"By the way, I remember we investigated Zhang Junsheng before, right? At that time, I recall he was a student three years ago, and his name wasn't Zhang Junsheng but Zhang Jun. Did he suddenly disappear? Could it be that Zhang Jun and Zhang Junsheng are twin brothers?" Chu Feifan suddenly said. 0

"Oh! How could we forget such an important thing?" Linyuan lightly tapped her forehead. 0

"Zuo Yi, is it okay to leave your car here?" As she spoke, Su Jin'er's eyes continued to scan the crowd without pause. 0

Zuo Yi looked around and said, "This isn't a good spot; we'll get fined. There's a supermarket parking lot up ahead; I'll park there." 0

Chu Feifan glanced at the supermarket and replied, "Alright, go ahead! We'll contact each other by phone later." 0

Zuo Yi nodded and then got into the car, slowly driving toward the supermarket. There were too many people here, making it quite inconvenient to drive. Moreover, they had just spotted someone who looked exactly like Zhang Junsheng. Su Jin'er had a faint feeling that something was about to happen. 0

"I saw him over there just now," Su Jin'er pointed to a clothing store not far away and said, "He was standing at the entrance, looking up at the sky as if searching for something." 0

But what could there be in the sky? 0

Su Jin'er looked up at the sky; it was very blue and clear. She couldn't remember the last time she had seen such a beautiful sky. If it weren't for the sudden events unfolding, she would have wanted to find a quiet place to slowly appreciate the lovely sky and the white clouds. 0

"Jin'er, he's over there!" Linyuan shouted excitedly. The people around her were drawn in by her voice, turning their attention to her. However, after failing to find anything interesting, they returned to their own activities. 0

Human curiosity is indeed powerful. There was once an incident where someone stood under a large tree looking up at something. Passersby saw this and also stopped to watch. Then came the third person, fourth person, fifth person... until more and more people gathered. Eventually, someone couldn't contain their curiosity and asked the person in front what they were looking at. That person replied they didn't know either; they were just curious because so many people were watching. Finally, this question reached the first person standing there, who sheepishly admitted that sand had gotten in their eyes, and they were looking up to get it out. 0

This is essentially a joke but conveys an important lesson: curiosity can indeed kill the cat. 0

The person who looked exactly like Zhang Junsheng stood at the corner of the intersection ahead, watching them. Upon realizing they had noticed him, he gave them an eerie smile before disappearing around the corner. 0

"It seems he wants to lead us somewhere," Chu Feifan said. 0

"Let's follow him," Su Jin'er quickly ran ahead, her intuition telling her that this person might provide important clues. 0

They turned the corner and saw the man weaving through the crowd at a slow pace, maintaining a certain distance while ensuring he remained in their line of sight. 0

Su Jin'er and the others closely followed behind. The man was aware they were trailing him, so there was no need for them to hide. However, he deliberately kept just out of reach; whenever they closed the gap, he would speed up. He consistently walked to the left, seemingly confident that they would pursue him, never once looking back to check on them. 0

"He disappeared!" Linyuan exclaimed anxiously. 0

The group quickly rushed to where he had vanished and found a narrow alleyway that could only accommodate one person sideways. Calling it an alley wasn't entirely accurate; it was more like a gap between two buildings. 0

"Should we chase after him?" Linyuan asked nervously. At that moment, they felt like police chasing a thief in a movie, both anxious and excited, her voice trembling slightly. 0

"Of course we should chase him," Su Jin'er said as she looked at the narrow gap. The ground was littered with trash left by people; discarded fruits and leftover food emitted a pungent odor, while yellow sewage was everywhere. She glanced back at the clean and prosperous street outside and then at the hidden gap, noting the stark contrast between the two places—outwardly glamorous yet filthy in areas unnoticed or unseen by people. 0

"Then let's go quickly! I'm so excited right now!" Perhaps the previous incident hadn't affected her much; she felt no fear at all now. 0

