Xu Meihao's eyes lit up. "Alright then, since it's your boyfriend's intention, I won't refuse."
On the day of the gathering, Xu Meihao specially changed into a new outfit and spent two hours on her makeup. She arrived fashionably late, looking proud. "Sorry, I'm late."
Shen Tang smiled and shook his head. "We just got here too. Xu Meihao, what do you want to eat?" He handed over the menu.
Without hesitation, Xu Meihao ordered a large number of dishes, all the most expensive ones. A flicker of disdain flashed in Shen Tang's eyes but disappeared quickly.
Xu Meihao returned the menu to Shen Tang with an innocent expression. "I've ordered, what do you all want to eat?" She had ordered more than half of the menu, while the rest of us chose a few remaining items.
While waiting for the food, Xu Meihao took out her phone and started taking pictures non-stop. "This restaurant is so upscale; even the decorations are exquisite."
"Wow, the lobster is huge, bigger than my face."
"This shrimp is so sweet; you all should try it."
As she spoke, she dragged all the plates in front of her and called over a waiter to bring the other dishes to her side.
"Don't touch anything; I haven't finished taking pictures yet!"
Zhang Li looked a bit awkward. "Xu Meihao, we haven't taken our photos yet."
"Just wait a minute," Xu Meihao said without looking up. "Why are you all in such a hurry?"
I stood up and pulled all the dishes Xu Meihao ordered in front of me. "These are all your orders; we won't eat them."
Xu Meihao's expression stiffened. "Liu Huihui, what do you mean?"
I blinked innocently. "I mean nothing; didn't you say you wanted to take pictures?"
"We'll take our pictures first, then you can take yours; it won't conflict."
Xu Meihao gritted her teeth and angrily put down her phone.
At the dining table, I and Ma Xiaoyou kept steering the conversation towards Zhang Li and her boyfriend.
"Zhang Li, how did you win over your boyfriend?"
"Yeah, yeah, tell us about it."
Zhang Li's face turned red: "I was the one who pursued him."
"Wow!" Ma Xiaoyou and I applauded, "You're so brave!"
Xu Meihao looked disdainful: "Girls should be a bit more reserved; otherwise, men won't cherish them."
"A woman who comes on too strong will eventually be kicked to the curb."
Zhang Li's face turned pale, and her eyes instantly filled with tears.
Shen Tang held her hand and softly comforted her: "No, it was me who pursued Zhang Li."
Xu Meihao snorted coldly: "Don't speak for her; I know you don't like her."
"With a rich kid like you, there are always plenty of women around."
"Even if you're still a bit intrigued by her now, you'll discard her later."
Tears streamed down Zhang Li's face.
I picked up a dessert from the side and stuffed it into Xu Meihao's mouth.
"Eat something; why do you have so much to say?"
Zhang Li and her boyfriend looked quite upset after Xu Meihao's outburst.
Especially Shen Tang, who clenched his fists tightly, a hint of gloom flashing in his eyes.
I gently tugged at his sleeve, and he finally managed to force a smile.
"Alright, let's eat; otherwise, it will get cold."
The meal was tasteless, and no one spoke much.
Only Xu Meihao was enjoying her food.
After finishing the meal, I called the waiter to prepare the bill.
Xu Meihao jumped in first: "Hold on, I'm not done taking pictures yet."
She took another half an hour before finally putting away her phone with satisfaction.
"Alright, let's settle the bill."
The waiter approached with the bill and glanced at Xu Meihao.
"Hello, ma'am, your total comes to three thousand eight hundred thirty-eight yuan."
