While everyone at Meridian Gate and the Envoy Group was in a flurry, on the other side, a thrilling conversation unfolded within Your Highness, the instigator of this assassination incident.
"Are you sure you really saw those people setting Huang Tian on fire?" Alfalfa leaned against the Phoenix Chair, casting a sidelong glance at the kneeling eunuch below, speaking in a calm tone.
The eunuch trembled; he was the unfortunate soul sent to Meridian Gate to witness the truth. Before coming to Your Highness, he had even changed into a different outfit, for otherwise, appearing before Alfalfa in such a state would surely lead to his demise.

Upon hearing this, Alfalfa nodded in apparent satisfaction. Her gaze softened as she looked at the eunuch. "That's good. Is there anything else that seems off?"
It seemed that her cautious nature compelled her to ensure there were no doubts.
The eunuch pondered for a moment and then firmly stated, "No! This servant watched from start to finish; those people were utterly convincing, as if they had lost their parents—completely reliable!"
At this statement, Alfalfa nearly burst into laughter but restrained herself in front of the eunuch. After nodding again, she waved her hand and said, "Understood. You may leave now."
Relieved, the eunuch quickly replied, "Then this servant will take my leave. Your Highness, may you be well!" With that, he hurriedly exited, moving with a speed that rivaled those fleeing from Meridian Gate. It was clear that everyone feared Alfalfa greatly.
Once the eunuch had completely disappeared, Alfalfa couldn't contain her joy any longer and laughed heartily. "I told you! A good sleep is irresistible to anyone other than Ye Feng. Guileful Shadow, it seems your investigation last night was for nothing..."
Just as she finished speaking, a shadow appeared—it was Guileful Shadow, slender as a willow branch!
Upon seeing the princess so cheerful, Guileful Shadow said nothing but merely revealed his eyes, which showed no discernible expression. However, he slightly furrowed his brow as if contemplating something amiss.
Alfalfa, being an astute woman, immediately noticed his hesitation and stopped laughing. "What’s wrong? Do you have something to say?"
Guileful Shadow paused in silence for a moment before finally speaking up. "That eunuch had an unpleasant odor; he must have changed clothes before coming here. In such an urgent situation, he still took time to change—don’t you think that’s strange, Princess?"
This was something Alfalfa had not considered; she hadn’t paid attention to an eunuch's attire, and this doubt seemed insignificant to her.

Guileful Shadow Hearing her say that, what else could be said? The silence was the only response, leaving no further discussion!
Alfalfa Slightly lowering her eyelids, she did not linger on the topic. The corners of her mouth curled up slightly, exuding a charming yet sinister aura as she murmured, "I want everyone who hinders my progress to die, regardless of who they are. As long as their death benefits my development, then they must die!"
Such words, coming from a woman, held no intimidation and even seemed quite ridiculous. Yet when spoken by Alfalfa, they became incredibly persuasive, even frightening enough to cause sleepless nights!
