"I can't be hearing this wrong, right? The Soul Devourer isn't down there? How is that possible!" Chu Jiang was the first to speak up. His arm had grown back, and with his hands behind his back, he stared down into the abyss with bulging eyes.
Wheel's expression was grave: "You didn't sense wrong; the Soul Devourer is indeed not down there anymore."
"How is this possible! Could that kid really have defeated the Soul Devourer and taken him away? But I sensed no trace of the Soul Devourer on him; instead, I felt that..." Official Name pondered. He couldn't comprehend what Little Fei was.
"What should we do? That kid is about to escape. He's coming our way; should we let him go?" Bian Cheng frowned and asked Wheel.
"Leave him? Let him become more skilled and always keep us under his thumb? After all these years of being his watchdog, are you all truly willing? Now is a great opportunity to let that kid take his Vital Point and walk away, wouldn't that eliminate our greatest concern! That Soul Devourer is just his personal beast; we are merely the guards. Yama said with a cold laugh, as a Black Light shot from his hand, piercing through the Underground space and flying into the Passageway.
Moments later, the Underground trembled violently, the space shaking again. After a long while, the vibrations slowly subsided.
The Ten Kings flew nonchalantly in the Abyss Above, no one paying any mind to the earlier upheaval, their eyes flickering with their own thoughts.
In a flash of light, the black object broke through the dust and smoke and flew back. Yama reached out to summon it; it was a shimmering brush about a foot long.
The brush flickered and disappeared into Yama's palm.
"Is there Blood Scent?"
"Yes."
"Then he must be dead."
"Indeed, but the Passageway has been destroyed; finding the Corpse will likely be very difficult."
"Right, but the Demon Lord will surely have a way."
"Of course, he is the Demon Lord after all."
The ten exchanged glances and laughed; their words seemed correct, yet each face bore an obvious hint of mockery.
A powerful presence drew closer, near enough to hear every movement in the Underground space.
A piercing voice echoed throughout the Underground: "Bold! Why did you kill him! He is mine!"
The Purgatory Ten Kings exchanged glances and then knelt in unison, saying, "We are here to share the burden of the Demon Lord."
"Good, good, good, you ten are indeed very united!" The voice was not angry but rather mocking, filled with extreme rage.
The Purgatory Ten Kings showed no signs of fear, remaining silent and unmoving.
The voice roared, "Yama, give me a precise location! If you can't find it, I will imprison you here for eternity!"
Yama replied calmly, "Understood."
He roughly indicated the location of the collapsed Passageway. Yama sneered inwardly; if I can't be found, you will imprison me for eternity? You've already done that! Do you think I, Yama, am afraid of this?!
A faint transmission reached his ears; it was Chuyang Wang, sounding worried. "Yama, the Demon Lord knows it was you. If we can't find that kid, the Demon Lord will surely fly into a rage. What should we do then? What will you do? Think of something quickly."
Yama's lips did not move as he transmitted back, "Don't worry. We are united as ten. If he kills me, he won't be able to use the 'Purgatory Barrier' anymore. So no matter how badly I ruin his plans, he won't kill me; at most, he'll make me suffer a bit. Compared to my torment, I prefer to see him fail! So there's no need to worry." A cold smile appeared on Yama's lips.
Chu Jiang thought this made sense and also revealed a slight cold smile.
The ten shared a connection, kneeling in the void while listening to Yandao's furious shouts. Their faces remained calm, and upon closer inspection, each had a hint of a cold smile at the corners of their lips.

Suddenly, he felt a tightness at the back of his neck, and his whole body spun bizarrely, faster and faster, until all he could see were blurred shadows zipping past. Long strands of the Strange Black Veil brushed against his eyelids as they flew by.
Li Hong trembled violently, knowing without needing to look inside that he had sustained severe internal injuries; his Golden Core had dimmed completely. But what was happening now? Why was it so fast? It seemed... Li Hong felt his mind was not keeping up; the tearing sensation from the high speed almost threatened to rip him apart. Just when he thought he would shatter into pieces, the dizziness and tearing sensation suddenly vanished. Before him were swirling golden stars as he plunged forward.
Hot blood sprayed out, splattering all over a furry green object in front of him.
It was grass. He was out! Li Hong laughed heartily; the Obelisk was in hand! Enduring that blow had been worth it!
A familiar voice rang in his ears: "I'm sorry, little brother. I intentionally let you take that hit because I needed to conserve my strength to help you escape. How is it? This Spirit Stone crafted Earth Escape Talisman works quite well, doesn't it? We are already in Lüliang. Hold on..." At this point, Du Yizi's large hand had slipped under his armpit.
