Back in her dormitory, Su Jin'er collapsed onto her bed, the image of Chu Feifan still deeply etched in her mind. She had always thought that boys were generally strong and wouldn't encounter anything like being possessed by a ghost, but his earlier demeanor had truly frightened her. Or was it possible that Chu Feifan was just putting on an act? 0

It couldn't be; she didn't believe he would do something like that. 0

Or perhaps Chu Feifan had a unique constitution as well. Suddenly, she recalled something the master had once said to her grandmother, followed by giving her a string of prayer beads. She lifted her wrist to look at the dark brown beads, which seemed to have some writing on them, but she had never been able to understand it. She had consulted several masters, but none could decipher it. 0

Could it be that Chu Feifan was like her? 0

If that were the case, then she would have to believe in the existence of demons. 0

Heavens, her head hurt! 0

She turned over and buried her face in the pillow, trying to clear her mind. Slowly, she actually fell asleep. 0

In her dreams, she furrowed her brows tightly, seemingly lost in a nightmare. A thin layer of sweat formed on her forehead, and her mouth was slightly open as she breathed rapidly. 0

In the dream, Su Jin'er found herself standing in a desolate land surrounded by darkness so thick that she couldn't see her hand in front of her face. Yet, a strange feeling told her that she was in a graveyard. 0

A gust of cold wind blew past, making her shrink her neck. The wind felt like a small snake slithering into her collar. She hugged herself but didn't know which way to go; her heavy breathing echoed painfully in the silent night. She tried to quiet her breath as much as possible, feeling a tight knot in her heart. 0

Suddenly, a rustling sound broke through the stillness, causing her spine to stiffen and goosebumps to rise on her skin. The sound came from behind her, and she turned around stiffly. 0

Nothing was there? 0

She let out a breath, but just as she began to relax, anxiety surged back up again. Slowly, she turned back around. 0

Before her stood a woman with a pale face, staring deeply into her eyes. 0

Su Jin'er wanted to scream, but no sound came out. She looked at the woman in front of her with terror. 0

The woman was smiling at her, but what was terrifying was not the woman's smile; it was the flesh on her face that slowly expanded with her grin, pieces of it peeling away to reveal white, exposed bones underneath, along with small white worms wriggling slowly. 0

Su Jin'er wanted to step back, but her body wouldn't move. The woman's hand plunged into her hair, forcefully pulling her head closer to that horrifying face. 0

She shook her head desperately but couldn't break free from the woman's grip. The skin on the woman's face continued to peel away completely, leaving only dark hair on top of her head. Thick blood clung to the hair, emitting a nauseating stench. Some flesh that hadn't fully detached hung from her chin, causing Su Jin'er’s stomach to churn while her body remained frozen. 0

The woman's mouth slowly opened, revealing a baby’s skull inside, also devoid of flesh—only white bones and bright red blood. The baby smiled at Su Jin'er and reached out its hand as if wanting to be held by its mother. Su Jin'er’s body stiffened as she kept retreating. 0

It seemed the baby sensed Su Jin'er’s aversion; its gaze suddenly turned fierce. It glared at Su Jin'er while blood continuously flowed from its mouth. 0

Seeing that Su Jin'er still had no intention of picking it up, the baby began to struggle and crawl outward. The woman’s head rolled off her body due to the baby’s movements, and the baby’s body became the woman’s head. This bizarre and terrifying scene nearly made Su Jin'er faint. She gasped for air, but all she inhaled was the foul stench of blood. 0

The baby's body was only half-formed, protruding from the woman’s neck. Its face twisted suddenly, resembling the woman’s as the flesh began to peel away slowly. It seemed to be in pain, repeatedly trying to reattach its fallen flesh with its tiny hands. Eventually, all the flesh fell off, but it was haphazardly pieced back onto its face—its nose stuck to its forehead, its mouth pressed where its ears should be, and its eyes ended up where its mouth should have been, while its ears were glued to its neck. 0

Su Jin'er gasped for breath; she wished she could faint at that moment so she wouldn’t have to face this terrifying scene anymore. However, deep down she knew she couldn’t faint or escape; she understood that she was dreaming and that this dream must be trying to tell her something. 0

Who was that woman? Who was this child? Why were they appearing in her dream? 0

A series of questions flooded her mind. 0

Suddenly, the strange appearances of the woman and baby vanished, and Su Jin'er found herself no longer standing in that desolate graveyard. 0

This is— 0

She looked at the familiar corridor in front of her. 0

Isn't this the Old Laboratory Building? 0

Su Jin'er was currently in the corridor on the third floor of the Old Laboratory Building, which was still a very clean corridor, without any clutter. 0

