Captain Xing handed the documents to Su Jin'er. Although it was referred to as documents, it was just a few printed pages and a handwritten record of the inquiries at that time. Su Jin'er read through it carefully.
Dreamer, an orphan without parents, grew up in an orphanage. At the age of ten, she was adopted, but she escaped due to abuse from her adoptive parents. Later, she met Zhang Jun and Zhang Junsheng, two brothers. She was introverted and disliked speaking, often hiding alone like a frightened deer, but she was very kind to the Zhang brothers and played with them frequently. Because of them, her personality became more lively. However, since she had no name and refused to use the name given by her adoptive parents, Zhang Junsheng named her Dreamer. She also did not know her age, so she celebrated her birthday on the same day as the Zhang brothers. Thus, the three of them shared the same birthday. Unfortunately, after her sixteenth birthday, Dreamer suddenly died in a fire in a house where the Zhang brothers were searching for her.
Upon reaching this point, Su Jin'er took a deep breath, feeling that Dreamer's fate was truly tragic. Compared to her, she felt very fortunate.
The record was from Zhang Junsheng and his brother. Although Su Jin'er did not particularly like Zhang Junsheng, she did not dislike him either. However, her feelings toward Zhang Jun were different; although she had never met him, the last encounter with someone who seemed to be Zhang Jun left her with a terrible impression and thoughts about him, leading to her strong dislike for him.
The following segment is the questioning of Zhang Jun.
Officer: How did you meet Dreamer?
Zhang Jun: I met her on the street; she looked very pitiful, so my brother and I brought her home.
Officer: Did your parents object?
Zhang Jun: They did not object; they had always wanted a daughter, and Dreamer fit that role perfectly.
Officer: How did she end up dying in your house? The surrounding furniture wasn't burned; only she died in the fire?
Zhang Jun: I don't know. When I found her, she was already dead. Are you suspecting that I killed her? That's impossible! I liked her so much; how could I bear to kill her? It must have been my brother who killed her; it has to be that way.
Officer: Calm down; we are not saying you killed her. But why do you think your brother killed her?
The questioning of Zhang Jun ended here. After this point, no matter how they asked further questions, Zhang Jun chose to remain silent.
Then there was the inquiry about Zhang Junsheng.
Officer: How did you meet Dreamer?
Zhang Junsheng: I met her on the street. I felt sorry for her at the time; my brother wanted to bully her, but I stopped him, and then I secretly took her home.
Officer: Did your dad and mom and brother not oppose it?
Zhang Junsheng: At first, they didn't know. Later, my brother found out and threatened to tell mom. I begged him, and he agreed to keep it a secret with me.
Officer: How did she end up living in your house?
Zhang Junsheng: Although we wanted to hide it, I had to bring her food every day. My mom noticed my increased food intake, so she started following me. I just didn't expect that she would like Dreamer and ask me to bring her home.
Officer: How did she end up dying in your house, and why were none of the surrounding furniture or anything else burned? Only she was burned to death?
Zhang Junsheng: You find it strange too, right? I think it's strange as well. It's odd that there was no fire in our house at all.
Officer: After she came to your house, did she have any conflicts with anyone?
Zhang Junsheng: No, she never went out. She only left for meals or to use the bathroom; she never went outside. You’re not suspecting me, are you?
Officer: Until we find the Killer, everyone is a suspect, but we won't suspect people without reason.
Zhang Junsheng: Oh! You must find Killer as soon as possible. Dreamer died so tragically; I must avenge her.
The questioning ended here, and Su Jin'er returned the documents to Captain Xing, asking in confusion, "Why is there no inquiry record for Zhang Junsheng's parents?"
Jiang Jie shook his head: "I also asked when I found these documents, but no one could answer."
"This case has so many doubts; how can it be closed so hastily?" Captain Xing said discontentedly, placing the documents on a stone bench.

"Are you suggesting that the person who killed Dreamer is the same one who killed Zhang Junsheng?" Jiang Jie asked skeptically.
Su Jin'er did not answer her question but said, "I really want to know if Zhang Jun is still alive."
After a pause, she continued, " Captain Xing, I suddenly remembered something. Is there anyone who can make human skin masks?"
"Human skin masks?" Captain Xing frowned and thought for a moment before saying, "There used to be people with that skill, but it was banned later. Why are you asking about this?"
"Yesterday at that villa, I was deceived because someone impersonated Chu Feifan. The technique was so good that it was impossible to tell it was a mask just by looking at it."
"Yes, and the person who led us to the villa might also be wearing a human skin mask, not Zhang Jun," Linyuan added, completely forgetting the sadness from earlier.
"I've heard about these human skin masks in some cases, but I've never actually seen one. Could it be that I really encountered one this time?"
"By the way, where are Zhang Jun and Zhang Junsheng from? The documents don't seem to mention it!" Linyuan picked up the documents and looked through them again, still unable to find their addresses.

"I'm in that village. When I opened my eyes today, I found myself here. Seeing that you weren't beside me, I called you," Chu Feifan seemed to be running, his breathing heavy.
"Are you running?"
"Yeah. Are you at school? I'll be back soon, so don't wander off."
"Good!"
After hanging up the phone, Su Jin'er finally felt relieved, but soon her heart sank again. How could Chu Feifan have returned to that village? Wasn't it supposed to be deserted?
She looked at Captain Xing with confusion. "Captain Xing, are there still people in that village you visited last time?"
"Of course there are people. We only caught the murderer; the others are innocent."
Su Jin'er thought for a moment and said, "Chu Feifan is there right now; he doesn't even know how he ended up there."
"What?"
"This case is really giving me a headache. Let's wrap it up quickly! I'm going crazy." Linyuan sat on the side with his eyes closed, looking pained.
"Jiang Jie, call Xiao Liu and have them find out where Zhang Junsheng is from, who his parents are, and if they are still alive," Captain Xing instructed Jiang Jie.
"Yes, Captain."
Jiang Jie walked aside to make the call. Su Jin'er said, "I want to stay here and wait for Chu Feifan, then we can go find that strange villa together."
Captain Xing nodded and then walked aside to make a call.
"Xiaoyuan, was that Zuo Yi who just called you?"
Hearing Su Jin'er’s words, Linyuan's face turned pale and then flushed red in an instant as she slowly nodded.
"What did he say to you? Why did you throw your phone?"
"He’s a rogue!"
Su Jin'er looked at her in confusion as Linyuan picked up her broken phone and started crying again.
"What exactly happened?"
"Jin'er, just now he called me— it was that voice, I—I really couldn’t handle it. I’m here worrying about him to death, and he’s with another woman—"
Su Jin'er frowned. From what she knew of Zuo Yi, he was definitely not that kind of person. Could it be that something happened to Zuo Yi?
"Xiaoyuan, don’t panic. Do you really think Zuo Yi is that kind of person? He must have encountered something, and that call might not have been from him."
"Could it be that something happened to Zuo Yi?" Linyuan immediately stopped crying and asked anxiously.
