"Kill!"
Ye Feng let out a roar, his killing intent overwhelming.
The members of the Demon Squad were inspired by Ye Feng, their blood boiling and fighting spirit ignited, transitioning from passive defense to active offense.
"Kill, kill, kill!"
The shouts echoed one after another, all the team members were blinded by rage!
A large number of magical beasts met a tragic end at the hands of the Demon Squad and Ye Feng, while the last ten or so isolated disciples were now stunned by the scene before them.
"Have these people gone mad?" someone muttered.
"Their cultivation is generally weaker, yet they show no fear at all!!"
The average cultivation level of the Demon Squad was only at the mid-stage of the Origin Martial Realm, which was even lower than that of these isolated disciples. However, the combat power they displayed far exceeded that of their opponents.
The exquisite coordination among the members of the Demon Squad reached its peak, and under the stimulation of their fierce fighting spirit, they quickly eliminated a portion of the magical beasts that had bypassed Ye Feng.
After an incense stick's time, the battle finally came to an end.
Almost all the isolated disciples were injured, and what they faced were merely a few low-level magical beasts that had evaded Ye Feng and the Demon Squad.
Due to fear, they made continuous mistakes; if it weren't for the Demon Squad blocking most of the pressure and quickly rallying to their side, they would have likely faced total annihilation.
The members of the Demon Squad also sustained serious injuries. If it weren't for Bai Jing's constant support, they might have lost their combat ability altogether, potentially leading to paralysis or worse.
Bai Jing played a crucial role; Leihong and Wang Qin, as the main forces of the team, were vital in this confrontation against this small Beast Tide.
"In the past, you would tremble at the sight of magical beasts, and your healing techniques would suffer greatly. Today you performed well; I didn't expect you to remain steady despite so many magical beasts without your legs turning to jelly," Leihong said. A deep wound visible to the bone marred his left arm as Bai Jing hurriedly treated him. Due to excessive consumption of Vital Energy and mental strain, sweat mixed with rainwater dripped down his face.
"Of course! You all charged in like you were on adrenaline, disregarding defense completely. One after another got injured; I barely had time to treat anyone, let alone be scared." Using wood-type Vital Energy, Bai Jing skillfully cast spells to gradually heal Leihong's wound until it was completely restored. Only then did he breathe a sigh of relief and move on to the next team member.
The team members were extremely grateful to Bai Jing because they knew that if he hadn't remained calm and consistently provided support from behind, they wouldn't have made it through to the end.
"Ah, if they were just a bit braver and could show their true abilities, we wouldn't be in such a dire situation." A round-faced team member nearly lost his arm during the battle, but fortunately, Bai Jing noticed in time, pausing his treatment of the less injured members to pull him back from the brink of disability.
"Can you really heal this kind of injury?" The Round-Faced Boy moved his arm and found that the limb, which had almost lost sensation, was now completely intact and even the broken bone had healed together.
"Your arm was on the verge of becoming useless. If I hadn't had three breaths of time tonight, or if you had pushed that arm to its limit at that moment, I wouldn't have been able to help," Bai Jing shook his head and sighed.
The Round-Faced Boy smiled sheepishly. His combat ability was not outstanding within the Demon Squad; he was positioned in the lower-middle tier. However, when it came to fighting, he often got carried away and neglected defense during attacks, which led to the severe worsening of his injury.
"You won't be able to use this arm for at least half a month. If you want to use it or practice Martial Techniques, you'll have to wait until the joint is fully healed," Bai Jing warned sternly.
"Understood, Captain Bai," the Round-Faced Boy quickly replied with a serious expression.
"Alright, go rest," Bai Jing said with a wry smile. Just as he was about to continue assisting the injured, he looked up and saw Ye Feng returning from the front.
The blood on Ye Feng had been completely evaporated by Vital Energy. Although he had consumed a lot of Vital Energy, he appeared extremely calm and chatted easily with several team members who came to greet him, as if he were a completely different person from the one who had just fought fiercely against the Beast Tide.
"This guy!" Bai Jing frowned. Without waiting for Ye Feng to refuse, he pulled him aside and carefully examined him. After confirming that there wasn't even a scratch on him, he muttered in disbelief, "Are you made of steel? How did you manage to come out unscathed after being surrounded by so many magical beasts?"
Ye Feng was taken aback by this remark and thought that Bai Jing must have lost his mind; not being injured should be considered a good thing.
Then it dawned on him that Bai Jing just wanted to prove his worth in front of him.
"Don't worry; no one will doubt your position as vice-captain. If it weren't for you, the Demon Squad would probably have suffered over half its losses by now."
Ye Feng spoke sincerely. Bai Jing intended to tease him a bit but felt himself blush under Ye Feng's intense gaze.
Fortunately, he quickly turned away and hurried towards some injured members nearby, thus avoiding giving away any clues to Ye Feng.
If Ye Feng had been observant enough to notice Bai Jing's change, he would have found it strange. However, at this moment, his mind was entirely focused on the ongoing Beast Tide in the Abyss of Ten Thousand Demons.
