Luzi walked out of the temple, knelt on the ground, and bowed three times in the direction of Qin State. As he stood up, he drew his long sword and slashed at his own neck. At that moment, he did not consider his own safety; instead, he knew how to break the current deadlock. If he wanted to save Li Xin and the others, he had to resort to suicide. He believed that Wei Wujie, who was involved in the plan, was merely an accomplice, and the condition for exchange was to capture a person. If that person were already dead, then naturally, he would not act against that person's subordinates. However, he would not spare anyone; instead, according to the original agreement, he would hand over all hostages to a member of the Royal Family of Qin State. If this were true, then Li Xin and the others would have a chance to survive. If they continued to resist, Wei Wujie would not care about anyone's life or death.

The cries and curses immediately woke everyone resting inside the room. Realizing something was wrong outside, they all grabbed nearby weapons and rushed out to surround Luzi for protection. Just as they gathered together, they saw a dozen Retainers armed with bows and arrows walking out from the opposite side.

No one responded; they all drew their swords and prepared to fight.
Luzi knew who had caused the earlier metal clash and raised his hand to stop those who intended to charge forward. If it weren't for an arrow deflecting the sword's edge, he believed he would have been severed in two by now.
Shen Bao raised his hand for everyone to lower their weapons, shook his bow in his hand before handing it back, then stepped forward and bowed respectfully, saying, "My lord! Hearing such a familiar phrase, Luzi was instantly stunned. This was his master's vow that ultimately became his own oath.
