Chu Feifan paced around the room, feeling helpless as he looked at Su Jin'er hiding in the corner.
"Jin'er, don't be afraid. I won't hurt you, damn it!" he cursed in frustration.
"You certainly can choose not to touch her," the voice echoed again, "but then you will just watch her die!"
The voice was cold and devoid of any emotion.
"Bastard, give me the antidote!"
"You are the best antidote."
The voice vanished once more.
"Has he been watching us all along?"
"That seems to be the case!"
Su Jin'er closed her eyes; her body felt increasingly hot, and her breathing became rapid. She looked at Chu Feifan in fear.
Chu Feifan gazed back at her. Her face was flushed, her breaths quickened, and the violent rise and fall of her chest made him swallow hard. He turned away, but his racing heart betrayed him.
Just when he felt lost, Su Jin'er's delicate hand rested on his shoulder, causing his body to tremble.
Slowly turning around, he saw her dazed eyes, her cheeks blooming like flowers, and her slightly parted red lips. His heart raced violently in his chest; although they had been together for over half a year, he had never looked at her this closely before.
Su Jin'er wrapped her arms around his neck, slowly leaning closer to his lips.
Just as her lips were about to touch his, Chu Feifan suddenly realized what was happening. He hugged Su Jin'er tightly, pulling her against him.
"Jin'er, hold on for a moment. I'll find a way to save you." He lifted her and placed her on a chair.
Chu Feifan anxiously looked around. The room was small and dimly lit, and that person was definitely watching their every move, so he couldn't let them see. But where could the camera be?
He searched every corner but still couldn't find any potential cameras. Frowning, he looked at Su Jin'er sitting in the chair, wondering what she was thinking.
Chu Feifan squatted beside Su Jin'er and said, "I know you're in pain, but I can't do this. What can I do to save you?"
He had never felt so helpless or desperate before. Anger surged within him as he stood up, accidentally catching a glimpse of something flashing.
Ah! So it was here.
He lifted his foot to walk over, but Su Jin'er grabbed him. She leaned into his embrace, her bright red tongue gently licking her lips. Chu Feifan blinked, telling himself to hold on.
He avoided Su Jin'er's approaching lips and pulled her toward the flashing light.
It was in the corner behind the cross; it was nearly impossible to spot without looking closely. He forcefully yanked down the camera and threw it to the ground, stomping on it hard.
He wondered if there were more cameras elsewhere. Thinking about this, he continued searching the room. If they were outside, finding these things would be a piece of cake.
"You broke my camera?" The cold and unpleasant voice rang out again.
"Yes!" Chu Feifan didn't want to talk to him; just saying one more word made him feel sick.
After a moment of silence, the person suddenly burst into laughter: "It seems you're planning to possess her, just not wanting me to see it, right? Fine, I won't look; you two can have your fun!"
Chu Feifan remained silent, simply pulling Su Jin'er's hand out from inside his clothes.
Chu Feifan was a normal man. The moment her warm hand touched his body, he began to feel heated. Looking at Su Jin'er, he struggled to suppress his desire, but ultimately, he was captured by her suddenly pressing lips.
He held her tightly, losing his rationality.
Linyuan paced back and forth in the cell, still worried about Su Jin'er's safety. She knew very well that Su Jin'er was equally concerned for her safety.
"Linyuan, can you stop pacing in front of me? I'm getting dizzy!" Zuo Yi said, pressing his fingers against his temples.
Linyuan stopped and paused for a moment before sitting down beside him. "I'm really worried about Jin'er. Do you remember what that person said? He knows Chu Feifan likes Jin'er, so the first person he torments will definitely be her."
As she finished speaking, tears streamed down Linyuan's face.
Zuo Yi ran his fingers through his hair and said, "I don't think the first person he torments will be Jin'er."
"Why not?"
She asked eagerly, needing a reason to tell herself that Jin'er would not be harmed.
"Think about it! If he really wants to torment us and make Feifan suffer, then he should start with someone who is less important compared to Feifan!" Zuo Yi frowned and said. After saying this, he looked at Linyuan's doubtful expression and lowered his head. What a ridiculous reason; he didn't even believe it himself.