"You stay here and wait for Zuo Yi. Chu Feifan and I will go first. If anything happens to us, at least you can save us," Su Jin'er insisted. 0

"I don't want to wait here for him! I want to go with you." 0

"Linyuan, this isn't a game; this is serious! I'll protect Jin'er, and Zuo Yi will protect you. It's safer with a guy around," Chu Feifan said earnestly. 0

Linyuan thought for a moment before nodding her head in agreement. She stood at the entrance of the gap, watching Su Jin'er and Chu Feifan enter one after the other. She took out her phone to call Zuo Yi and inform him of her location. 0

Su Jin'er and Chu Feifan carefully stepped over the garbage and foul-smelling sewage on the ground. Due to the narrowness of the passage, they moved slowly, the pungent odor assaulting their nostrils, making it difficult to breathe. Fortunately, the passage was not very long, and they did not spend too much time in it. They thought that once they exited, they would find themselves on another street, where they could continue searching for that person's figure. To their surprise, the end of the passage led to a luxurious villa, which astonished them. It was unexpected to find a villa in such a bustling city center. 0

"How could someone build such a beautiful villa in the city center? Who could possibly live here?" Su Jin'er murmured. 0

"I'm curious too," Chu Feifan replied, looking around. This was a three-story villa, blocked by surrounding high-rise buildings. Apart from the narrow passage, there was no other exit, making it feel as if it were imprisoned. 0

They slowly approached the villa; the large outer door was slightly ajar and swaying gently. 0

"It seems that person just went into the villa," Chu Feifan said. 0

Su Jin'er cautiously pushed open the iron gate. Inside the yard was a small garden and lawn, but due to neglect, weeds had overrun it. The flowers that might have once been cared for by the owner had long disappeared. There were traces on the ground where someone had recently walked, with some grass trampled down. 0

Chu Feifan looked at the grass on the ground and said, "It seems like no one has lived here for a long time." 0

"What did that person bring us here for?" Su Jin'er frowned. 0

They walked along a path paved with cobblestones toward the villa's entrance. The originally white door had yellowed over time, with patches of white paint peeling off. When they touched it with their fingers, flakes of yellow paint fell away. 0

"It's strange; this villa looks quite valuable. Why would the owner still be using paint like this?" 0

"This whole house feels odd. Let's go inside and take a look!" 0

Su Jin'er pushed open the door, and a cold breeze hit her face, causing her to shiver involuntarily. However, upon seeing everything inside, they were once again taken aback. The yard appeared desolate as if no one had lived there, but inside was surprisingly clean, as if the owner had just tidied up. 0

"Could there still be someone living here?" Chu Feifan said in confusion. 0

Su Jin'er stepped back two paces. If someone really lived here, it would be very rude for them to barge in now. 0

"Is anyone there?" Su Jin'er called out loudly, looking inside. 0

Her voice echoed emptily in the room, and after a long wait, no one responded. 0

"Is there really no one here?" Chu Feifan also shouted, but still no answer came. 0

"Maybe there really is no one. Let's go in!" Chu Feifan entered first. 0

He gently took Su Jin'er's hand, encouraging her to follow him. Su Jin'er was momentarily taken aback but did not pull her hand away. Her fingertips were cold, held in Chu Feifan's warm grip, giving her a sense of security. 0

The floor was covered with a red carpet, the color as striking as blood, which was startling. For some reason, from the moment she stepped through the door, she felt a sense of unease. The temperature outside wasn't too low, but the room was noticeably much colder, perhaps because sunlight couldn't reach inside, Su Jin'er thought. 0

Upon entering was an entryway with a shoe rack at the door. On it were neatly arranged two pairs of slippers, one male and one female, looking very clean. Su Jin'er paused to look at the slippers, feeling as if they had been prepared specifically for them. She stared blankly at them, unsure whether she should change into them. 0
