Li Hong strolled out of the tower, and Yan Luo only managed to catch a glimpse of a peculiar blue Ice Flower floating about a foot off the ground in the center of the tower before the main door closed tightly.
She rolled her eyes and pointed at Li Hong, saying, "You tell me! Why is it that they all ignore me? Did you say something bad about me in front of them?"
Li Hong was both amused and exasperated. "Everyone has their own things to do; who has time to run around after you every day? Don't overthink it."
"Hmph! You definitely said something. The way they look at me is all wrong, especially Chuxuan and Chuming. They frown when they see me and avoid me!"
That's because you're too annoying, Li Hong thought to himself but couldn't bring himself to say it. Instead, he changed the subject. "Come on, let's go get some furniture for you. Are you satisfied now?"
Yan Luo's frown turned into a smile. "Now that's more like it." She jumped up, ready to hook her arm around Li Hong's, but he sidestepped, leaving her grasping at air.
"Can't even touch you?" Yan Luo shot him a sideways glance, clearly irritated.
"Well... we're just friends; there's no need for that..." Li Hong struggled to find the right words and ended up looking up at the sky.
"If we're just friends, why are you so nervous? Hmph! If I can't touch you, then I won't! What's the big deal? I'm more worried about you taking advantage of me!" Yan Luo floated up into the air and turned back to see Li Hong lagging behind. She called out, "Aren't you coming? The place I chose to live is right below. They said it's your 'Master's Residence.' Hmph, are you going to fight me for it?"
"I wouldn't dare..." Li Hong scratched his nose with a wry smile.
This was the highest level of Temple City, where all the rooms opened onto a wide circular platform connected together. Li Hong counted—there were about seventy or eighty rooms. Even if he and Yan Luo each took ten rooms, they wouldn't be able to occupy them all.
Yan Luo, however, stood with her hands on her hips and declared, "All these rooms are mine!"

"Alright," Yan Luo said, her eyes darting around. "I like to sleep in different rooms every day and see the ocean from different angles, so I want to furnish all the rooms here." She started counting on her fingers. "Each room needs a table, four stools, a bed, and a dressing table. You can start making the furniture now."
"What?!" Li Hong was furious. "You're just messing with me!"
"Are you going to do it or not?"
"I'd rather hit you!" Li Hong turned to leave.
"Fine, if you have the guts to walk away, I'll just scream and say you bullied me and abandoned me!"
Li Hong was so angry he could hardly express it, his mouth and nose flaring with rage. Just then, Chuxuan, Chuming, and Ling Yizi flew over upon hearing the commotion and caught the tail end of the phrase "abandoned me." The three exchanged knowing glances and, as if they hadn't seen Li Hong at all, turned to leave.
"Wait!" Li Hong hurried after them, whispering an explanation. "That girl is crazy! I absolutely did not do anything like that; you have to believe me!"
Chuxuan sighed and stopped, carefully choosing his words. "Of course we believe you, but no one can handle that girl. We can't just kill her, right? So good luck to you."
"Right, good luck. That girl is a real pest, a little witch. Junior Brother, just accept your fate," Ling Yizi said as Yan Luo approached, showing a hint of fear before quickly slipping away.
"Do you guys have any loyalty at all?" Li Hong was left speechless.
Yan Luo flew up to them, grinning as she watched Chuxuan and the others retreating. "Look, even your own brothers have nothing to say about you; you'd better just give in."
"Go to hell!" Li Hong was truly angry now. He suddenly turned around and shouted, "I'll send you away right now! I don't care how you spread rumors outside the Immortal Sect. Go ahead and tell the Demon Sect or Xuan Xuzi; I won't stop you! From today on, we are done!"
With that, Li Hong grabbed Yan Luo's hand and rushed toward the tower door, pushing it open.

Looking down, Yan Luo was surprised and exclaimed, "What? It's him!"
