling the birds from the trees in the manor.
Liu Sisi and the others, along with the onlookers, were taken aback. Just when everyone thought the bullet would hit Jiang Chen in the head, they saw him slightly tilt his head and dodge the bullet.
"Impressive, you actually managed to dodge a bullet," Xiao He said, somewhat surprised. "But if you can dodge one bullet, I don't believe you can dodge dozens."
"Everyone else, step aside. If anyone gets hurt by a stray bullet, don't blame me," Xiao He commanded, preparing to have his bodyguards open fire. In a hail of bullets, no matter how fast Jiang Chen was, he would undoubtedly die.
Liu Sisi, Li Ruoxi, and the others quickly moved aside, keeping their distance from Jiang Chen. However, Lin Bingbing remained by his side until Liu Sisi and Li Ruoxi forcibly pulled her away.
Xiao He and his bodyguards raised a dozen handguns in a semi-circle, surrounding Jiang Chen.
"Hmph, if you come out of this unscathed, I'll admit you're something special," Xiao He said darkly as he stared at Jiang Chen.
Jiang Chen stood still, his expression unchanged. A few handguns were nothing to him; however, this time he wasn't in the mood to play games with Xiao He. If Xiao He fired, it would be his own life that was at stake.
"Fire! Shoot him dead!" Xiao He shouted angrily.
A series of gunshots rang out sharply, causing the onlookers to cover their ears and turn away in horror. Liu Sisi and the others turned pale with fear, trembling uncontrollably.
"Bingbing, don’t look! This guy is as good as dead," Li Ruoxi said as she covered Lin Bingbing's eyes to shield her from seeing Jiang Chen's fate.
With so many bullets raining down, even if Jiang Chen reacted quickly enough to dodge a few, it wouldn’t matter.
Xiao He smirked coldly, convinced that this time Jiang Chen would either be dead or severely injured. But after the bullets were fired, his expression suddenly froze.
This time, Jiang Chen did not dodge; instead, he extended his right hand. An invisible force emanated from his palm, forming a barrier that stopped the bullets mid-air without letting them advance an inch.
This bizarre scene left Xiao He and his bodyguards dumbfounded.
With a flick of his hand and a push, the bullets suddenly reversed direction and flew straight back at Xiao He.
Xiao He's pupils dilated in shock; his mind went blank as he had no time to evade. The bullets turned him into a sieve.
Blood splattered as Xiao He fell to the ground, eyes wide open in disbelief.
Everything happened too suddenly and swiftly. By the time they reacted and saw Xiao He's tragic state, everyone felt a tightening in their hearts.
Lin Bingbing and Li Ruoxi were stunned into silence; especially Liu Sisi—seeing Xiao He lying on the ground with blood staining the earth was hard for her to accept since he was her boyfriend now.
"Xiao He..." Liu Sisi whispered in disbelief. She pinched herself hard; the scene before her did not fade away—it remained real.
Cheng Kai watched as Xiao He died beside him. Despite his cruel nature, he trembled with fear at that moment.
"What’s going on?" Suddenly, a voice called out from afar.
"It's Xiao Junyong!" someone exclaimed.
"This is going to be a good show. I wonder what expression Xiao Junyong will have when he sees his son being killed?" someone whispered, eager for the drama. Most of the people gathered here were Underground Bosses from the Central China Three Provinces. Although they appeared polite to Xiao Junyong on the surface, each had their own hidden agenda. With the news of Xiao He's murder, they couldn't help but wish for a front-row seat to the unfolding spectacle.
