The night fell quickly, with a pitch-black sky devoid of stars. At some point, a layer of white mist began to float in the air. It was already eight o'clock, but Li Yiqian and Du Xiaonan had not returned. No one answered when I called their phones. What if something happened to them? 0

"Didn't they tell you where they were going to investigate?" Su Jin'er asked worriedly. 0

"They only said they were going to the city, but they didn't specify where," Linyuan replied, feeling somewhat frustrated. She had clearly told them to come back early that morning and mentioned that if something came up and they couldn't return, they should at least call. So why was there no news at all now? 0

"Never mind, maybe they got caught up with something! I wonder if Chu Feifan managed to get the key," Su Jin'er murmured, feeling inexplicably sad. 0

"According to Zuo Yi, he should be able to get it. It's those two girls I'm worried about!" Linyuan said while playing with her fingers. 0

Su Jin'er closed her eyes. She really didn't expect to encounter such a situation right after arriving at this school. Would Dad and Mom make her transfer if they knew about her situation? Maybe they would! But now she found herself oddly curious about the matter, even though she knew her curiosity could put her in danger. Yet, she couldn't convince herself to ignore it. 0

Su Jin'er walked to the balcony and looked down, saying, "Let's go! We should head downstairs. They might be waiting for us." 0

It was already late autumn, and the evening temperature was noticeably lower than during the day. When speaking, large puffs of white mist escaped from their mouths before dissipating into the air. 0

They stepped out of the dormitory, and the white mist outside had thickened even more. They could see no more than three meters ahead, and even their flashlight could only illuminate five meters. Despite this, it did not deter the couples in the school who were whispering sweet nothings to each other; every few steps revealed pairs embracing and murmuring together. This was why they chose not to meet in the pavilion. 0

"Jin'er, Linyuan, we're over here!" Zuo Yi waved his hand to call them. 0

Su Jin'er frowned. She had initially thought that Zuo Yi and Chu Feifan were quiet boys, but now she realized she was mistaken. Zuo Yi had a very handsome face but was quite outgoing, and countless girls in school were smitten by his charming appearance. 0

"Did you get the key?" Su Jin'er asked. 0

"I got it," Chu Feifan replied. 0

Chu Feifan is indeed a person who is "consistent inside and out." 0

"Ah! You have no idea how much effort our Chu the Young Master put into getting the key; he almost sold himself out," Zuo Yi said with a sly smile. 0

"Sold himself out? What did she make you do?" Su Jin'er asked. 0

"Don't listen to Zuo Yi's nonsense; that's not true." He shot a fierce glare at Zuo Yi. 0

Zuo Yi stuck out his tongue and fell silent. 0

"Let's go! It's almost nine o'clock in fifteen minutes. Are we going now or later?" Chu Feifan asked. 0

Su Jin'er looked around and suddenly noticed that the place, which had been filled with couples just moments ago, was now deserted, creating an eerie atmosphere. 0

"Why is there no one here?" Linyuan said, looking around fearfully. 0

"Maybe it's because the temperature suddenly dropped!" Zuo Yi said, pulling at his clothes and pouting. 0

"Forget it, since there's no one here, let's go! To the information room; I want to find the answer as soon as possible." The strange feeling around her was unsettling, and she really wanted to turn back to the dormitory and forget about all this chaos. A sense of fear crept into her heart. 0

She took a deep breath and headed toward the student council. Perhaps because the school places great importance on the student council, they built a two-story building specifically for its members. Their meeting room was on the first floor, while the student council Chairman had an independent "office." Other offices were allocated to various clubs, and the student council's information room was located in the last room on the left side of the second floor. They quietly made their way up to the second floor. 0

"This room looks no different from the others, but actually, there's another door inside!" Chu Feifan said as he slowly unlocked it. 0

"Is there really such important information inside? Why two doors?" Linyuan asked in confusion. 0

"Yes, it contains data from the founding of the school to the present, so it's certainly very valuable," Chu Feifan explained. "Once we go in, we should split up to find the information we need. Be careful not to make loud noises, or we might get discovered." 0

"Got it!" 0

After passing through the first door, they indeed saw the second door, which was even more secure than the first. 0

"I just don't understand. It's just some documents; why hide them so tightly? Is anyone really going to steal this useless information?" Linyuan questioned. 0

"Alright, let's focus on our task!" 0

The data room was pitch black, and with no moonlight outside, it was dark inside as well. They didn't dare turn on the lights. 0

"Let's split up to search! It will be faster that way," Su Jin'er suggested as she quietly shone her flashlight around. Inside were three rows of bookshelves and a glass cabinet divided into small compartments, neatly filled with documents. 0

Su Jin'er chose the last row of bookshelves, and everyone began searching for useful information. In the dark room, only a few beams of light quietly illuminated their surroundings, accompanied by the sound of pages turning. 0

At some point, the temperature suddenly dropped. Su Jin'er rubbed her arms and continued to sift through the documents but found nothing useful. They were from the 81st cohort, so five years ago would be the 76th cohort's data. Even if they searched all night randomly, they might not find anything worthwhile. She rubbed her sore neck and stood up. 0

"Have you found any useful information?" she asked softly. 0

All three shook their heads. 0

“Chu Feifan, you are almost the Chairman now. Do you know where the materials for the 76th session are?” 0

