Chen Haoxuan noticed that Number Two was not responding to him, and he was not foolish enough to keep asking questions. Instead, he focused seriously on dealing with Number Two.
Neither of them was an ordinary person; one was a Chief Professor from Future Century, and the other was a senior agent from the United States. Their strengths were comparable. Although Chen Haoxuan had not trained for long after arriving in the 21st century, he possessed rich combat experience. On the other hand, Number Two had been training since childhood, making his combat experience strong as well. However, his physical strength was several times greater than that of Chen Haoxuan, but his combat experience could not match that of Chen Haoxuan, who came from Future Century.
No matter how strong Number Two's body was, it could not withstand the sharp blade of Chen Haoxuan. He continuously dodged around Number Two, leaving marks on his body.
Seeing how agile Chen Haoxuan was, Number Two fired multiple shots without hitting him even once. Instead, he allowed Chen Haoxuan to get closer and leave behind a series of wounds. He decided to put away his phone and took out a dagger, preparing to confront Chen Haoxuan head-on.
Now, Chen Haoxuan felt pressured. The two engaged in a close-quarters Gunfight on the narrow rooftop, with the sound of daggers clashing echoing like metal strikes, occasionally accompanied by the thuds of flesh colliding.
Suddenly, the sound of sirens wailed as many police officers arrived at the entrance of New City University. “Everyone step aside! Do not interfere with our investigation!” shouted Ma Xiong Jian to the crowd gathered around the deceased.
The police cordoned off the area around the body. At this moment, Li De approached the deceased to examine the situation.
Ma Xiong Jian walked over to Li De with a security guard beside him. He said to Li De: “Director, this is a security guard from New City University. He was at the entrance during the incident and witnessed everything.”
Li De turned to the security guard and asked, “Can you tell me what happened?”
The security guard replied, “Director, it was like this: This afternoon when school let out, I was at the entrance managing traffic when suddenly gunshots rang out. I then saw a tall student’s head get blown apart. From what I heard, the gunfire came from several locations, indicating that multiple people were using sniper rifles to target this student.”
“Was this person some kind of big shot? Otherwise, why would they go through so much trouble to assassinate him?” asked Li De, curious.
“This student is just an ordinary person’s child. He hangs out with someone named Zhu Tian, which often leads him into fights with others,” said the security guard.
“A small-time thug student requires such a grand operation? I suspect that the assassin did not intend to kill him but rather aimed for someone next to him. Unfortunately, he got in the way and ended up being unlucky,” deduced Li De.
"By the way, I remember that when he was shot, Chen Haoxuan was right behind him," the security guard suddenly recalled the scene.
"What about Chen Haoxuan?" Li De asked nervously. Chen Haoxuan was his lucky charm; ever since he met Chen Haoxuan, he had received significant help from him. Although he was still a director, his salary had increased quite a bit. His superior told him that there were no vacant positions at the moment; otherwise, he would have been promoted long ago. Chen Haoxuan had also given him many gifts, so he genuinely hoped nothing would happen to Chen Haoxuan.
"I don't know. It was chaotic at the scene, and I estimate he ran away too," the security guard replied.
"Alright, thank you for your help," Li De said politely to the security guard.
"Bullets came from multiple corners, and with so many constructions around New City University, it’s difficult to ambush someone on the ground unless you’re on a rooftop. Yes, the person who killed the victim must be on a high building," Li De thought as he looked up at the tops of the surrounding skyscrapers.
As soon as Li De looked up, he was shocked to see two people fighting on top of a building to his right. The fighting skills made his blood boil; those two seemed like characters from a movie, incredibly skilled.
"Ma Xiong Jian, look over there! There are people fighting on that rooftop. I suspect one of them is the assassin. Quickly surround the building and evacuate the residents inside. Remember, they are all experts; you need to be careful," Li De instructed Ma Xiong Jian.
"Yes, Director," Ma Xiong Jian replied.
Ma Xiong Jian led a group of police officers towards the building where Chen Haoxuan was located. Upon arriving at the building, they first secured every stairway before starting to evacuate residents.
Some officers were responsible for evacuating residents while Ma Xiong Jian gathered most of the police at the stairway leading to the rooftop.
From their position at the stairway, they could hear the sounds of fighting from above. Suddenly, he shouted, "Charge!" and rushed out ahead.
Seeing so many police officers suddenly appear, Number Two felt frightened. He was equally matched with Chen Haoxuan, and if Chen Haoxuan had police assistance, he would undoubtedly lose. Thus, he thought about fleeing. He suddenly shouted and charged towards Chen Haoxuan, waving his dagger wildly.
Chen Haoxuan pushed off with his feet and attempted to flip over to Number Two's back. However, he did not expect that Number Two would jump directly off the rooftop.
"Don't move." Ma Xiong Jian shouted loudly at Chen Haoxuan and the others while pointing a gun at them from the rooftop.
Number Two ignored him completely and jumped down, followed by Chen Haoxuan. The building was sixteen stories high; did they really think this was the second floor? Their actions frightened Ma Xiong Jian and his team. They rushed to the edge of the rooftop and saw the two people who had just been on the small rooftop engaged in a gunfight mid-air, using the windows to prevent themselves from falling.
"What the hell! Is this even human?" Ma Xiong Jian couldn't help but curse.
"Captain, that person in the white suit seems to be Chen Haoxuan," one of the officers beside Ma Xiong Jian said.
"You two stay here and observe the enemy situation. Report to me immediately if anything happens. The rest of you come with me downstairs," Ma Xiong Jian ordered loudly.
They certainly didn't dare to jump from a sixteen-story building like Chen Haoxuan and his companion, nor could they fight in mid-air and grab onto windows to stop themselves. They felt inferior compared to such impressive skills.
At the entrance of New City University, Li De was holding a pair of binoculars, watching the situation. He recognized Chen Haoxuan through the lenses and was astonished to see him fighting with a masked man in mid-air. He never expected Chen Haoxuan to be this skilled, descending from the rooftop using only his hands without any protective gear. It was a sight he had never seen before.
"I hope nothing happens to Chen Haoxuan," Li De silently prayed.
In mid-air, Chen Haoxuan's advantages became apparent. His agility allowed him to do whatever he wanted while Number Two struggled, occasionally getting kicked away by Chen Haoxuan.
