The main content of the movie revolves around a young man who joins the military for the girl he loves, only to face the tragedy of her death during a mission.
In order to capture the criminal organization responsible for her death, the young man trains hard and joins the "Trump Card" special forces. Ultimately, he fulfills his desire by personally killing the leader of the criminal group.
Ji Yue watched quietly, her expression unchanged regardless of how the plot developed. However, no one knew that her thoughts had drifted far away.
It wasn't until the movie ended that Mo Ming nudged her, prompting Ji Yue to realize she had been lost in thought.
"Ah? The movie is over? I'm sorry, I didn't notice."
Ji Yue returned to reality, glancing at the screen as it faded to black before looking at the crowd heading outside. Feeling a bit embarrassed, she spoke to Mo Ming.
"It's fine," Mo Ming said with a smile, shaking his head. "Let's go."
Ji Yue nodded and followed Mo Ming out of the cinema.
"It's getting late. Do you have anything to do, Captain Ji?" Mo Ming asked, glancing at the dimming sky.
"I'm off today and don't have much to do. Why? Do you want to treat me to dinner?" Ji Yue replied while tucking her hair behind her ear.
"I just wanted to ask if you were free to grab a meal together," Mo Ming said with a smile.
"If Young Master Mo wants to treat, would I refuse?" Ji Yue responded.
"Then let's go eat. What do you want? Chinese or Western food?" Mo Ming asked.
"Chinese food sounds good. I'm not really fond of Western cuisine, but if you want it, I can accompany you. After all, it's your treat, so you get to decide," Ji Yue said with a smile.
"Then let's go for Chinese food; a lady's decision is always something no one dares to oppose."
Mo Ming and Ji Yue found a Chinese restaurant and ordered some dishes.
At the time of ordering, there were quite a few customers, and out of the large restaurant, only three tables were empty. However, the restaurant was efficient, and the food arrived quickly.
"I'm really sorry about earlier; I zoned out," Ji Yue suddenly said while eating, catching Mo Ming off guard.
So much time had passed, and Mo Ming hadn't taken it to heart; Ji Yue didn't need to be so concerned—there was no need for an apology.
"No need to apologize; zoning out is nothing. I thought you were watching intently since you were so quiet. It seems you don't really enjoy war movies," Mo Ming shook his head and said, "You didn't choose to watch war films just to accommodate me, did you? Honestly, I don't mind what movie I watch."
"It’s not to accommodate you; it’s so I can understand your past life," Ji Yue slightly shook her head and added, "Military Career."
"Actually, the content portrayed in movies doesn't really align with my Military Career. To conform to the policies of a harmonious society, many violent and bloody scenes are left out. In reality, my Military Career has been even tougher than what the protagonists in those films experience," Mo Ming explained.
"Could you tell me about your difficult experiences? I'm really curious; I genuinely want to know what your life has been like," Ji Yue said, her gaze filled with sincerity. Her cheeks flushed slightly as she spoke these words, her heart racing in a chaotic rhythm that nearly made her breath quicken.
"Captain Ji, I see you're really concerned about me. Why do you want to know so much about me?" Mo Ming asked tentatively. "Could it be that you've fallen for me?"
"Yes, you've figured it out. I really do have feelings for you," Ji Yue replied playfully, but her words held a kernel of truth!
After spending the day together, Ji Yue finally understood the inexplicable fluttering in her heart—it was love.
Since the intersection with Mo Ming began, Ji Yue has been filled with curiosity about him. Because of this curiosity, she started to learn more about him.
However, there was very little information available about Mo Ming, insufficient for her to truly understand him. Thus, Ji Yue's curiosity led her to pay more attention to Mo Ming.
A feeling began to sprout in this way, growing secretly, even Ji Yue herself did not notice. During her leisure time, images of Mo Ming would suddenly appear in her mind; his mysterious identity captivated her thoughts. She longed to understand Mo Ming, and the more she desired to know him, the deeper she fell into the sea of love for him.
Previously, she was unsure if she had developed feelings for Mo Ming, but today she was certain that she had indeed fallen for him.
"Captain Ji really knows how to joke. With a beauty like you, admirers must be lining up all the way to outer space. How could you possibly be interested in me?" Mo Ming sensed the underlying truth in Ji Yue's playful words and felt a complex mix of emotions inside him. He shook his head with a smile.
"Why is it impossible?" Ji Yue replied, somewhat excited.
"Why is it possible?" Mo Ming countered.
"It's nothing; I'm just teasing you," Ji Yue said, a hint of disappointment flashing in her eyes as she forced a smile.
"I know that with Captain Ji's beauty, what kind of suitors wouldn't you have? How could you possibly be interested in me? But seriously, let's not make jokes like this anymore; I might take them seriously," Mo Ming said.
In fact, Mo Ming was subtly telling Ji Yue not to have any feelings for him; they were not meant to be. At the same time, he was helping her find an exit from the awkward situation.
Men tend to have thicker skin and are less likely to feel embarrassed, but women can be more sensitive. Even someone as strong as Criminal Police Captain Ji Yue has a heart that is as fragile as glass when it comes to matters of love.