Leihong's injuries had healed, and he had replenished much of his depleted Vital Energy with pills. He slowly walked over to Ye Feng, glanced around at their surroundings, and said solemnly, "The scale of the Beast Tide is hard to estimate. That last wave we encountered was probably just a small fraction that split off from the main Beast Tide."
Ye Feng nodded gravely. The current situation was not optimistic; they still had a long way to go before reaching the exit, and there were dangers lurking along the way. Even if he could use Soul Thought to bypass some medium-sized Beast Tides that were beyond their capability to handle, it would still be difficult to escape from some smaller Beast Tides' encirclement.
He had already noticed that the larger Beast Tide seemed to have a specific purpose, continuously heading in the same direction, while some smaller, scattered Beast Tides had different objectives. However, most of the smaller Beast Tides were targeting areas of human activity. Whenever a strong Elemental Wave occurred, these smaller Beast Tides would rush in frantically, catching the Trial Team off guard.
Through Soul Thought, he sensed intense battles happening in several locations. The combatants were naturally the Trial Teams participating in this survival trial and the smaller Beast Tides. The outcomes varied; most teams were relatively strong, and with the Rescue Disciples directly assisting the village, they could barely manage to cope with one or two encounters.
Even with the hidden Rescue Disciples joining the Trial Teams as a significant force, many teams still faced total annihilation under the attacks of the Beast Tide. In contrast, those Rescue Disciples, thanks to the presence of Azure Sky Disc and Golden Light Token, found it relatively easy to preserve their lives.
After healing all the injured, Bai Jing immediately began collecting the inner cores of the magical beasts.
Although the magical beasts from the Abyss of Ten Thousand Demons were practically treasure troves with many parts that could be collected for points, Bai Jing had to give up on those expensive materials and only took the inner cores from the beast corpses.
Regardless of whether they were magical or demonic beasts, the value of inner cores was always the highest, and they were convenient to collect without taking up too much time.
If it weren't for Bai Jing's desperate pleas and the team's need for a certain amount of rest time, Ye Feng might have even given up on collecting inner cores.
The roars of magical beasts echoed continuously from all directions, creating a terrifying sense of being surrounded. After resting, most team members had recovered about forty to fifty percent of their Vital Energy. Ye Feng issued another command to set off.
"What a pity!" Bai Jing looked back at the ground littered with beast corpses, feeling heartbroken.
Many solitary disciples felt dissatisfied; they thought they should have had more time to rest. However, they dared not question Ye Feng in front of him and could only complain in secret since Ye Feng's earlier display of strength was truly astonishing.
The team continued forward, bypassing a patch of forest and advancing along an arc towards the exit located on the western side of the plain.
Along the way, Ye Feng and his companions encountered numerous corpses, mostly belonging to low-level magical beasts. There were also several Trial Disciples lying dead on the spot, their deaths gruesome as they had been torn apart by beasts.
Night gradually enveloped the entire Abyss of Ten Thousand Demons, yet the rain showed no signs of stopping.
Led by Ye Feng, everyone walked through the pitch-black darkness where visibility was nearly nonexistent. The atmosphere grew particularly tense as each person could hear their increasingly heavy heartbeat.
When they encountered another small Beast Tide, thanks to Ye Feng's prior warning, no one appeared overly panicked.
"Let's charge in together!" Leihong was eager to try; his lightning-based Martial Technique could play a significant role in group battles.
"The Demon Squad needs you; go back and form a formation with your teammates. Make sure not to let the Beast Tide break through," Ye Feng shook his head in refusal.
Leihong sighed. As the leader of the entire team, Ye Feng could easily send others to the front as cannon fodder, allowing them to protect him. Yet, he always charged ahead, standing at the forefront of the Beast Tide, creating an insurmountable barrier of slaughter for his teammates behind him.
"Fortunately, this Beast Tide is smaller than the previous one. With our strength, we should be able to handle it easily!"
Ye Feng smiled calmly and didn't wait for Leihong's response. He shifted his stance and rushed forward before the group of Beast Tide noticed him.
With a sudden horizontal slash, a thick wave of sword energy erupted violently!
Crack!
The ground cracked inch by inch, large trees were severed at the waist, and at the forefront of the Beast Tide, a dozen low-level magical beasts fell in unison, like autumn leaves swept away by the wind, as they charged through the beast horde.
"What powerful sword energy! I didn't expect his sword light to be so strange, and the power of his sword energy to be so strong." Since no magical beasts were paying attention to them for the moment, they watched Ye Feng's sword energy unfold before their eyes.
"He really is only at the Yuan Martial Realm Seventh Level? How is that possible? His Vital Energy is so dense that even a Peak of the Ninth Level of Yuan Martial Realm expert might not compare." A solitary disciple said with a pale face.
"Kill!" The beast horde was thrown into chaos by Ye Feng's sudden appearance, unable to organize an effective counterattack. Leihong, who initially planned to form a defensive formation, immediately changed his mind and commanded his teammates to rush towards Ye Feng as quickly as possible.