Chu Feifan shook his head and said, “I’m not officially the Chairman yet, and this is my first time here, so I don’t know.” 0

“We’re like headless flies, making it really hard to find the information we need. Since this is a major event, let’s look in the place where major events are stored, and also check the year. Five years ago should be the 76th session,” Su Jin'er said as she looked at the materials in the glass cabinet. “Maybe they’re all here.” 0

Su Jin'er held up a light to read the label on the glass: “Look, it really has the year written here!” 0

Hearing her words, they all picked up their flashlights and started searching. Sure enough, on one of the glass cabinets, it was marked as the 76th session. 0

“Here it is,” Chu Feifan shouted. 0

Then everyone gathered around, carefully taking out a thick stack of materials from the cabinet. 0

“It seems a lot happened that year!” Zuo Yi said as he looked at the thick stack of documents. 0

“Let’s sit down and divide them among ourselves to look through carefully,” Su Jin'er suggested. 0

At that moment, the temperature around them seemed to drop even further. Linyuan looked around and said, “Do you all feel like the temperature has dropped a lot?” 0

“It is a bit chilly, but after all, it’s already late autumn. It’s normal for there to be a big temperature difference between day and night,” Zuo Yi replied as he rubbed his shoulders. 0

Linyuan nodded thoughtfully. Although she felt Zuo Yi was right, she sensed that this coldness seemed to come from within herself. 0

They sat down at a table, carefully examining the materials in their hands. At some point, the atmosphere around them began to feel strange. 0

Suddenly, they felt a chill running from their feet to the top of their heads, and they stiffly turned their bodies. 0

Nothing was there! 0

They looked at each other in confusion. 0

"Did you all feel that?" Linyuan asked with a trembling voice. 0

The three nodded. It couldn't be that several people were experiencing the same hallucination, could it? 0

"Why is there a smell of blood?" Su Jin'er shone her flashlight around. The last time she noticed a smell of blood, someone had died. What could it mean this time? Was someone killed again? 0

"Yeah! And the smell seems to be getting stronger." 0

"Ah—blood!" Linyuan suddenly shouted. 0

Bright red blood was slowly flowing under the door into the room, the stench so strong it made them want to vomit. 0

"I can't take it; I feel like I'm going to be sick." Linyuan covered his chest, his face pale. 0

In just an instant, blood had pooled at their feet. Su Jin'er looked down in horror and said, "Where did all this blood come from? Are we hallucinating again?" 0

Blood continued to pool more and more, and they hurriedly jumped onto the chairs, terrified as they watched the blood slowly fill the entire floor. 0

Suddenly, a rustling sound came from outside the door. 0

"What is that sound?" Chu Feifan listened carefully to the noise coming from outside. 0

"What—what is that?" Linyuan widened her eyes, staring into the dark room. 0

At that moment, the flashlight in Linyuan's hand slowly dimmed and then went out. She pounded on the flashlight and exclaimed, "Why is there no power at this time!" 0

The three of them shone their flashlights toward the door, and the rustling sound continued, resembling the sound of clothes brushing against the ground. 0

Suddenly, a hand reached out from the ground at the entrance. The hand was covered in blood, and upon closer inspection, it was evident that there was no skin on it. 0

"What is that thing?" 0

Fear made everyone's hair stand on end, and the atmosphere became oppressive, making it almost impossible to breathe. 0

Then, a head emerged. Long hair hung down to the ground, and blood flowed continuously from its mouth, dripping onto the floor. They watched as it slowly crawled into the room. Yes, that person was crawling, hands pressing against the ground, knees bent, slowly making its way inside. The group watched this bizarre scene in suffocating silence, unable to utter a sound. 0

When that "person" crawled to within two meters of them, it stopped and slowly raised its head. 0

They stared at it in astonishment with their mouths agape, but no sound came out. What a horrifying face it was—covered in blood, with two black holes for eyes, a nose crooked to one side, and its lips moving up and down as fresh blood flowed continuously from its eyes, nose, and mouth. Although it had no eyes, they still felt a chilling gaze looking at them maliciously. 0

They gasped violently, the metallic scent of blood lingering in their nostrils making their stomachs churn, yet no one dared to move an inch at the sight before them. 0

The air was so cold it felt like it could freeze a person solid. They seemed to have lost control over their bodies, their brains continuously sending out danger signals, but they remained frozen, backs stiff with pain, bodies trembling uncontrollably. 0

"Run!" Chu Feifan quickly jumped off his chair and grabbed Su Jin'er, pulling her down. 0

Hearing his voice, everyone swiftly jumped down from their chairs. Their feet sank into the blood pooling on the floor, the overwhelming stench of blood assaulting their senses, nearly causing them to faint. 0

They held each other's hands, cautiously avoiding the creature on the ground as they slowly moved toward the door. Su Jin'er could even feel the thick blood sticking to her skin, her stomach churning, but she couldn't bring herself to vomit. 0

The creature stared at them with its pitch-black eyes, yet remained in a kneeling position without any movement. They tensed their bodies and gradually inched forward. 0

Just one meter left to escape. 0

As they were about to reach the door, the creature suddenly turned its body. Four pairs of eyes fixated on it, but no one noticed when it had turned around. They stared in shock with their mouths agape. 0

When did it turn? Why hadn't they seen it? 0