"Hey! What did Chu Feifan do to offend someone? Why do they hate him so much?"
Hearing Linyuan change the subject, he raised his head and said, "That kid Chu Feifan has always had a good temper. As long as you don't cross his bottom line, he won't get into conflicts with anyone. Plus, because of his family background, no one dares to provoke him, so I can't remember him offending anyone."
"Then it's strange. Why would this person target him?"
"Well, I once caught a thief with him, and that guy ended up serving two years in prison, but it shouldn't be him who's behind this!"
"Why shouldn't it be him?"
"If it were him, he shouldn't only hate Feifan; I was involved too."
"Maybe it's because you're not memorable enough." Linyuan covered her mouth and laughed.
"Hey! I'm so handsome; how could he not remember me? Even if it's jealousy, he should remember!" He patted his chest but ended up coughing.
"Tch, you forget the pain after the scar heals." Although she joked with him like this, she still worried about them in her heart.
Zuo Yi felt the same way. That person was so twisted; who knows what kind of methods he would use against them!
"By the way, only Li Yiqian knows about our situation here. If we don't go back, do you think she will call the police?" Linyuan turned to look at Zuo Yi and said seriously.
"That woman killed her own sister and the person she loved. Do you think she cares about anyone else's life?"
Zuo Yi's words made Linyuan, who had been holding onto hope, feel a chill run down her spine. After spending half a year with Li Yiqian, she never thought of her as a Killer who could harm her own family. Even when she heard Li Yiqian admit it, she was reluctant to believe it. However, she had to acknowledge that Zuo Yi had a point.
Zuo Yi leaned against the wall, reflecting on how he hadn't encountered anything good since starting college. Was this university a calamity in his life?
He closed his eyes, recalling everything that had happened around him, while Linyuan was doing the same.
At that moment, Gaya Ze was also sitting in his cell, thinking about what had happened after he agreed to help Chu Feifan. He was indeed a forensic doctor, but since entering the police station, he hadn't participated in any investigations aside from autopsies. He never asked about the police reporting process; he just did his job and went home. Now, suddenly being involved in a murder case and locked up was completely unexpected.
"I should have told Captain Zhao about this!" he sighed.
Images of Arian's body and the various wounds on her flashed through his mind. He had seen all kinds of corpses, including those that were mutilated or blown apart by bombs. However, this was the first time he had seen a body with multiple cuts made by someone else. The wounds were evenly distributed across her body, each one seemingly measured to be exactly one centimeter. Although it looked terrifying overall, for those twisted Killers, it might just be considered a work of art.
He initially thought they would have to put in a lot of effort to catch the Killer, but unexpectedly, the Killer had run out on their own.
He raised his wrist to check the time; it had been an hour and a half since Chu Feifan was taken away. He wondered how he was doing now.
He stood up and walked to the iron door, reaching for the lock to take a look. It turned out to be a three-ring lock. He chuckled; while this lock was harder to open than a regular one, it was simple for him—if only he had the right tools.
Inside the room, Chu Feifan looked at Su Jin'er sitting in the chair, her face flushed. She hadn't woken up yet. How was he supposed to tell her?
Su Jin'er’s eyes slightly moved under her eyelids, and then she slowly opened her eyes. She looked at the chair she was sitting on and suddenly stood up as if she remembered something.
"Have we already..."
Although she was not a conservative person, losing her first time in this situation felt too...
Chu Feifan looked at her without nodding or shaking his head, just signaling her with his eyes to remain silent.
Su Jin'er quietly sat down. Finally, that voice rang out again: "Haha! Chu Feifan, shouldn’t you be grateful to me for the fun you just had?"
"…"
"Not grateful? Well, it’s okay. I think deep down you really want to thank me!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the door was opened again by the same two people. They walked in expressionlessly, but there was something more in their gazes as they looked at them.
"Take them back! Lock them together and let the young couple spend some time together. No interruptions allowed."
