Su Jin'er shook her somewhat dazed head and instinctively looked around. She had never believed in demons. Ever since she became aware of the world, her grandmother had repeatedly recounted the fortune teller's words to her. Although she listened earnestly each time, she did not believe it. However, she could not make her grandmother stop believing either. Now that so many strange things were happening around her, she was starting to doubt what the fortune teller had said. If what he said was true, then she was an ominous person, and her friends would be dragged down by her.

"Yes, I'm just like you. I'm very afraid of losing you. When stories happen to others, they are just stories; but when they happen to us, it's a tragedy. I don't want us to fall into tragedy, so Xiaoyuan, let's leave this place! Go far away and don't come back."
"And you?"

Su Jin'er shook her head. "The fortune teller said that secrets of heaven cannot be revealed."
Because of such words from the fortune teller, she became even more skeptical. She felt that those mystical people always spoke nonsensically and when asked for specifics would adopt an inscrutable demeanor and say: secrets of heaven cannot be revealed.
"Could it be that the fortune teller was referring to this matter?"
Su Jin'er shook her head again; who knew?
"Look, Chu Feifan and the others are back," Linyuan said.
Chu Feifan and the others were coming towards them from the woods outside the pavilion.
As they walked in, Su Jin'er asked, "What happened?"
"Xiaonan has been temporarily detained at the station. They said they still need to investigate the situation and told us not to leave the school, as they might want to talk to us at any time," Chu Feifan said, gazing affectionately at Su Jin'er.
Su Jin'er's face flushed slightly, and then she asked Gaya Ze, "Will Xiaonan be sentenced?"
"I shared everything I know, but how the police will judge it is beyond me. They don't even have a decent forensic expert; I really don't know how they solved cases in the past. I have no good feelings about these officers," he replied.
"Did you see Officer Li Jing?" Linyuan asked.
"No, they said there's no such person in the station, and there isn't a single female officer here," Zuo Yi said, shaking his arm.
"Really? Then who is the Li Jing we know?" Linyuan expressed doubt.
"No wonder I've always found Li Jing strange! But there's something else that puzzles me even more. If Li Jing isn't part of the police station, how could she so easily access the morgue? Moreover, on the day Wu Nannan had her incident, we saw her talking to the station chief!" Su Jin'er frowned.
Linyuan nodded in agreement.
At that moment, they felt like headless flies trapped in a dark room, aimlessly bumping around and falling into an even bigger trap. The more they investigated, the more questions arose.
"We can't rush this; let's take it one step at a time. Right now, we need to sort things out," Chu Feifan said worriedly as he looked at Su Jin'er, who was tightly furrowing her brows.

"What is it?" Zuo Yi asked.
"When did you all find out about Mysterious Village?"
"It was during the break!"
"At that time, Zhang Yang was still alive, right?"
Everyone nodded.
"After you discovered the village, Killer knew we would definitely investigate the matter regarding the village. So when we entered the cave, we found Zhang Yang's body. Killer led us into investigating the cause of Zhang Yang's death. What he didn't expect was that although we found Zhang Yang's body, we decided to pursue the lead about the village. "To stop us from investigating the village," Linyuan exclaimed.

"If that's really the case, our next actions will definitely be obstructed," Zuo Yi said while leaning against a pillar, looking deep into the forest.
"No matter what obstacles we encounter, I will catch Killer. I want to see who Killer really is and what his motives are to kill so many people without hesitation," Su Jin'er's eyes were dark yet bright.
"Then let's set off! The longer we wait, the more victims there may be," Chu Feifan bent down to pick up his backpack from the ground and slung it over his shoulder before picking up Su Jin'er's backpack as well.
"Hey! Chu Feifan, that's not fair! Are you only taking Jin'er's bag? What about ours?" Zuo Yi said with a smile.
Both Chu Feifan and Su Jin'er blushed. Chu Feifan replied, "Aren't you a big man? Can't you carry your own?"
Linyuan teased, "Well, Qian Qian and I are girls too! Why don't you help us carry ours?"
Su Jin'er shot her an embarrassed glare; she blinked and stuck out her tongue.
"You all just keep talking nonsense! I'm leaving first." Su Jin'er took the bag from Chu Feifan's hand and walked out of the pavilion.
They picked up their bags and followed her outside, chatting and joking as they walked. In the midst of all these terrifying events, someone had to lighten the mood, making them feel less oppressed and fearful.
Just as they exited the school gate, Zuo Yi suddenly stopped. "Hey, are you all made of iron? I'm starving here, don't you feel anything?"
Su Jin'er glanced at her watch and said, "It's already two o'clock? Let's go grab something to eat! I wonder if we can make it back tonight!"
"There are still four caves waiting for us! I think it's impossible to return now. Luckily, the weather isn't too cold anymore. Are you guys afraid of staying outdoors?" Chu Feifan said.
Linyuan raised an eyebrow and said, "Let's just treat it like a spring outing, even if this spring outing is a bit scary."
"As long as we can find out the cause of my sister's death, I wouldn't mind staying in a graveyard," Li Yiqian said.
The three boys naturally had no objections; being heroes was every boy's dream, especially when it involved being the protectors of three beautiful girls.

Chu Feifan remembered the path they had taken; now they had reached the end of the cave. However, to their surprise, they found that the entrance ahead was blocked. Many stones were piled at the entrance, not even a fly could get through.
"How could this happen?" Chu Feifan stared incredulously at the suddenly appeared stones.
"This only confirms our suspicions; that village definitely has problems," Su Jin'er said as she touched the stones. The stones still had wet dirt on them and felt slick to the touch.
"Are we supposed to climb back up?" Zuo Yi kicked one of the stones and then hugged his foot, howling in pain.
"Unless there is another passage here," Gaya Ze said.
Another passage?
"No, Chu Feifan, I remember we encountered five openings at that time. Killer definitely wouldn't know which passage we were going to enter, so how could he have smoothly led us to Zhang Yang's corpse? Also, these caves are quite similar; why did Du Xiaonan feel a sense of familiarity as soon as we entered this passage? This is too unbelievable."
"Are you saying Du Xiaonan is lying?" Chu Feifan asked.
"No, I still don't know."
"If we had chosen a different cave back then, one of the other four, or if we had directly chosen the passage to the village, what would Killer have done? Would he have just appeared in the cave and killed us? Or if we chose another cave, what method would Killer use to make us encounter Zhang Yang's corpse?" Chu Feifan leaned against the rock and said.
"Perhaps there really are other exits here, and they connect directly to other caves," Zuo Yi said.