"Ah—" 0

A woman's piercing scream made Su Jin'er's heart tighten instantly. 0

The cry was tragic and sorrowful. 0

Then, she heard a commotion nearby, very close to her. 0

"Please, let me go! I beg you to let me go!" 0

It was a woman's pleading voice. 0

Su Jin'er's heart raced; she could imagine what that woman was going through. She hesitated about whether to go over, wondering if she could save her or if she would end up suffering alongside her. 0

Just as she was hesitating, a sound of tearing clothes reached her ears, causing Su Jin'er's heart to ache. Her feet felt as if they were glued to the ground, unable to move an inch. 0

"You will not have a good death! I curse you! You will not have a good death! Ah—" The woman suddenly screamed loudly, and then there was silence, leaving only the heavy breathing of men and their lewd laughter. 0

Tears streamed down her face again. It turned out she was such a selfish person. She had always thought she could sacrifice herself for anyone, but at this moment, when things truly happened, she hesitated. She bitterly smiled, hating her own cowardice. 0

She forgot that she was in a dream. Even if she had the courage to walk over and stop those despicable people, she wouldn't be able to save that poor woman. 0

It felt like a century had passed when footsteps finally echoed in the corridor. Su Jin'er looked up in terror and saw three men dragging a completely naked woman toward her. She widened her eyes, thinking she couldn't escape these people's clutches either. However, they walked past her as if they didn't see her. She clearly saw the woman's bloodied lower body and bruised skin. The woman seemed to see her too; she stared at Su Jin'er with wide eyes, as if blaming her for not saving her. Su Jin'er lowered her head and whispered, "I'm sorry!" 0

The woman was dragged away, and after a long time, Su Jin'er finally came to her senses and immediately chased after them. This time, no matter what, she had to save this woman. 0

The three men were dragging the woman downstairs, continuously uttering lewd remarks. Su Jin'er quickly caught up with them, shouting for them to let her go. But they continued dragging the woman down as if they hadn't heard her. Su Jin'er tried to grab them, but to her horror, she found that her hand passed right through their bodies. 0

Had she already died? 0

Recalling how she had fallen asleep face down earlier, she stopped in surprise and looked at her hands. Then she bit down hard on the back of her hand but felt no pain. 0

She stared blankly as the woman was dragged away, feeling powerless. She crouched down in anguish, hugging her knees and crying. 0

After a while, she stood up again. This couldn't be real; it must be a dream. She ran downstairs but saw no sign of the men. Looking at the bloodstains left by the woman on the floor, she followed the trail until it disappeared by the wall on the right side of the first floor. Su Jin'er knocked on the wall and was astonished to find it was hollow. 0

So there was a basement in the Old Laboratory. 0

She began searching around the wall for a button and soon found a white protrusion. Pressing it firmly caused the wall to slide open. 0

The door opened, and Su Jin'er looked at the dark passage but hesitated to enter. She held her breath and listened carefully for any sounds inside. 0

She heard the woman's quiet sobs reaching her ears. Summoning her courage, she descended the stairs, which gradually extended downward. She had thought that going deeper would mean thinner air and darker light, but she was wrong; the air inside was fresh, and gradually the light brightened. 0

"You will not die well! Even if I die and become a Vengeful Spirit, I will haunt you day and night until each of you dies," the woman said through gritted teeth. Her words sent a chill through Su Jin'er. 0

"Ha ha, let's wait until you die to see! We really want to see what the Vengeful Spirit looks like!" one of the men said while waving a shiny knife. 0

The woman's face was directly facing Su Jin'er, while the three men had their backs turned to her. 0

Su Jin'er was shocked to realize that this woman's face was the same as the one she had seen earlier. Could it be that she had really become the Vengeful Spirit? 0

"Go ahead and kill me! I will definitely seek revenge on you all. You will all die, everyone will die, all must die." 0

Su Jin'er saw the burning rage in the woman's eyes and could imagine how much hatred she harbored. 0

"You are too naive. How could we let you die so easily?" one man said as he crouched down and placed the knife against the woman's face. "Since your face isn't that great anyway, why not just ruin it completely?" 0

As he spoke, he pressed down hard, and a streak of blood appeared on the woman's face. Accompanied by her heart-wrenching scream, the sound nearly drove Su Jin'er to the brink of collapse, yet she could only watch helplessly. 0

Soon, a piece of skin was brutally cut off from the woman's face. The bloodied woman glared at them fiercely, cursing, "You will not have a good death." 0

Su Jin'er painfully closed her eyes; she simply couldn't bear to watch any longer. 0
