Su Jin'er smiled at Chu Feifan and then walked into the room. She headed straight for the bedside table where the photo frame was placed. She had always found it strange; if these two identical rooms were created by the chairman to commemorate his wife, then what about the photo? Why was the photo of his wife's first love placed here, and how did it end up in that village? 0

She picked up the photo and examined it closely. Although the person's face was scratched out, their body remained intact. However, she suspected that this photo could not possibly be of Chu Feifan's mother's first love. Why was he lying? 0

Seeing Su Jin'er lost in thought while holding the photo, Chu Feifan approached her and took the photo from her hands, studying it intently. 0

Suddenly, his brow furrowed slightly. This person looked so familiar; it seemed he had seen him somewhere before. 0

"What's wrong? Do you recognize him?" Su Jin'er asked sensitively upon noticing Chu Feifan's frown. 0

"I feel like I've seen this person's pants somewhere," he said, deep in thought. 0

Hearing that he might know something, Su Jin'er decided not to disturb him and let him think slowly. 0

"I remember now! I saw them in a house in the village on the day I woke up. Although they were torn, the pattern was still clearly visible." 0

Chu Feifan pointed to a blue mark resembling a cloud on the lower part of his right pant leg. 0

There was indeed a cloud-like mark there, and its color was lighter than in other areas; it would be hard to notice if one didn't look closely. 0

"How could this be in the village?" 0

What kind of case was this? Why did such a thing happen at the medical school? What kind of conspiracy was hidden behind this case, and what did the killer want? 0

Although Su Jin'er was not particularly naive and had never thought about how warm this world could be, she had never imagined it could be so dirty and terrifying. 0

The more she thought about it, the more uncomfortable she felt, as if a stone was pressing down on her heart. The deeper they investigated the case, the more people became involved, and the more complicated it became. 0

She rubbed her forehead; it was true that she enjoyed reasoning, but she only liked Sherlock Holmes. She had never imagined that she would encounter such terrifying and complex matters. 0

"Jin'er, stop thinking about it. We're not police officers; it's normal if we can't solve the case. I know you want to avenge Xiaoyuan, but being anxious won't solve anything." 0

She was indeed a bit anxious, but it was also because this case was too complicated. So much time had passed, yet there was still no clue. 0

At that moment, Captain Xing, who was inspecting the wall, suddenly received a call on his phone. As he answered, his frown deepened with each word he heard, and the muscles in his face twitched slightly. 0

After hanging up, the three of them looked at him nervously, waiting for what might not be good news. 0

"They found the bodies of those people, but..." 0

"But what?" Zuo Yi asked eagerly. 0

"Their bodies were all burned. I suspect it's because they had something we needed inside them, so the Killer destroyed them." 0

Hearing this news made them feel even more despondent. The case was already bizarre enough, and now they didn't have any useful information. The only thing they could be sure of was that Li Yiqian and the others were pawns of the Killer, discarded after being used. 0

Su Jin'er closed her eyes in pain. Since entering this school, everything that had happened flashed through her mind like a movie. She carefully recalled every incident that occurred, hoping to find a flaw or some useful information within. Familiar faces appeared before her: Xu Mengguang, Zhang Yang, Zhang Junsheng, Du Xiaonan, Li Yiqian, Wu Nannan, Grandpa Liu, Liu Jing, Alang, A-Jian, Arian, and her best friend Linyuan. In less than half a year, so many people had died around her; what kind of conspiracy could lead to so many deaths? 0

Her mind was in chaos. She remembered what she and Linyuan had seen in their dormitory: she saw Zhang Junsheng's head hanging upside down from the window while Linyuan saw something different from her own vision. She believed that what she saw wasn't real but rather an illusion. But why did they both experience such illusions? 0

She knew that extreme fatigue could cause hallucinations or that mentally ill individuals might materialize their imagined scenarios into reality. This is why they are often labeled as insane by normal people. According to psychology literature, everyone has some psychological issues to varying degrees; however, having psychological problems does not equate to being mentally ill. Nevertheless, Su Jin'er could be certain that neither she nor Linyuan were mentally ill. As for psychological issues, they likely had some; however, experiencing hallucinations seemed unlikely unless under specific conditions. 0

However, the most important thing now is to find out this condition; perhaps it is also a crucial clue. 0

"Is Xiaoyuan still at the police station?" 0

She suddenly asked calmly, deliberately avoiding mentioning the body to spare her fragile heart from further pain. 0

"Yes, the cause of her death is quite obvious, so there’s no need for dissection." Captain Xing swallowed the rest of his words because he knew that if he mentioned that her body would soon be sent for cremation, she wouldn't be able to handle it. 0

"We can't find any clues here for now; let's head back to the police station!" Captain Xing said. 0

No one objected. Su Jin'er glanced at Zuo Yi. He had changed; the once cheerful and lively person was now silent, his brow furrowed tightly, and his eyes filled with sorrow. Every time Linyuan was mentioned, a faint mist would appear in his eyes. She understood his pain because she felt it too, and Chu Feifan was even more tormented. Yet he was suppressing it all because he needed to be strong—not just for himself, but for all of them. 0

After receiving everyone's agreement, they went downstairs and stood on the first floor. Su Jin'er looked up at the location of that room again. Although she knew she couldn't see anything, she still took a deep look, hoping there might be clues they had yet to uncover. 0

As they walked out of the villa, the sun had already set. The evening glow in the sky was an unusual shade of red, like blood. Looking at such a sky, a sense of foreboding surged in her heart again. Su Jin'er clutched her chest in pain; she truly hoped to avoid such feelings because every time she felt this way, something bad would happen. She disliked this sensation, but things always seemed to turn out unsatisfactorily. 0