"Alright, let's hurry and eat; otherwise, the food will get cold!" At that moment, Ji Yue was filled with disappointment and wanted to escape quickly to find a quiet place alone.
Afterward, Mo Ming and Ji Yue chatted casually. While speaking, Mo Ming became cautious because he could sense Ji Yue's inner disappointment. He didn't want to hurt her even a little bit more.
To be honest, Ji Yue is really a good candidate for a wife, but the timing was wrong; they missed the best opportunity.
After dinner, Mo Ming got into the driver's seat and planned to take Ji Yue back to the café to pick up her car.
"Where are we going now?" Ji Yue, who had been silent since dinner, finally asked.
"Huh? Aren't we going back to the café to get your car?" Mo Ming was taken aback and then replied.
"My vacation isn't over yet," Ji Yue said. "I heard you're a legend on Panlong Road, a myth. I really want to see your driving skills."
"Are you sure you're not joking?" Mo Ming shook his head with a wry smile and said, "Or are you looking for a way to get me locked up? You're a criminal police officer; if I take you racing, am I asking for trouble?"
"It's vacation time; I'm not some Criminal Police Captain. I'm just me, a woman named Ji Yue!" Ji Yue replied.
"Are you serious?"
Mo Ming felt that Ji Yue's mood changed too quickly, leaving him unsure of how she felt at that moment.
"Being naggy isn't your style. Do I really need to tease you?" Ji Yue rolled her eyes and said.
"Alright then, I'll let you see the flair of the Panlong Road Car God. But forget what you saw afterward; don't go back and tell your colleagues. I really don't want to be invited back for tea all the time; the tea from your department is just too bitter," Mo Ming said, trying to lighten the mood.
"Heh, do you think I'm that foolish? Go back and tell people I went racing with you on Panlong Road? That way, I might as well quit my job!" Ji Yue couldn't help but laugh.
"That's not a good idea. Being a criminal police officer is quite dangerous. You might as well find another job so you don't have to live in constant fear every day," Mo Ming said as he started the vehicle and turned to Ji Yue.
"Just as you said, I have no regrets, because even if you live as an ordinary person, sometimes fate is beyond your control," Ji Yue said, shaking her head.
"That's true. It seems that my words can also become famous quotes in the future," Mo Ming chuckled.
The car drove slowly on the road until it reached the highway, where Mo Ming increased the speed.
As they approached the intersection of Panlong Road, the speed picked up again, the low rumble sounding like a beast's roar, racing through the stillness of the night.
"You really drive well. The speed doesn't slow down when you turn; instead, it increases. Are you racing with your life? I'm still young; I don't want to die with you," Ji Yue's heart raced, feeling a bit excited. At that moment, she felt free from many constraints and completely relaxed without a hint of pressure.
"Don't worry! Who am I? The legend of Panlong Road, the Car God in every driver's heart! How could I let you die with me?" Mo Ming laughed heartily. "Hold on tight; I'm about to accelerate again!"
"Can't you slow down a bit? This is really too dangerous."
Ji Yue had also traveled on Panlong Road before; she knew that the upcoming curves were dense and that a moment's carelessness could send them off the track and down the mountain.
"Didn't you want to see my skills? If I don't show my true abilities, wouldn't you be disappointed?" Mo Ming remained unfazed, a charming smile on his lips. "Don't worry at all; just hold on tight and enjoy the feeling of flying!"
The car suddenly surged forward, speeding as if it were flying, and Ji Yue couldn't help but scream.
"Mo Ming, it's too fast! My heart is racing too quickly; can we slow down?"
"Racing is all about the thrill! If your heart isn't racing, then it's just walking, not racing!" Mo Ming showed no signs of slowing down and continued to speed along the road.
Soon, they had covered half the distance.
"I'm feeling a bit dizzy. Please stop the car so I can get out; I think I'm going to be sick." Ji Yue couldn't adapt to the speed and, after holding on for a while, she couldn't manage to last the entire trip.
"Alright, let's pull over and take a break," Mo Ming said, noticing that Ji Yue's face had indeed turned pale. He slowed down and then stopped the car.
As soon as the car came to a halt, Ji Yue immediately opened the door and ran to the railing, hoping to throw up. However, after waiting for a long time, she found she couldn't.
Mo Ming retrieved a bottle of mineral water from the trunk and handed it to Ji Yue. "Drink some water; it might help you feel better."
"Thank you." Ji Yue took a sip of the water and said, "Your driving was too fast. When we went around corners, it felt like we were about to crash into the railing. You have no idea how my throat felt like it was going to drop out every time we turned!"
"That's what street racing is all about—it's about speed and adrenaline. It's an effective way to relieve stress; don't you think?" Mo Ming leaned against the railing, turning his head to look at Ji Yue.
"I did feel my stress dissipate earlier, and my mind felt clear. But this method is too dangerous; I swear I won't use this way to relieve stress again," Ji Yue said as she looked at the night view below the mountain, shaking her head with a bitter smile. This motion made her feel even dizzier, so she quickly stopped and pressed her fingers against her temples.
"Are you still feeling unwell?" Mo Ming asked.
"I'm still a bit dizzy; I just need to rest for a while," Ji Yue replied.
