Jiang Chen returned to his room and washed up before going to bed.
The next day, after breakfast, Lin Bingbing arrived at Xizi Hotel to pick up Jiang Chen for their trip to Jiang City. By noon, Lin Bingbing drove with Jiang Chen to Jiang City. She was not very familiar with the underground boxing match they were attending. At a five-star hotel in Jiang City, Lin Bingbing met her three friends, all of whom were also stars and naturally stunning beauties. She introduced them one by one to Jiang Chen.
The short-haired friend was named Li Ruoxi, a singer who had gained fame in recent years with several hit songs. The beauty with long black hair smiled and introduced herself as Zhou Ailing, also an actress. The friend with wavy hair was Liu Sisi, a popular actress known for her sexy image and bold personality; she had dated quite a few boyfriends. Today was the day she had invited her friends to Jiang City.
The friendship among Lin Bingbing, Zhou Ailing, Liu Sisi, and Li Ruoxi was a refreshing change in the entertainment industry. Despite frequent gossip about conflicts among them over the years, their bond remained strong; otherwise, Lin Bingbing wouldn't have been able to gather them all together this time.
"Bingbing, you said you had something to do yesterday when we invited you to come along. Turns out you were bringing a handsome guy!" Li Ruoxi teased after the introductions. "He’s not your boyfriend, is he?"
"Don't be silly! I just mentioned that Mr. Jiang is a martial arts expert; having him here makes me feel safe!" Lin Bingbing retorted with a laugh.
"Mr. Jiang is so young and handsome; is he really a martial arts expert or just good with women?" Zhou Ailing chimed in with a laugh, her tone clearly dismissive of Jiang Chen.
"Alright now, Ruoxi and Ailing, enough of that! Since Bingbing is here, let’s go eat; Xiao He is already waiting for us," Liu Sisi said, her lips curling into a slight smile at the mention of her boyfriend Xiao He.
Having been in the entertainment industry for many years and dated numerous boyfriends, Liu Sisi found Xiao He to be the most satisfying partner yet.
"You’re amazing! I heard Xiao He is the most handsome guy in Jiang City and comes from an impressive background—his father Xiao Junyong is the Underground Boss of Jiang City," Li Ruoxi said admiringly. Among them all, Liu Sisi was known for living life freely and had no shortage of handsome boyfriends.
"Don't you know me? If he’s not handsome, I won’t even look at him! But honestly this time, I don’t want to play around anymore; if possible, I want to marry Xiao He," Liu Sisi confessed.
"Then go ahead and get married; we support you," Li Ruoxi laughed.
"I’m just a bit worried his family won’t accept me. You guys don’t know—Xiao He’s father is an Underground Leader in Central China’s Three Provinces; his background is much more formidable than it appears," Liu Sisi said quietly, her expression unusually tense.
"Wow, Sisi! It’s rare to see you nervous! If you’re worried about Xiao He’s family not accepting you, why not get pregnant first? Then even if the Xiao Family doesn’t recognize you, they’ll have no choice but to accept you," Li Ruoxi joked.
"I think it’s better to gain the Xiao Family's approval first. Sisi, you haven’t even met Xiao He’s family yet; how do you know they won’t accept you? Let’s wait until you meet them," Lin Bingbing suggested.
"That's right, I also think that getting pregnant before marriage is unreliable. Sisi, you mentioned that Xiao He's father is the Underground Leader of the Central China Three Provinces. Such a person is ruthless and we can't afford to provoke him. If he doesn't approve of you, it won't matter even if you are pregnant before marriage," Zhou Ailing added.
"Let's wait until we meet Xiao He's family before discussing this further. Come on, let's go eat," Liu Sisi nodded.
The group headed to the hotel's restaurant. Jiang Chen was only there to accompany Lin Bingbing and didn't want to get involved in her friend's matters.
In a high-end restaurant within the hotel, Xiao He was already waiting. Besides him, there was a young man who, while not as handsome as Xiao He, had sharp eyebrows and bright eyes that exuded a cold and vigorous aura.
"Sisi, you guys are here! Oh, who is this handsome guy?" Xiao He approached them and slightly frowned upon seeing Jiang Chen.
"He is Bingbing's friend," Liu Sisi introduced. There was no need to introduce her other friends; they were all big stars with well-known reputations.
"Oh, then come sit down," Xiao He smiled.
Once everyone was seated, Xiao He pointed to the stern young man beside him and introduced, "This is Cheng Kai, my good friend. He is a martial arts expert. Last time in the Siberian wilderness, he killed a brown bear with his bare hands."
Upon hearing this, Liu Sisi, Li Ruoxi, and Zhou Ailing looked at Cheng Kai with astonishment. However, Lin Bingbing wasn't surprised at all; after all, she had heard Yue Hui talk about Jiang Chen's extraordinary abilities last night, so killing a brown bear didn't seem too shocking.
"Is that true? You can kill a brown bear? Did you get hurt?" Li Ruoxi asked curiously.
"A mere brown bear? I could kill it with one punch; how could I possibly get hurt?" Cheng Kai replied nonchalantly, his expression one of pride.
Li Ruoxi and the others were left speechless and found it hard to believe, thinking that Cheng Kai was just boasting but didn't want to call him out on it.
"What's wrong? Don't you believe me?" Cheng Kai asked.
"I don't believe it," Li Ruoxi shook her head.
"Just wait; you'll believe me soon enough. I'm participating in today's underground boxing match. Once you see my strength, you'll understand that killing a brown bear or even a lion or tiger is truly effortless for me," Cheng Kai said with a faint smile.
Hearing Cheng Kai's words, Li Ruoxi and the others were starting to believe him in their hearts.
"By the way, Sisi, I heard that your three friends still don't have boyfriends?" Xiao He suddenly asked.
"Yeah, what's wrong?" Liu Sisi nodded.
"Perfect! Cheng Kai doesn't have a girlfriend either. I think we can set something up. Cheng Kai, if you had to choose among these three big stars as your girlfriend, who would you pick?" Xiao He laughed.
Cheng Kai's gaze swept across the group and landed on Lin Bingbing since she stood out the most among them, even without makeup.
"I choose Lin Bingbing," Cheng Kai said with a smile.
