The farce at the Xue Residence ultimately ended with Steward Wang being reported to the authorities by my father, accused of theft and taken away. It is said that my father bribed the Magistrate, who then beat him to death with a stick. Aunt Luo is to be sent off to Southeast Asia today, escorted by servants. Apparently, she was beaten half to death by my father last night. She is covered in bruises and needs a maid's support to walk. 0

The next day, I sat in the pavilion of the back courtyard of the Xue Residence, drinking tea while Ji Rufeng stood guard beside me. 0

"I heard that last night when Aunt Luo was carried out from the master's room, her fingers were broken one by one by him," Ji Rufeng reported. 0

"Her face was also slashed," he added. 0

I sipped my tea and listened to Ji Rufeng's report, letting out a cold smile. "The actions of a fundamentally corrupt person always reek of that corruption." 0

"They deserve what they get; it's only right." 0

I was curious. "By the way, why is Xue Qingrou still at the Xue Family? What does my father think?" 0

Ji Rufeng replied, "The master neither fully believed Rui Zhu nor Aunt Luo. Xue Qingrou cried and pleaded with him several times, and he softened his heart, allowing her to stay in the residence." 0

"And what about Aunt Luo?" 0

"Aunt Luo? Does she have some leverage over my father?" 0

Ji Rufeng explained, "Aunt Luo has accumulated quite a bit of blackmail material on the master over the years. As long as he promises not to expel Xue Qingrou from the Xue Family, this evidence will never see the light of day, and she will never return to her home country." 0

I clicked my tongue. "It seems that my father's decision regarding Xue Qingrou is mostly for his own face." 0

"The fact that he could make this decision shows he cares about his reputation. If those black accounts were… tsk tsk tsk." 0

"I just wonder if Xue Qingrou will let this go." 0

Ji Rufeng remained silent. Not receiving an answer from him, I raised my gaze. 0

I saw Xue Qingrou standing next to my father, looking at Ji Rufeng with a smile on her face. 0
"What are you talking about?" 0
I smirked. 0
"We're talking about Aunt Luo." 0
I carefully observed Xue Qingrou's expression. 0
"After all, she is going to be sent away to Southeast Asian forever today." 0
"I wonder if she will miss home." 0
A hint of discomfort flashed across Xue Qingrou's face. 0
"Really? I don't know." 0
She pretended to be unaware, appearing quite indifferent towards Aunt Luo. 0
I laughed. 0
"By the way, Father, since my mother is going to Southeast Asian, leaving me all alone, it's quite pitiful." 0
"Can't I have a personal guard as capable as Brother Ji Rufeng?" 0
Xue Qingrou looked at my father with anticipation. 0
His expression changed slightly as he looked at me. 0
I frowned, my eyes cold as a deep pool. 0
"No." 0
Xue Qingrou's eyes turned red, looking extremely aggrieved. 0
"Sister, I just want someone who can protect me; is that too much to ask?" 0
"Why won't you even let me have a guard..." 0
She cried, tears streaming down her face like rain on pear blossoms. 0
Many people present felt pity for her. 0
My father cleared his throat and rubbed his hands before speaking. 0

" Wanning, you are just a guard," he said. 0
I stared at him coldly, my gaze growing darker. 0
"No." 0
"Ji Rufeng is mine." 0
I stood up and left the Xue Residence. 0
Ji Rufeng followed closely behind. 0
Just before I walked out the door, I heard Xue Qingrou's delicate voice. 0
"Sister, really, how can a young lady say such shameless things..." 0
My expression darkened, and I quickened my pace. 0
Once we were in a secluded area, Ji Rufeng handed me a note. 0
