Three months later, Yun Jiuzi decided to begin refining the Cosmic Vitality Pill.
Prior to this, they had successfully refined three types of elixirs ranging from ninth to seventh grade: the Pill of Starvation, the Supplementary Spirit Pill, and the Fire Origin Pill. They even managed to refine a batch of Human-Level Foundation Pills. The color of the potion changed dramatically, suddenly bubbling like a boiling pot. Li Hong quickly closed the lid of the furnace. The Dispensing Room automatically shut down, buzzing loudly as the entire Dan Furnace began to tremble slightly.
Yun Jiuzi took the cold cloth handed to him by Yue Changzi and wiped his hands, feeling ashamed that it was unexpected for him to consume so much spiritual energy while refining these seventy-nine types of elixirs. He focused on Li Hong, who was hanging upside down from the beam.
Li Hong hooked his legs around the beam, suspended directly above the Dan Furnace, with his eyes closed in concentration. Seeing this marvelous sight, everyone smiles with red eyes.
There is great hope!
At that moment, the entire Dan Furnace suddenly shakes violently. Yue Changzi is stunned, unable to call out in time when a loud rumble echoes; a massive amount of white vapor bursts out from the furnace lid and surges into the sky. Li Hong is caught off guard and before he can shout, he is swept up into the air along with the roof.
With a loud crash, the four elders are thrown back as the temporary Alchemy Room collapses. Dust fills the air, obscuring everything.
Once the dust settles, Yun Jiuzi stands amidst the ruins, feeling frustrated with red eyes.
The first batch of Cosmic Vitality Pills has failed, and the Dan Furnace has exploded into pieces. The Four Elders, including Li Hong, are all injured; while it’s bad for the elders, it’s worse for Li Hong as his Dantian's spirit power has been completely exhausted from the backlash. Li Hong suffers the most; his entire backside is burned badly, causing him to yelp in pain as he plunges into the icy Ghost Stream water and refuses to come out for a long time.
