Zuo Yi and Gaya Ze were pushed to the ground, surrounded by four or five people who were kicking and punching them.
"You bastards, stop it! If you have a problem, come at me!" Chu Feifan shouted angrily.
"Oh? Is that so?" At that moment, a very thin and sharp voice rang out, clearly altered, yet they couldn't see where it was coming from.
"Who are you?" Chu Feifan asked.
Everyone stopped moving, intently listening to every word from this suddenly appearing voice.
"You don't need to know who I am; you just need to know that I really dislike you, and torturing you is my greatest pleasure." The voice laughed after finishing.
"Who exactly are you? If you want to torture someone, then torture me; let my friends go."
"No, no, no, I know you well. Torturing your friends is far more entertaining than torturing you, haha!"
"You are the mastermind behind all of this, aren't you?" While trying to negotiate with him, Chu Feifan struggled to recall anyone he had offended in the past. What had he done to make someone hate him so much and meticulously plan this grand scheme?
After thinking for a long time, he couldn't remember anyone he had wronged. He only recalled an incident when he was fifteen; he and Zuo Yi had caught a thief and fought with him. They eventually caught him and were sentenced to two years in prison. That thief should be out by now, but it couldn't be him since he hadn't met him five years ago! Who could it be?
"You don't need to think anymore; you'll never guess who I am. But I can tell you that whatever harm your friends suffer is because of you!" The owner of the voice seemed to see through Chu Feifan's thoughts.

"Then why do you hate me?"

"Brother?" Chu Feifan whispered, but wasn't he dead seven years ago? It couldn't be him!

"Shut up! I won't allow you to lay a hand on her. If you dare, come out and face me one-on-one." His words completely enraged Chu Feifan; if he truly harmed Su Jin'er, he would never forgive himself.

"Shut up!" the person who hit her growled angrily.
"I won't allow you to hit her again, or I won't let you go," Chu Feifan said, his eyes blood-red, like an enraged lion.
The person was frightened by his appearance and stood aside, not daring to speak.
"Feifan, where are they? Xiaoyuan, where are they?"
"They were taken away. I don't know where they went. I'm sorry, it's all my fault."
"It’s not your fault. Which direction are we going now?"
"Towards the Mage's House." Chu Feifan knew that Su Jin'er couldn't tell directions, so he told her it was towards the Mage's House.
The two people who were escorting them exchanged glances, and then one of the chubbier ones took out a cloth and blindfolded Chu Feifan as well.
With their eyes covered and the path difficult to navigate, they stumbled every few steps. Su Jin'er scraped her knee and bled, making walking even harder, while those people just watched, pulling them along forcefully to ensure they knew which way to go.
They were brought into a cave that was dark and damp, with a faint stench in the air. The cave was very quiet, with only the sound of their footsteps echoing, making the surroundings feel even more silent—silence that was suffocating.
After walking for about ten minutes in the cave, they finally stopped. The blindfolds and ropes were removed, and she was roughly pushed through a door, which might be the prison that person had mentioned.
Su Jin'er looked around but did not see Chu Feifan. She found it strange since she had clearly heard four pairs of footsteps earlier.
"Where have you locked up my friend?" Su Jin'er asked the two people who were about to leave.
"You don’t need to know that; just take care of yourself," the slightly chubby one said rudely before leaving.
Su Jin'er sat on the ground, looking around. It was dark inside, but there were candles lit on the surrounding walls, allowing her to see everything clearly.
She was sure this was a cave that had been modified into a square shape with an iron door installed, resembling the prison cells often depicted in historical dramas on television.
Su Jin'er smiled and said, "It seems that mysterious person has watched too many TV dramas."
She sat in the corner, hugging her knees. The weather hadn't yet turned to spring; although it wasn't as cold as winter, sitting on the ground in this dark, damp cave made her feel a bit chilly.
"I wonder how they are doing?"
They had all been blindfolded and had no idea if others had been taken away when they were led off, just like she and Chu Feifan, who had no clue when they were separated.
Zuo Yi and Linyuan were taken to another cave, identical to Su Jin'er's. Fortunately for them, they were locked up together, allowing them to look out for each other.
Linyuan stood with her arms crossed in front of the iron door, straining to see outside. She hoped to catch a glimpse of Su Jin'er and the others, but after such a long time, no one had come.
Zuo Yi sat in a corner in pain; he had been beaten badly earlier, with blood still drying at the corner of his mouth. He didn't know who had kicked him in the face, which was now swollen.
"How are you?" Linyuan approached him and looked at his face.
"Damn it! Why hit me there? How dare they hit my face? When I get out, I will make them look like pigs."
Hearing Zuo Yi still able to joke made her feel relieved. She sat down next to him. "I wonder how Jin'er is doing; her face must hurt a lot."
Zuo Yi sighed. "It seems we've been separated. All we can do is pray that Jin'er is with the others!"
Chu Feifan and Gaya Ze were locked up together as well. They sat on the ground praying that the three of them could be together, unaware of the situation of the others and that Su Jin'er was locked up alone.
"Who exactly is that person? Why can't I remember anything?" Chu Feifan rubbed his forehead.
"Don't you remember if you have any grudges with someone? Or maybe you bullied someone when you were young, and they held a grudge against you?"
"You know my temper! Who did I ever bully when I was young? It was always others bullying me."
Chu Feifan was right; it was always his brother who protected him when they were young.

"I remember that person said he wanted us to experience the suffering he once endured, which means he had been imprisoned. Ayi and I once caught a thief who was sentenced to two years in prison. I thought it was him, but if it really was, then why does he only hate me and not Ayi?"
"Do you remember what that thief looked like?"
